  1. Unload terminal may be going together? Tough to tell from the Valley cam, but looks like something tall on top of the ridge (crane?) that wasn't there before:

  2. Every year I say I'm not going to let the ski season creep up on me and every year I am surprised how quickly ski season arrives and how unprepared I am. See you goons soon.

  3. I could see them leaving that piece further back and offscreen since it should be significantly smaller. I bet the sides are where they are because of their length and inability to easily move them over later.

  4. Also, cranes down and it appears we have an upper terminal.

  5. Hopefully they can get the big pieces on the upper terminal today and move the crane down to the valley to tackle the lower terminal tomorrow, then blow like hell without having to worry about the equipment.

  6. I can't wait to ski Vista for three runs and then drink in the upper lot.

  9. I’m thinking the crane will be off the top of the hill and working on the bottom terminal within a few days.

  10. The groomer shed is close to Vista. If they don't get a snowy path out of the barn, they'll track mud on the snow and they'll wear out their tracks a lot faster. Besides, Burma takes literally two Paradise guns worth of air to run. Vista takes no air. Easy Out is the one I'm suspicious of - I'd hold off on that if it were me. But Burma and Vista are essentially free, and they need to start early in case December sucks and they need the depth.

  13. I think they really just blew some stuff on Vista. Suprisingly some of it is still there, so it wasnt in vain. What happens over this weekend will be telling.

  14. Friend of a friend says I'm wrong and Vista, Easy Out, and Burma are on the menu for breakfast. Paradise, Freefall, Shuttle, Home Stretch too. I don't know what they actually got to so far.

  16. The vista chair is still there. It would be sweet if they brought back the t bar or put in a poma lift for the bumpers and come around peeps. I like good old fashioned rope tows..they’re a little more technical.

  17. I drove by on my way home from work and indeed the two side pieces of the upper terminal looked to be in place... If it's done by Christmas does that make it a Christmas miracle?

  21. Seems like they are still missing a piece of the lower terminal. Specifically the end piece, or the "U" piece. Both side pieces have arrived but I dont see the end piece. Could be there in the lot I suppose, but I would assume it would be staged with the other pieces.

  22. If they are dying to get "open", they will blast Vista this weekend, and then give you a call for a Friday opening, which of course you will go to, even though you have made it clear you wouldnt. The only thing is, if they do have a big ass crane up at the top station of the Summit Safari Super Six Pack Supreme, If they blow on Easy out, will they be able to get the equipment out?

  25. this year im thinking of just pieces of sheet metal with something supportive so it doesn't have to be too thick (maybe 2x4s epoxied on top). i won't need to worry about having metal edges.

  26. Yeah. i had it in my mind it was gonna be December before things got going, but with the temps the next couple of days, they might be able to open Vista if they put thier minds to it pretty soon. My skis desperatly need a tune. i know @Benm 's 2x4's were way better off in that department, regardless of whether it was ski wax or floor wax.
