You may not be but humans are social animals, left to our own devices and alone we suffer greatly. I can be as much a lone wolf as anyone, most people bore me terribly but for the last 15 years or so I get to share my experiences with a community of like minded people who are my friends. Real actual community in 2023. One of the best adventures of my life was with persons I hang out in the lot with. Nevermind the everyday, every weekend, year after year after year. Life is made tolerable by those you share it with and if I was dumb enough to have my values so out of whack that a couple hundred bucks is worth more than community then I believe I would be a miserable sack of shit exactly like you.7 points

I just renewed mine ...The gift card cut it down to $625...Can't really argue with that...Hoping this was just an outlier year with the weather..When Blue is firing on all cylinders it's super fun....A ski area is what you make it....And all the fools in the lot are just the cherry on top....7 points

I renewed my pass this morning. Just wanted to post in this thread so @theprogram4can tell me I suck too6 points

Ski2live: my children didn’t want to go to blue this weekend. PASRs: that’s fucking bullshit, I bet those kids wouldn’t diss blue to my face!6 points

this is hurtful. my one post was about the passes coming out to start this thread.5 points

Everyone posting in this thread (other than me of course) sucks. Ski2live sucks for too many reasons to list. You all suck for getting butt hurt that someone may want to ski more than 1 resort all year, and also for having the absurd notion that children want to go to the same resort every weekend. Grow up and do better everyone5 points

Thanks. I wanted to feel included. I was afraid TP4 was getting a little soft after getting a new job. You know how those insurance dorks are4 points

For me its the plain and simple fact i get to ski every weekend, its an easy commute from either direction, and the totally bizarre group i get to do it with. Of course i cant find it now, but i just saw a pic of Whitetail resort, and it definetly will make you appreciate Blues snowmaking. Granted, the temps are probably a tic lower than blues, but yikes. look at thier webcams. if i was them i would point them at the scrapple shack.4 points

50% of me feels bad as it wasn’t directed towards you, the other 50% of me is shrugging and saying “(e)war is hell” and sometimes there is collateral damage4 points

I am pretty sure I have a sinus infection now. Ugh. Day 9 of feeling lousy. But I have a friend here so skiing it is. I heard the last 2 days were the worst crowds people have seen here. Glad I skipped it. I left my friend at a lesson as he hasn’t skied in over 20 years, yikes. He gave me slightly different info when said he was coming. But he has a great attitude and I give him lots of credit for getting out there. Another poor visibility day. Headed right down to East River from Paradise. And to be honest it wasn’t too good down there either. Started dumping snow. After about 4 laps, I tried to find some mellow trees off the front side. Ran those a bit and now taking a break for lunch. If the visibility does not improve gonna call it a day. Snow was supposed to arrive tomorrow thru Wednesday night. Seems it’s early. Forecast is 10-20”. A few pics from the tree runs4 points

I like the terrain at blue, it's not the most challenging, but it's fun, and the variety keeps me satisfied (more bumps would be nice) I am happy with their snowmaking. Of course I would rather ski natural but I find it acceptable, blue does a good job defying the weather. I was good with the lifts before, now they are even better. Crowds can be an issue at a local hill like blue, but you just have to get your timing right. I like the people at blue even though I don't do the parking lot thing, yet. A couple things you didn't mention. The parking in the valley is nice, close proximity and a flat walk to the lifts. Last but not least, communing with fellow skiers/riders about blue here on PASR.3 points

My experience has been that the lift lines have been short all season, even on weekends. The quad seems to have been the most crowded one this year.3 points

Make sure you tell your "friend" about the "waiting in ridic lines at Blue and skiing the same 1000 footer every weekend." I would think advising your "friend" to buy an Epic pass would be the way to go.3 points

We know. Too expensive and you aren't buying one. You can see yourself out of this thread now. I'm sure there will be a Mega Indy epic iconic super saver cost calculation thread for you to spam.3 points

Holy shit. We had to buy Becky an adult season pass this year just to not have restrictions. So pleased to see the 9 and under option3 points

I won't give money to Vail and tried splitting time between Shawnee and Montage this year to see if it would be worth getting a pass at one and then hopping on the Indie Pass for travel options. But both are too far from the Philly suburbs and it wouldn't be worth the drive. Leaning towards getting this and then the Indie Pass as it's a fairly cheap add-on for travel options.2 points

If Blue somehow has a soft heart for uphillers this might be a pretty awesome weekend coming up.2 points
-
Total renegades! We commented over the weekend that uphill isnt allowed, but the mass of people just walking up the slopes to watch thier presious kids race, is more than cool. lol2 points

I try to keep it simple. I'm fortunate enough to live near a variety of areas but choose blue because it's what I prefer over anything else in the area. When I go out west lately I go to Arizona and ski Snowbowl because that's where my kid is. Easy peasy. I enjoy both places immensely so it works for me. Done.2 points

Maybe we should rename this thread the "NE Ski Multipass" thread so we don't have to tax the servers with a redundant new one. We can compare all the deals right here.2 points

Stay tuned for the ever exciting annual evaluation of relative ski pass options for next Skison now that Blue/Cbk have entered the first bid among the multipasses offering skiing within 3 hr drive of 086482 points

Yes, it’s included in the cost of a beginner lesson. They don’t sell them individually outside of that.2 points

I feel like this is pretty much when it comes out, just after pres day weekend. Keep in mind, offering it this year in march wont get much “ski the balance of this year”2 points

I was really on the fence over buying an epic pass, or a Blue pass, but thanks for helping me make up my mind knowing i wont see you at Blue!2 points

I stand corrected. It is a good value but as far as terrain goes. I can't see why I would go to CBK instead of Blue even though it's 20 min closer for me. The front 3 arent long enough and the mad horizontal gets old over the years.1 point

Good point. If I preferred skiing at Blue and Camelback to skiing at Hunter, Snow, Okemo, Stowe, Wildcat, Sunapee, Jack Frost, Whitetail, Roundtop, Keystone, Vail, Breckenridge and Beaver Creek, I would consider paying a bit extra for that privilige. Do you prefer skiing at Blue to skiing at that combo of areas or are you prioritizing a shorter drive/flight over what mountains you would prefer to ski at?1 point

I'm not pulling the trigger just yet. I want to wait and see if blue becomes iconic first. You never know.1 point

I had said the pass price would start with a 7. I was wrong, and can admit when i am wrong. But i was close, but close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, and diarrhea, i guess. the 2022/2023 thing at the top of the page is a little weird though. Typical for Blue, but weird1 point

The off peak season pass is different as well. I see a lot of the boomers buying that. Right now with Blues new pricing they are basically giving away a lot of money but it’s Goodwill..those 6-9 year olds that get $50 season passes will be future race kids and jib honks and Blue fanboys and girls. They won’t take in as much revenue as normal but miles and miles of goodwill which doesn’t show up on a balance sheet.1 point

I ran from one to the other. I had always considered the Gunnison flight being a problem, and i must have been a little sleepy when i thought there was another DFW-PHL flight like an hour after my scheduled flight, but second look showed that was incorrect. i spent a small amount of time trying to come up with plan B, in case i got to DFW late, but the options sucked bad. So, yeah, i was the asshole on the plane yelling at people to get thier shit together and get off the plane or get out of the way. I was going to do whatever it took to make that flight.1 point
