  2. Hey All, I’m back from another fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 7:17am and it was around 40 degrees under sunny sky’s with moderate winds. In the house were Atomic Jeff, JFDan, NMSki, Mute, Ryan, Boo Bear, MBike Mike, Mrs. Snowbunski, Bethlehem ford crew, Dirtwolf,’Slim, Indiggio, Drew, BenM, Mixilplix, Gary and many others. First run on razors was pretty slick and uneven, coming soon was pretty similar maybe a little bit better. Lazy mile was initially a little chunky and choppy but got better. Paradise was good the entire time and Main Street skied alright especially in the skeet spot on the lower half. Midway was just ok. Crowds were super light probably some of the least crowded weekend skiing ever. Still plenty of race kids whoring the trails. I enjoyed some beers in the lot and got to ride around on Mutes electric scooter..MBike made some pork and sausage sandwiches and there was a mini Asian invasion in our row. All in all a decent spring skiing day. JADIP

  4. The plan was to go to Winter Park with a bunch of girlfriends. It ended up being just me. got on the gondola shortly after 8:30 and people definitely slept in. Did 2 hours of non committal bumps on the sides of the runs. Light pretty flat, very windy at the top. Then I scoped out a forest road for winter camping near the resort. They will let you camp in G-Lot, but you have to keep it super low key. No fires, no cooking outside etc. We keep talking about doing an overnight. The place I checked out looked pretty good. Have to see if I can get the final word if it’s legal. nice big spot at the end of the plowed road.

  7. Love how Blue Mountain takes credit for Barney's Bumps being open except they had no hand in setting them! Happy New Year all!

  8. Thanks! Looking forward to going back and exploring some more terrain. Our class mostly did the terrain off the Ajax express lift. We concentrated on 5 or 6 bump runs and did them over and over. It was nice to know what to expect and the bumps did change day to day.

  9. Best conditions of the season so far, almost spring skiing already. Need winter to return! Once the temps warmed up enough, set a bump line from top of Main to the skid mark. Legs are shot!

  11. Was debating on whether or not to go today. But I'm glad I did. Conditions were good, snow was soft, nothing too terrible but there were the usual divots and unevenness to be aware of; but what made it extra spicy however where the crowds and fog which started out about half way up when we got there to almost entirely covered by the time we finished. Btw In the house were JfDan, Mute, BenM, Mixilplix, indiggio, mbike, enjorales, pops and if I missed anyone else I'm sorry! Overall a good ski day and no rain (at least not while we were there) Happy new year all!

  12. Wound up at Bolton on 30th and B.East today. No lines and a decent amount open at both with good conditions. Some bare spots on the nautral snow trails at Bolton but nice of them to leave those trails open with thin cover warnings. Gonna take Sun and Mon off as conditions will be much worse. See what looks good next weekend.

  13. For sure…I rented skis in 6th and 7th grade, not seasonal rentals like having to go to the rental shop every ski day. 8th grade I had my pick of my cousins old skis and grabbed a pair of K2 170 length skis and did a seasonal rental on boots. At the ski shop, Nazareth sporting goods the guy said the skis were antiquated and my dad said he was just trying to get us to buy new skis. Then the next season in 9th grade I bought brand new skis from Nestor’s which no longer exists. It was replaced by a store called Buckmans

  14. I was about his age when I got my first pair of my own skis and didn't have to rent anymore. Figured a nice pair would have some resale value in a couple years when he outgrows them.

  16. Took the boys up for a few laps from about 2 to 5. Made 4 excruciating runs. Paradise, Tuts to lower widow to vista lift, then full Widowmaker run to vista lift then Lazy to lower Sidewinder. About 7000 turns. They had fun though.

  21. Fun morning with soft snow. Speeds were throttled back due to visibility but light crowds made it manageable. Got my first Razor’s run of the year before they closed it for BMR. Nice to meet @Jimkovalalso. Ski everyone tomorrow.

  23. First day on Head Kore 93s, 170s. Going wider and shorter for old geezer skis. Had demoed them at Tahoe last spring and liked the the most of the wider skis I tried. Did well today, relatively fast turning, handled the mid morning marbles and was able to do speed control skidding a lot better than my longer Rossi Experience 88s. Blue Mountain ski shop experience was very good.

  24. I was so stoked to ski today since a good friend helped me tune and wax my skis so I can ski faster than @AtomicSkier. Unfortunately not feeling well so I'm out until next weekend
