Hey All, I’m back from another fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 835am and it was partly sunny and in the low 30s. None of the snowmaking cannons were on but there was scattered snowmaking overnight. In the house were Johnny Law, Atomic Jeff, Dirtwolf and a couple hundred boomers and lots of snowboarders. At the 9am opening bell there were a solid 75-100 people at the Quad. First run down razors and it was a wall to wall smooth corduroy carpet. We did a repeat of razors then onto Main Street which was a wall to wall carpet and even the skeet spot skied well. I repeated Main Street 5 more times then peaced out around 1020am. All in all it was excellent snow but already a half full quad corral when I left with people spilling in. I don’t blame them as tomorrow it’s supposed to be warm and rainy. I’ll either be back Friday or Saturday.4 points

Nice session with the family tonight. Snow was the best I’ve seen at night so far this year and crowds weren’t as bad as I expected with ski club season starting. Only saw 3 tour buses in the lot and the quad was only a chair or two wait. Six pack had more people but still only a couple minute wait. Temps we’re in the upper 30s so snow was in the softer side with some scrap spots. Most rocks I’ve seen on open trails in a while between Burma and Lazy. Saw some sparks and thought my base might have taken a shot but just some scratches. Coming Soon and Razors were both closed while we were there. Hoping for some cold temps and they can get the thin spots covered. Back at it tomorrow night.3 points

Great session number two tonight. Very different conditions from this morning. Soft granular snow with push piles and excellent slush that was pushed in various ditches and spines. Happy the lines weren’t ever that long. Was super fun to open them up this morning on razors and main then slow it down tonight on the same trails.2 points

Ridge sugar and ice is normal night skiing conditions. The first day back from a ski trip is always a sad slap of reality but you’ll snap out of it this weekend when you’re riding the new six pack.2 points

Today were some of the best conditions in awhile. A bit crowded, they opened the 6 pack around 330. The new lift was spinning, I guess were testing it. Did a bunch of runs, tailgate, then back out. Total of 17 runs. I may come on Sunday morning to check out the new lift.2 points

Bought a 5 pack of group lessons from school for the kid and we had the first one tonight. We’ve had private lessons previously and wanted her to get to socialize with other kids at the mountain. Well they had 5 boarders, 3 skiers, and 12 instructors when we showed so the kid had a private lesson 🤦 Instructors were super nice and said they’ve struggled a little bit this week. They lost all private lesson reservations from 1/6-1/20. Ouch. The usual slick spots and push piles but it’s fun. Lines vary from nonexistent to a 5 minute wait so far. Having a hydration break and headed back out to find @mbike-skisince I see his truck.2 points

A lot better conditions today versus yesterday. Left at 11 when the quad corral was full, but no line beyond the gates.2 points

part of me thinks the raffle is a great idea. the other part of me wonders if i'd really want to be on the first chair. they could've sweetened the deal by adding one of the ultra few remaining lift chairs that were going to sell out quickly to each winner.2 points

Tis a glorious winter wonderland here in Marble. Decided to go skinning at Buttermilk. Buttermilk logistic are so freaking easy. The main parking lot is right at the bottom of the lift. There are 3 skin routes, I chose West Buttermilk since it’s the easiest and this was my first real uphill day. About 1200’ of vert. The parking for W Buttermilk is right in the trail! You walk out of your car and step on the snow. Stopped at the top at the Cliff House for a little water break. Overcast skies but warm temps. 2 storms rolling in this week. Woohoo!2 points

They were slow in the beginning of the year but I don’t think an hour turnaround on a weekend is out of the question. If I remember right it’s like $60 hand wax and $40 machine? Don’t forget the season pass discount if you have it.1 point

Momskeeztoo we’ll ski a few runs with you if we see you on the slopes. The difference between a fast skier and a slow skier on a run is like 30 seconds for a run. Heck I was a solid 5-6 seconds behind atomic Jeff today and he still waited for me.1 point

Don’t remember anyone saying hi to me this evening. Sorry. I was probably in a zone. Lodge is like another world when all the school kids are in there! Trying to get out Sunday morning, maybe take some runs with you folks then. Y’all will probably leave me in the dust, I’m a slow skier. I actually enjoy turning my skis.1 point

Night conditions can be good a lot of the time, like in the spring. Tonight was not. I hate sugar with the burning passion of 1000 suns. And its a staple at blue unfortunately1 point

No it was my fault for forgetting my pass. Besides it was $20...so like a donation to Blue mountain. Similar to how you would donate to your local fire department or church.1 point

You have to go on the chat before business hours, so you’re not 50th in the queue. Immediately got my gift card.1 point

If you go on a ski trip and come back don't forget to put your blue pass back in your coat. It's $20 charge to give you a new one.1 point

Upper main could have been in a brochure picture. Barney’s bumps had the best and longest lasting cord on the mountain with the exception of some of the Western territory off the OG west summit like Upper Widowmaker, upper come around… While taking connector one of @saltyantfavorite runs, I saw a rare sight, two skiers dancing down upper upper main street. My guess is they took the vista chair unless they hiked in off the Appalachian trail after a night of boondocking in a short bus. The amount of people out earlier seemed bad but it was mainly just cause the quad was the only lift running. It was a very social vibe..singles and doubles were doing a really good job naturally pairing up. On 22 this morning there was a bad accident on 15th street and all red on the maps..so I took 309 to walbert and I knew walbert would be backed up to springhouse so dipped one block over to winchester and 4 cars at the light at cedar crest by Applebys vs 50 cars on walbert then cruises past my work saw that delivery guy was doing his thing cruised by Whitehall high school..took 50 minutes, the length of a psychologists appointment.1 point

Had a fun day. Conditions weren’t fabulous, but not bad considering the weather recently. J Law, believe I saw you several times late in the morning on Razors. I’ll be back in the morning. Calling for r@in again Thursday and Friday. Damn, we need cold weather!!1 point
