Great day at Assspen! The temps didn’t get above 10 degrees. We had a bit of sun for one run then most of the day was a snowy white out. Conditions are amazing. Lots of slow drills which I didn’t mind since I couldn’t see anything. not a lot of pics as it was so cold. Rinse and repeat tomorrow.

Woke up at 5:30 to the sound of sleet and looked out the window to see a nice coating of sleet everywhere. First 15 mins of drive was pretty spicy, then rain til mid county, then no precipitation til blue. I believe first civilian run down coming soon and it was pretty smooth and chalky, probably the best conditions I’ve had this season. Paradise was similar and from the looks of it there will prob be a lazy Mile opening soon. Smallest crowds of the season I’ve seen. Snowed lightly while I rode from 9-11:30 but started snowing pretty good by the time I pulled out of the lot. Drive up the mountain was spicy as I need new tires, but as soon as I hit Appalachian trail the roads were clear with little precipitation. Snowed from Whitehall to the turnpike and then all rain. also, unless this storm is supposed to pick up something serious later, 8 inches seems absurd lol.

Earliest age for me was 9, Split rock ‘hill’. My friend and I kept falling off the T-bar so my dad dragged us up (maybe 1/2 way) one at a time holding on to his pole. At the end of the day he skied down top to bottom on one ski, and I thought he was the coolest dad in the world.

No not at all. Ended up working late and passed out on the couch. Trust me. I was annoyed with myself for not getting out but plenty of days ahead.

Tonight was actually pretty good, the upper part of coming soon was smooth fast with just a skootch on top. It was effortless carving and while the lower headwall had a few spots the star was the ditch spine. The sugar had piled up deep and made for a super fun bounce. Big credit to dirty and edge for that line. Crowds weren't too bad some annoying race kids but maybe the best conditions I've skied all year and I rode nearly 3hrs which isn't bad for 1 1/2 trails plus a ski tour. Blowing on lazy, lower main/midway, tubing and the big fan guns at all the intersections.

Opening day announced for season pass holders and hotel guests is 12/22. Selling tickets for general public starting 12/26. Planning to be first chair or close to it on the 22nd and will have report.

I consider it 💯 legit. Definitely worth it if you have 2 weekend days planned there as you'll probably pay about $174 for those two days anyway. (100 -25 discount + 12 parking times 2 days) I like a day or two or even 3 at Camelback, but not willing to bet on making 3 visits

I would need to ski 6 days at Camelback for this to make sense economically (based on what I consider the real value of a Camelback ski-day, that is). And those would be six days I'm not skiing Blue. Probably won't bite.

Me too, I want to believe but I'm skeptical until I see it somewhere official. I checked every place I can think of and also added my name to the Blue Mountain mailing list. Some phishing scams can be really sophisticated, it's possible Blues email list has been hacked. I wouldn't trust an email address "connectintouch.com" as far as I could toss a captains wafer.

On the fence between Shawnee and Montage for a day this weekend - no time to go further. If Montage gets enough snow to open the whole North Face this weekend, will likely head there. If only Cannonball and Boomer then will likely burn our 2nd Shawnee Indy day and save our Montage ones, especially as Shawnee blacks out Saturdays after tomorrow until 2nd half of.March.

Cause Google is wrong in this instance. Blue is not on the Pocono Plateau. It is on a separate rodge south of that Plateau, just as Montage and Elk are north of it.

I remember my first ski day very well , 1974 Doe Mountain . It's amazing anyone skied a second time after dealing with those nightmare Spademan plate bindings , I probably spent a good hour of a full ski day getting the snow off the bottom plate to re attach my boot to the skis . The rope tow ,I managed to get up for 3 runs and my buddies are .."Yeah you're good" So up the chairlift to the top . They spot a jump and I wait my turn ....looks easy ,no problem . I plant both tips and windmill my face into the course granular , I get up and blow out the ice and blood from my nose , my tail is between my legs now . The first pitch was terrifying, but I navigated it very slowly . By the end of the day I could make a top to bottom run without crashing . I spotted another of my neighbors just ripping the place up and I set my goal to ski like him . He's my age and still rips ...I'll get there eventually .

Looks like they put a fan gun at the intersection of Switch and LMS. Should make for some better snow right there, but then again it's Blue.

Hey All, It’s almost another weekend, is anybody planning on skiing at Blue mountain the true mountains? Looks like sunny sky’s both Saturday and Sunday and some good snowmaking temperatures Saturday night. Gonna be a good one.

Live at like the four seasons in Jackson hole they have all that there but you’ll still have to take a bus or an Uber to get to the cowboy bar

Nowhere good: Spring & Campgaw are 75 (and Big Snow 60 off peak) Bear Creek and Shawnee are 90 min Blue and Camelback 100 min JF/BB 110 min Mountain Creek 120 Those are the 10 closest of which I'd say Blue and Cbk are about tied for 1st. Stretch it to 135-200 min and I prefer Montage, Elk, Whitetail or any of the 4 in Catskills (I don't prefer Roundtop, Liberty or Big Bear)

Closed that page and went directly to the shop website and searched for the product, couldn't find it. Logged in because I thought maybe you had to be logged in to see it. Still couldn't find it. Went back to the page through the link in the email, clicked on my account and my info was there, so it has to be internally linked to the webstore. Of course, it may be legit, but it still rhymes with shit. As Camelback's maybe 4th biggest fan on PASR, it's still not worth almost $200 to add it to my pass. Would have to go at least three times for it to pay off, not likely.

Look forward to seeing what combined pass deal they offer for sale in Feb 2023-24. What was cheapest price Blue offered a full pass for this year?

blue does use intouch, could be legit. link at bottom of blue goes to same domain. i'd check the headers to make sure it came from that domain, still be skeptical. if CBK said it was bogus, i'd be wondering how the person got my email

Yeah but was thinking more in terms of less people on the slopes. The BBS’s on weekday mornings are generally pretty easy to pass. They ski predictably. Race kids will be back this weekend I wonder where they’ll train.

Pocono Mountain Visitors bureau says 6. They own the Poconos, so.......

Me and AtomicJeff agreed we’d rather have one person paying $60 than two people paying $30. Prices go up to $79 12/23. I’m sure it will top $100 over the Xmas holiday.
