  1. Shit is open, groomer got into it and it's lumpy and a bit narrow. You can 75% attack but the groomer got into the dirt on the inside left and now it's more of a double apex where you push late to hit the orange stick instead of that super sweet off the ledge drop where you get that nice natural flow into the power right. Not bad but can use some more work

  2. TCS was also pretty nice. No one seemed to anxious to get on the quad at rope drop, so I got first chair by myself and first run down Dreamweaver. Razors was roped off right from the beginning, I think they prepped it last night are letting it sit for the race this weekend. Last run nearly got clobbered on chute by a snowboarder straight lining it. Poetic justice when she wiped out in the soft stuff on lower Main and I helped clean up the yard sale. 4. I arrived at the lower lot at 850 under partly cloudy skies after being delayed by the funeral procession being led by 3 busses from Wilmington Friends. C1er was in the house but I was slightly behind and got the first chair on the new sixer Upper main was a carpet but super soft serve so it went fast, lower was a little lumpy but not bad as its at least 30% poop chute. Lazy and Pdis were fine but soft snow and they are slow. NM/DW was why I was there and while far from perfect it was nice to get the turn going. They bifurcated the run out after Jeff's left which is super nice as now you can exit full speed. Another groom should really improve the smoothness. By 1040 the barbarian hords from DE had crossed the Hadrian's wall of lazy mile and it was time to go. Super nice spring day and major props for rolling out NM/DW.

  6. I know that guy lol Thanks man ! I have seen very little of myself skiing. The family photographers are usually elsewhere than where I'm skiing and the only other video I've seen are NM's from telluride and a 3 second clip on Peter Glenn's YouTube from 647854 years ago. I'll try to remember inside arm next time but it may be a lost cause lol

  9. Will there be a ribbon cutting ceremoney? some nice opening remarks by @Johnny Law? Maybe a raffle to get first dibs on it? Honestly this makes me tingle downstairs more than the new lift opening.

  11. I'd be more interested in star gazing at Mt lemon than actually skiing there (I think there's an observatory up there). It's 700 vert or something like that. Sunrise on the other hand I'm intrigued by but I don't see myself passing up a day at Snowbowl for it unless I lived there and wanted to try something different.

  14. Appreciate that but can't subscribe to that unfortunately. I take the I'd rather not destroy my bases approach but if they do get knicked or scratched up...I'll live

  17. A few hours later and you would have been airborne if you skied that line the same way. Most of the place was floaty potatoes with a few deep sugar spots. Ultra rowdy on NMDW. The kind of snow where you need super soft knees and just surf it out. In the snow from 6-8. Cosmic snow tubing looks pretty cool.

  18. I took a nice drive up 322 to visit a cousin at Penn State and ski Tussey. I made use of my Indy pass (finally) and with another friend we took advantage of the 2 for 1 college ticket monday which is pretty rad that they offer specials on a holiday. A bit of a line for the two lifts formed early afternoon but it was not too crazy I thought considering schools had off. Blue sky day and the sun had softened the snow up nicely except parts of the Deer Run green from the top (narrow shaded cut and the only green from the top today so it got skied off) and Upper Tuscarora (double black with massive whales they just opened for the season). The hill is actually a bit steeper than I imagined. It is a consistently steep pitch down 400-500ft under the quad. From the quad the green would be a blue and the blue a black at a lot of other PA areas. The beginner slope at the bottom is a good setup but it is really a big step up to send beginners down from the quad after that- narrow, crowded, slick and kind of steep. If they were to get that outer Lions way green open in this wacky weather that might be a better less steep next step and way to spread the traffic. They had some jumps set up at the bottom of the one blue. Classic sort of lodge with a fire and that ancient quad lift are fun. Fun place with everyone just having a good old time skiing for a few hours. That T bar straight up the side would be a wicked ride...

  19. Good Ole Tussey, I skied there a bunch with my cousin many moons ago when he went to State College. Only place less concerned with safety than blue knob, of the 3 trails one had more than one cinder block. I also love they have 4 ways down but like 20 trails allegedly. Tussey is Spring Mtn for state college or Doe mtn before Bear became Bear. Blue Knob is worth the drive Tussey only if you got a date to pick up meth in Boalsburg.

  20. It’s moderately steep from the start. You can tell by the way the skier in the vidier is really milking the turns milk it milk it. I could watch this for days. So beautiful high on the pocono plateau it’s the real poconos not the fauxconos like Mont Bleu..but now they are under the same leadership and both are major players here in MASH mid Atlantic ski hell.

  21. Don't tell too many people... I don't want this secret getting out, Blue Mountain skiers might decide to get Camelback season passes and then they'll find all the hidden Powder stashes on Uncle Bill's Way.

  37. An update on my helmet purchase- I had bought the Atomic Savor HD helmet and now have 8 days with it, mix of sun, flat light and days with both conditions. Highly recommend it! If you wear glasses it eliminates the whole foggy glasses issue, eliminates foggy goggle issue too. Wife has the photochromatic lenses and loves them. May be slightly more versatile. My lenses are the HD lens and seems to be sufficient. A bit pricy, but if you need both a new helmet and good goggles it is worth it.

  38. TRAIL REPORT 1-18; rolled in at 8:30, temp already too high at 37. Cloudy cover. Only a few of us "boomers" in lodge. First 2 runs down Kodiak, fast and firm. Intersection of Kodiak and entrance to Broadway already showing streaks. Then went over to F chair side, Broadway traverse getting narrow. Broadway was nice and firm and fast. Did Timberline and was ok. Polar Bear was sweet. Grizzly was pretty nice, some streaks showing. Lapped Broadway, Timberline. Polar Bear, Grizzly for a while and then went back and did Cascade Park (slow at 11), a couple of Black Bear Park runs (pretty nice) and finished with Bear Trap/Kodiak run. Things getting soft at 11:30 but all in all JADIP
