I thought today was better snow wise and I had alot more fun that yesterday. NMDW was a good minefield and upper main was good. Truthfully it was probably the hot dogs though. I'm always hungry on the lift and imagine my delight when BenM revealed delicious hot hot dogs mid lift ride. One was a dream but to get back on the lift and get another is next level. I've become a lift dog evangelist, it may be the perfect lift food.13 points

Pulled into a half filled lot just before 8:15 thinking WTF as the lifts start rolling at 9!? Seconds later @JFskiDan pulled in next to me thinking the same thing. Painless issue of Indy pass and waiting for mountain host to give us the green light, a hundred or so race kids fly by us explaining all the cars in the lot. They let season pass holders start at 8:30 which is pretty cool, a few minutes before 9:00 we were off, working the north side skiers left to right. Temp was a cold 40d under overcast skies. Snow was soft Cornish cord that held up pretty well as we worked our way across. I started out tele that was pretty fun but challenging on a few of the steeper pitches, thanks for waiting Dan lol. after we hit everything down low it was rinse and repeat, I swapped out skis and we took a ride up top on the iron horse. We watched the race kids from above struggling with tough conditions. At the top we remarked about the troegs shack and the lifty said they open at 11. back down bottom the snow was holding up, just a little choppy here and there. The lift not so much as it was stopping every ride for 5 minutes or so. Worked our way across for another round, figured we were pressing our luck and headed back up top for a beer. Troegs wasn’t opened so we headed back to the trucks for a beer and some of Benm’s Reese’s chips ahoy and peaced out around noon. Fun morning with a change of scenery with better snow and less crowds than Blue #IndyRevolutiion9 points

This is spot on accurate. He was so sly about it too. It was 8:45ish... I saw it and just kinda thought why's BenM wearing a fanny pack filled with aluminum foil? Never in my wildest dreams could I imagine what would come next. Johnny Law took it one further, said and I quote "yo dude...what do you got there?" ....Then came BenM's epic and unforgettable response. A response that that'll be etched into my memory banks as long as I live and breathe... "anyone wanna hotdog?"...as he held his foil wrapped trophy high in the air, grinning from ear to ear. Frankly...It was an honor and a privilege to be apart of it.8 points

Great day today after a couple big powder days. Everything was soft and smooth and the steeps were in beautiful shape. Didn’t expect the headwall to be open so that was a serious bonus, and a little exercise as well. Got to ski the expert chutes for the first time ever and it was so good we repeated it (although there was a very spicy traverse to get there. Tomorrow will be a brief AM session before heading to the airport.8 points

January 29th 2023 Day 5 of 7. Hey All, Im back from another session at Jackson hole mountain resort. No more powder panic today as there was only 6” new in the last 24 hours but only 2” overnight. We left for the mountain at 755am and it was around zero degrees under mostly cloudy sky’s. We took a different approach up the mountain…Sweetwater gondola to Casper to thunder groomed on the Grand…up Sublette and NMSki, Atomic Jeff and Nazareth Jay hiked the head wall and me and Mute did a Bivoac woods run which was very soft not untracked and then over to thunder and some pow below expert chutes and did that twice and met the boys bottom of Thunder. Up Thunder and I split up because I didn’t want to ski tower three so went over to the Casper area and found a good bit of leftover pow and also over to Apres Vous for more of the same. At the top of Apres Vous, atomic Jeff text me they were halfway up Sublette and taking last run and I timed it perfectly taking two more runs and literally was walking back to our $40 parking space in the village lot. Now finishing up lunch at the Snake river brewery.8 points

Basically boiled hot dogs individually wrapped with no accoutrements (thanks blue for only having the pump/cup condiments, not packets) in an insulated funny pack. Ngl it hit the spot tho. Would do it again.7 points

BenM woke up extra early and made hot dogs for his homies. He wrapped them up in foil to ensure that they stayed warm for us. We ate them on the lift. Took a run then ate more next ride up. It was like Popeye eating his spinach. We were able to conquer the sugar fields with ease after that.5 points

Everybody knew what conditions were going to be like.....If you can be one of the first people on the trail...the groomed sugar can be down right fun....Still kinda firm from the grooming...You could lay down some good trenches ......Did two good laps on NM/DW....Hopped over to TCS...Pretty firm snow there...Back over to NM/DW and it was beat..Mostly lapped TCS...Lower Paradise was shit except if you stuck to skiers R by the trees there was a sorta kinda smooth path....Hopefully they can blow most of this week with the temps...This shit has just got to be buried and morph into base material..5 points

There was a bottle of ketchup under the quad yesterday. Stupidly random, yes, but at the same time kind of on par for things you see at Blue. fyi, mike and i enjoyed the reese’s cookies the most. Thanks.4 points

Sugar free day at montage. Early runs with some soft cord, and stuff held up pretty well. Some scratchy spots to be had, but over all a pretty good day. Good call by mike thinking outside the Blue box a little. I think i get trapped in that and need a little nudge to get out of it.4 points

Just back from another strange day at blue. First run on upper main was really nice but that didn't last long. More of the same today. Cookies divots, sugar etc. Maybe a tad better than yesterday overall. NMDW and lower main, lower paradise became vast fields of sugar. The legs were wrecked by 9:30. Highlight of the day however were the warm and delicious lift hot dogs courtesy of chef BenM.4 points

Last night was f*cking terrible. Boot high sugar piles on ice. Brutal. But I got 6 runs in with my niece so all good 🥰. Very proud of how much better she’s gotten since she first started. Look forward to going with her again soon with better conditions. Turned around and did double duty and was up this morning from 845-11 with cuzzie. Little better than last night and was only gonna get better as it got warmer.4 points

