Just an opening note, I didn't ski today, just worked. Rolled in at 10:30 and not much of a crowd. Fairly light attendance as you would expect on a day with basically negative wind chill to open. Surprised a lot of snowboarders (usually come in late!). All reports and from what I could see snow was really nice, no ice, no cookies, packed powder with rooster tails. Way to go BC snowmaking team! A great opening day! Planning to get in 5 to 6 days in the coming week, will report!
Fucking cold as a polar bears butthole, like 11 witches titties but lower main was good and it wasn't too crowded.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to everyone, I hope you all get mad titty sparkles from Santa.
Great day on the groomers at Okemo. 16 runs - 12 from the Bubble as it was chilly. When I posted my stat Insaw that I beat my vertical record by about 60 feet.
I’m just learning Tele, so I appreciate the gradual slope haha.
I coach some of those kids on mountain bikes. Great kids!
from my experience, it’s the adults, some parents, who are the entitled brats! Seriously. The parents can be the worst!
Should've strapped your gopro on, I'd have watched that.
Edit - I reread that and was wondering if there was a contraction for 'I'd have' that was valid. Apparently it looks like I'd've is. So I am noting that here and will be using it in future writing.
I'd've watched it.
Nice that’s almost t shirt weather for the Rockies. Yesterday when it was 11 degrees out in Virginia and DC everybody was wearing scarves lol you wear a scarf skiing at a Rocky Mountain resort you’ll end up hanging upside down on a lift and be on jerry of the day. Not @saltyant he’s not a jerry anymore he’s a Jerome!!
The Yellowstone club…members only like the 1980s jackets. Skiing liberty bowl at Big Sky you get a really good view of the Yellowstone club which is small compared to Big sky but only a handful of skiers and riders and I heard free cookies if you know Salty and Ski2Live
Not on the Indy but check out Mt. Abram when you're in that area. Their highest price all year is $35 thanks to L.L. Bean. It skis a lot bigger than it looks on the map.
After 7 hours of work which involved crawling under my trailer, no hot water, blow torching pipes, carrying heavy ass 150,000 btu heaters, opening frozen gas tank door on car, experiencing extreme aggravation and cursing, buying heat tape, wrapping pipes with heat tape, and likely $400 bill for plumber, there better be some damn good skiing this winter. Or it's not worthwhile.
I need to start looking into using the Indy pass once more places and terrain open up after the holidays. Always looming forward to checking out some new places and old favorites.
