Few pics from Winter Park yesterday. stayed on the WP side since my friend wanted to demo some snowboards at the beacon bash tents. Parking was a nightmare, had to park in town and take the shuttle. Snow was great, all the crowds at the base, short lift lines, bluebird sunny skies. Traffic going home was pretty bad. Took me 3 hours when it should have taken 1 hr 45 min. Was able to get some practice in on some non committal bumps on the sides of the trail. Day not complete without spotting a microwave15 points

Best ski day so far at Blue this year, not sure what @Benm was smoking, but I wish he would share! Ok, substitute @GrilledSteezeSandwich post, since I'm currently drunk from sitting in the upper lodge for too long with @tarponhead and bar toad Keith. Arrived in the lower lot around 7:20am with little fanfare on the ride up. Nobody in the house at the moment, save Rodney and myself. Maybe @Dirtwolf in the PASR row, but not sure to some light flurries. 32' at the top, 34' in the lot. Bumpers started showing up a tad later. In line, snow started falling a bit harder which made for some nice ambiance. 2nd civilian chair with @Dirtwolf maybe? I don't remember. The snow was nice and grippy and no SP to slow you down. Paradise had some similar snow with a few ice spots here and there. Burma run was more/less empty but too much effort going over that far. Rode the Vista to see if anything else was done up top: nada. Did have a chat with a SP who pulled up. He said they were told definitely by the end of the year, if not before. Rest of the day was mostly hard flurries and lapping the ridge on Coming Soon and Paradise which was a ton of fun and some intense thigh burn. Kept @tarponhead out for 18 runs and then retired to parking lot and Last Run Lounge for beers. Did see @momskeeztoo was down on lower Coming Soon, but she said she was fine over a beer at Last Run Lounge. Still "snowing" here in H-town as I type this.9 points

I thought it was better than yesterday....Lower Paradise was starting to get a little spicy for my skiing talents so called it....Took a run down the conservative side of TCS and found it kinda slick ...and Burma was OK but a little slow...Even though things seem a little stale terrain wise I think Blue has done a pretty god job with coverage and we never had to park in the top lot...Happy to be on the snow again...6 points

Today was Baskin Robbins, you got all 32 flavors in one run. The snow falling was super nice but we need another way down. Coming soon was good but the only real pitch is almost always compromised. Still super good weekend4 points

Ben has high standards when it comes to ski conditions. Maybe he can join you on your Colorado trip.2 points

I had some kind of crazy fall on Coming Soon. Perhaps a snow snake? Not sure. Minding my own business on the icey head wall and all of a sudden sliding down, in a split. Came to a stop with my knees splayed out. And I’m like how the hell do I get out of this ?? It could have been a disaster to my knees. Thank you Rossignol FKSs now known as Look. Rolled over and gathered myself up. And on down the hill. It did take awhile.1 point

TFTI but Ben has repeatedly told me that he has no interest in going on a ski trip because he can ski in Northeast PA.1 point

@GrilledSteezeSandwich JFDan's report is missing a lot of cruicial details. What time did you arrive? What conditions were the sky's? What was playing on the radio? Who was in da' house? Which trails did you ski? What were the conditions? Were they are death cookies, ice spots, moguls, root rollers, or any obstacles on the trails? Were both lifts running or just one? Were there any lift breakdowns or frequent stops? What time did you ski until? Did you hang out in the parking lot? Did you put any meats in your mouth? Were any beverages consumed? Did any crazy drivers come through the parking lot? Were there a lot of people from Jersey?1 point

It must have been pretty sick because Grilled Steeze still hasn't posted a report and it's 2:53 pm. He must be taking a very long post skiing nap and SUJOPO.1 point

Digging the coverage on Lazy. Looking forward to new terrain next weekend (likely sometime this week but not make it up until the weekend)1 point

How is your stay with Joy at the Roxbury Motel going? Did you book the Shagadellic Suite? It sounds like a lot of shagging goes on in that suite. It looks like a pretty pricey place, wao $207 per night. Did you use any good discounts or coupons?? Make sure to get up extra early for first chair at Hunter, they are supposed to get some perder.1 point

Early morning conditions sucked, as they seemed to only put a skiff of new snow down on the existing trails and what they did put down wasn't good. They seemed to be more interested in starting to work on new terrain. However, later in the morning, the scraped off stuff on the edges of Coming Soon and lower Paradise turned into a lot of fun for some serious early season thigh burn.1 point

it appears as though its on. They were blowing on lower main only. Lazy, and i think midway as well. Really hoping we get some new terrain for next weekend. When Midway isnt being used by everybody to get down, it sure can be a ton of fun.1 point

They just opened the Paradise lift the other day. When Kebler Pass closes in winter, the drive from Marble to CB is 3.5 hours since you have to go all the way around. Aspen is 1 hr 15 from my place. I got an uphill pass and after my bump clinic I will still have 3 Aspen days left on my Ikon Pass. McClure Pass has some mellow skiing, the stuff up by the quarry is over my head I think. It’s going to be an awesome winter! current Ring camera still from Marble, dumping there now.1 point

Sneaky little pow day at Eldora. I had planned to go up this morning and last night’s weather said 10% chance of snow overnight. Checked webcam this morning and it was 7”! Never waited more than 3-5 min for the lift. Snow was A-mazing! Legs feeling tired after 2 hours and I was by myself so didn’t feel like taking a break in the lodge alone. Saw a guy coming in hot from a side trail so I slowed down. Sure enough the had a wicked wipe out. I got his ejected ski and lone pole and brought it down to him. He was ok but it looked nasty. Great vibe on the mountain, everyone in a super good mood. Early season predictions said we would have a late start to winter, not so! Have been getting lots of storms. The bullseye area always seems to be CB/Aspen (Marble!). They are expecting 20-36” by Thursday. I am doing my bump clinic in Aspen weekend of 15th so very happy they are getting hammered. One lonely picture, too busy skiing.1 point
