  2. Woke up to thunder and lightening this morning which was sad but quit by the time we left. Hour ride to Killington which had a 30 minute delayed opening due to weather. Parked at Bear Mountain which had maybe 15 cars. 45° but expected to drop 20° in the next 5ish hours. Little trouble redeeming the tickets that Boo won but they figured it out and we were on the snow shortly after. No rain on the first lift but the skies opened up on our Skylark/LaunchPad/Bittersweet to the K1 Express first run. Already soaked so we’re grabbing a morning beverage at the Peak Lodge and waiting for the rain to move out.

  3. Like 10 years ago I paid 7 and change at the window. The year your talking about she was hard up for money. I will pay whatever to never have to ski with kooks like you.

  6. It's a lot but it isn't going to stop anybody here from buying a pass to Blue that already has one. We'll bitch and moan about it and complain here and at the end of the day will still buy one.

  7. I have told many people this year, that next years pass will start with a 7. i will stick by that. Probably do some type of current passholder perk i would think. They really should just do $799 and 1 free full tune for current passholders. If you run the Skiitooolive numbers on pretty much anybody posting here, its still cheap as fuck to go slide down some man made for the season. Plus, at that price, not every Tom, Dick and Harry will be buying a pass. less people on the slopes in my opinion makes for a better day i will pay more for.

  8. I'll second this. Doesn't seem like it makes sense if they aren't 100% like local gems around here.

  15. Gonna apply our 25% off a 3rd Indy Day to the weekday rates at Shawnee early afternoon today - after the rain and before the freeze up and weekend crowds come.

  17. That means they doubled their price over 5 years since I bought mine there for $399 (along with 2x6th grade passes for $99/each so they are asking 25% more for 1 pass than I paid for 3). Also more than either an Epic Local or Ikon Base went for last year. Maybe they throw in Camelback too (including parking) at that price.

  18. HaHa this string is great! I literally just got back from Okemo and Mt. Snow. Skied Okemo Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Mt Snow on way home today. Monday Okemo was ok, basically hard pack/frozen. Skied primarily on main face and some runs on Jackson Gore. Tuesday was incredible, we were staying slopeside and had a dusting of snow. Went to top right away and 3 to 4" of perder and it was sweetness on the half shell. Hit from top down Sweet Solitude, Colemans and then Exhibition, we had maybe 2nd tracks on the run. Banged it 3 more times and then it was all cut up. Wednesday we went right up and it Jackson Gore, hit every trail and it was incredibly good! Hit South face two days and just ok, lots of much. Ate at condo with friends most of the time, hit Mr. Darcy's for some great burgers and local ales. Mt. Snow was not so good, thin cover, mushy, windy. NP as it was on way home.

  19. Fantastic day. Started with actual winter conditions, ended with spring slush. Skied everything I wanted to a few times. First time doing Superstar, was rad; and some trails I didn't do back when I was a noob. Skied 9-3:40 with about 30 minutes or so of cumulative breaks. I'm pretty toast now, time for SUJOPO

  20. We left right from work yesterday and made it to Manchester from the LV in 4:29. No issues but did miss an exit for a 3 minute delay. Motel back porch hot tub was a perfect 104° and jumped right in after the drive. Arrived right at 9 to Magic and grabbed our wicket passes. Ticket lady did ask if the person I was with was a “advanced skier” as it was very firm to start. I reassured her that yes she is and it can’t be worse than Blue Mountain. First two runs were firm but nothing crazy. Currently 46° but feels cooler. Groomers turned to corn after an hour and everything was soft by 11. No double blacks open but single diamonds are thin and spicy. Grabbing lunch at Black Line Tavern and heading back out for an afternoon session. @Boo Bearordered a loaded baked potato and I went with a burger. Killington tomorrow.

  21. When planning my first trip to Killington back in early 2017 (right before joining this forum), I was like "Oh my God, a 6+ mile trail! That's so neat". Good thing it was closed (due to conditions) at the time because I would still be bitching about it to this day if I had done it.

  22. They don’t allow grilling at camelback except for one day a year when they have their big tailgate party. Do you remember when you high fived a person dressed up as a camel at Camelback late in 2017??? That was awesome.

  35. Got there early today. Did 2 runs before it was full on spring skiing. I love spring skiing, but not in mid February. Skid marks on Main Street, Lazy and Switchback already. 😩. Stuck to the quad later in the morning and afternoon. Challenge, TCS and Razors were nice. After 19 runs, my legs were done. Nice tailgate session afterwards.

  36. Nah, I kind of want snow. As much as I enjoy sitting outside right now at work, we have only had a handful of a few winter days. I have a feeling it's going to be a cold and snowy April. But what do I know...

  37. Right now I'm 50/50 on March. If I go that'll be a quick trip...maybe 2 ski days since we're also going in July. Arizona is quickly becoming home away from home. Plan is to make it just home at some point.

  38. Drove up to Jay Friday with stops at Lawsons for lunch and Rock Art to break up the drive. As we approached Jay it started flurrying a bit. Since it was still early afternoon we checked out the band at The Bullwheel at the Stateside lodge before dinner. The wind was howling pretty good and maybe a little over an inch had fallen as we headed back down to Jay Village Inn. JVI maple glazed beef tips did not disappoint. Saturday was awesome with 6” or so of light fluff overnight. Got a few fresh tracks and lots of pow bumps and trees. Great snow all over but the best shin deep pow turns were found off jet between the race course and woods, the B netting acting like a snow fence. Lift lines were a bit tough in the morning but thinned out around lunch when the started running the tram and flyer. Sunday was a bit warmer in the mid/upper twenties. Groomers were good with a few slick spots peeking through as the day went on from the rain earlier in the week. You just had to poke around. Mrs S wanted to stick to the more mellow trees, Bonneventure and showcase were a lot of fun. Lifts were maybe a few chairs deep at worst and we probably lapped goat/green mountain boys/ bushwhacker 4-5 times as the snow was really nice. Legs were shot by around 1:30 with a quick tailgate charcuterie beak. The clouds never cleared as forecasted so we never did the planned tram ride. I took a walk to check out the the Jay town XC trails before ‘Bowl time , will bring the skinny sticks next trip. Set off Monday morning for a late morning stop at Berkshire East to break up the drive home. Gotta make that Indy pass worthwhile! Perfect timing as the bright sun, mid high 40’s and low crowds made for some soft smooth groomer cruising - country club skiing ! Reall cool area with some windy rolly polly trails and some nice pitch. Very enjoyable lunch stop to round out the trip.

  41. Flying can be stupid annoying and like everything else some of the employees are so dumb it's hard to comprehend but it is still flying. The alternatives aren't really alternatives and your still riding along half way to space drinking a soda and watching tv. It's so dope we totally take it for granted. Luggage on a ski trip can be a real pain in the ass but that's also on the skier. Fly with one kit and the essentials that are hard to rent carry on or your asking for trouble eventually.

  43. They just need to get through next week $$$ wise. After that it's all downhill. Can't see us skiing many days at blue in in March. On wed the snow at the base near the quad was so thin you could see grass. NMDW had holes as did lower paradise. Who even knows if they'll drop a pass early and advertise "ski the rest of this season and all of next" because there may not be much of a "this season" left.

  45. me and atomic Jeff were thinking first maybe second week in march for closing if it doesn’t get cold and snowy. Blue did save a shitload of money on snowmaking this year but probably sold 100,000 less tickets.