So far I've been gifted a McDonald's chicken sandwich, part of a baguette, many burritos and now hot dogs. I'm not counting the usual like beef jerky or chocolate and it has to be on the lift. I think I could eat crab legs on the red chair at magic but I still say the hot dog may be the best lift food.3 points

In a discussion about Blue Sky Basin yesterday hotdogs came up. On the 3rd or 4th ride up BenM revealed a secret satchel of hot dogs he brought from him home. A dozen or so individually wrapped for speed, hot, the whole works, they were a great dog and yoccos doesn't deliver to the main street express. King of kings kinda move I have no idea about winterfest but I haven't seen any ice sculptures.3 points

Some other saddleback pics. Had a run in with a pine tree. Saddleback is a really awesome place, unfortunately the stuff off the top like Casablanca never opened. Apparently the traverse is super sketchy so when its icy, they shut it down. Favorite day was Burke, maybe because I didn't know what to expect, but the snow and trails were awesome3 points

Big Boulder is grate... Not! I don't mind the tiny trails at all because the grooming is pristine. The place is set up for total noobs. The annoying lift attendant tells me every single time to "make sure you the bar down and keep your tips up". Yeah buddy, I've been a lift attendant for 2 years and skied all over North America. I know how a ski lift works. Then there's a long line for the only lift with decent terrain and I try to pair up with a group of 3, but am told "this is a kids group only". Da fuq??? Then to ski a decent black diamond I need speed to get back to the only decent lift open, but a bunch of gapers are just standing around in a gaggle at the bottom so I have to slow down and then skate uphill and do work. I have more grievances but am getting to the top for a radical run!!!2 points

Just came back from a night session with Becky. It was a balmy 42 when we pulled into the lower lot around 545, which was surprisingly full. We stuck with the quad for tonight and on our first ride up homestretch looked like a sea of waves… not bumps, but perfectly parallel waves. It was like wet sand, but honestly it wasn’t awful. Lower paradise had spots down to dirt and glacier but the piles between it were honestly fun. Crazy mile was just that… wild with groups of 15-20 boarders at a clip. Had to pull over a few times to make sure the little wouldn’t be a hit and run. Only annoying part was the perpetual black hole on lazy, perhaps they can borrow a colored light from tubing since they can’t seem to be bothered to replace the bulb that’s been out since the start of the season. Playing in the push piles is typical Sunday night skiing (especially this year), overall fun night.2 points

Awesome day! Anxiety of waiting on avy mitigation for 1.5 hours had me bugging but it was so worth it. A few sections of the hobacks today was some of the best big mountain powder skiing I’ve had. Could hear @AtomicSkierhooting and hollering and when I came around the corner I knew why. Pretty sick back to back days.2 points

1/28/22…Day 4 of 7… With 27” new in the past 24 hours and 42” in the last 48 hours, stoke and the powder panic were off the chain this morning. We left for the hill at 7:25 and we’re booted and suited up before 8am…about 25th or so in the gondola singles line and waited and waited some more as the avalanche bombs were going off above. I had about three safety meeting while waiting and then sometime around 1045 we were finally given the all clear…only teewinot, sweet water and AV were operating and within a second all lifts open. We shared a gondola with quite the rowdy crew…one of the guys took two hits off my vape and they were drinking tequila out of a flask. Amphitheater was deep like a foot to a foot and a half of new snow and as I rounded the corner atomic Jeff was searching for his pole..luckily it was found fast. Thunder was about a full corral already as people were approaching thunder from Teton, Casper and the gondola. Up Thunder to the left side of Grand again which was untracked..not quite as deep as yesterday..only some face shots, not on every turn. It was like I was fucking two supermodels yesterday with another sitting on my face it was that good and today was like only fucking one supermodel with the others playing with each other. That’s until we took the Sublette chair to the Hobacks. Yes the Hobacks, what can I say except 2700 vert that’s never seen a groomer, about a mile wide. The Hobacks today was like I was the star of a reverse gangbang..each section got better and better. One area just got better and better, Atomic Jeff was snapping photos and when I passed him I just kept going for another two dozen of the lightest and deepest turns of the day..bottomless effortless delight, the kind of snow I’ll be telling my friends grandkids about one day. Still not as epic as the 22” day in 2016 but darn close. I stopped and took some pictures 2/3 of the way down then the last sections was just swaths of 1+ foot deep powder right to the cat track. It was off seeing NMSki off the cat track floundering in several feet of snow but he was able to make his way back to the cat track. I shouldn’t talk as I fell on my ass in the mens room earlier. Today was not a big vert day but it was super quality..people go on week long heli ski trips and don’t get the amount of deep powder we got the last two days. Apres ski today was at the Mangy moose and it was a fun time and we had nachos, I had a prime rib cheesesteak and 4 pitchers of beer were consumed and Nazareth Jay even got a free Pacifico draft that they brought to the wrong table and the waitress flirted hard with him, she either had daddy issues or was looking for a big tip..not just the tip lol picture time2 points

You have to log them as separate days or they only count as one. I just checked your stats, you officially have 15 days but it’s only been logged as 141 point

Nice at first you seemed irritated but glad you’re feeling better now. Are you gonna hit Jack Frost after lunch?1 point

Somewhere different. I like the trails (big wide open black diamond) and the view of the lake even if it's a 15 second run. Plus the snow is much, much better quality than Blue the True was yesterday. The gaggle blocking the trail has dispersed so it's pretty fun now.1 point
