Hey All, I’m back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 7:15am and in the house were PARidge, JFDan, Atomic Jeff, Mute, BenM, Ryan, Boo Bear, Becky Boo, Nancy, Schifdawg, MBike Mike, Nastar Glenn, Bethlehem Ford Crew, Dirtwolf, VTMark, TP4 and many others. It was in the low 20s under overcast sky’s and they were blowing snow on Coming soon, Paradise, Nightmare-Dreamweaver, Skytop, Tuts Lane, Lazy Mile, Main Street, Burma and some other runs not noted. It was an all out snowmaking assault operation Blizzard 2.0 in full affect. Second civilian OG six pack and first run on Challenge which was alright..consistent hardpack snow but a little rolly Polly, the random gun after the falls was blowing out decent snow. Next run on switchback was very pleasant until the Main Street merge which had guns blasting followed by a slick spot and just kind of messy. Coming soon had the best snow on the hill and you could avoid the snowguns by staying right..lower paradise had guns blasting and various whoop Dee doos and root rollers..right side better than left. I repeated Switchback and it got much rougher with deep sugar, coming soon stayed good and the top head wall of challenge showed exposed boilerplate, middle section was good and a big death cookie after the falls would have sent me ass over teakettle if I wasn’t such an agile mofo. My foot was bugging me on lift rides a little but on the ski runs not bad. Fun parking lot with beer, chips, cheeseballs(both human and food), beef sticks and Girl Scout cookies. Was a cold lot and after a few minutes I needed my gloves. All in all a tiny bit better than expected but expectations were low. I think tomorrow AM will be decent once they groom In all the new manmade snow. JADIP3 points

Day 1 - Nakiska Up at usual time as back in PA, so no difference for me. Continental breakfast at the Comfort Inn included scrambled eggs, Canadian sausage, blueberry and chocolate muffins. Just over and hour drive out to Nakiska and the home of their Winter Olympics with the wind howling and 9 degrees. In the house was Slim, Drew, Gary, Gah skier George and George Jr. And old Blue Mountain groomer Danny in from Mt. Hood. Took it pretty easy on the first few runs to see what was what and check out the snow conditions, which was a few inches of fresh here and there with some hard pack around. Rode the lift with some Calgary natives who told us that we were lucky coming this week as the mountain was pretty barren just a week or so ago. They had just got about 12” last week which covered everything nicely. Lapped the Silver chair a few times and found some wind blow. By the tree line which made for some fun. It felt like home as there were racers everywhere! Got bored of the Silver chair and headed down to lap the Gold chair. The lift line had bumps galore, so we lapped that a few times. Decided to head to the Monster Glades and found ample stashes of powder in the trees. Broke early for a snack and since it was the first day and still had to drive to the house, grocery, beer and edible shopping. Peaced out around 2 and headed for the house in Canmore.2 points

Imagine if Robert2 was your Uber driver. Id put in mauch chunk road to go to grumpys and id end up in Jim Thorpe and id still leave a $3 tip maybe even $5 cause that’s a long ride and he’d probably complain I took several of his werthers originals when he wasn’t looking..they’re good.2 points

Robert2 would have the low down on how to get to Blue car or not without walking. We need his wisdom back in the community!2 points

Appreciate it, it feels incredible to be back. I'm turning 38 now. Landing progressive stuff in the park again takes me back 20 years. Awesome, look forward to meeting the PASR crew again and cool to hear there are some other fish heads 🐟 🐠.2 points

Is your statue going to be located next to @theprogram4’s or will it be located elsewhere on the mountain?2 points

ROTD was running gunpow laps in the TCS ditch, worked up an appetite for BMDI bacon egg and pepper jack with tots on a Kaiser for the ride home On the ride up I saw a badaass camper a few cars ahead but I turned off on Grouse. It ended up in the lot across the street and had to check it out on the way out1 point

Someone must have been fishing in the snowmaking ponds without a license and also fell in and needed rescue 🥶😵💫1 point

Yup. The last time I was in the podiatry office the doctor suggested new balance foam sole based shoes and I’ve had 3-4 pairs of them over the last 4 years and they seem to help immensely. anything with a slimmer sole or flat sole hurts the hell out of my foot after a few hours.1 point

Maybe some sort of sprain but whatever it is, it’s healing fast..I have a little bit of a limp but the other day I was hobbling around and almost went to foot doctor. I know you had bad foot issues for many months after your injury…you still slutted it up with two different sized boots. Game recognize game. Reminds me of when I hurt my shoulder bad enough to go to the ER and was put on a sling and a few days later was back out for Nastar fueled by weed and Vicodin..and ended up crashing and taking out the timing laser. Cool story Hansel.1 point

Today was great early on. Then the snow got sorta weird and the crowds became large. Around 9ish no matter where you went someone was there in front of you. Not bad overall however. Good to see snowmaking all over. Even a few natural flakes fell from the sky today. And as GSS mentioned...CS was the run of the day and has been the run of the year for me, night or day it's been fairly consistent.1 point

I was nervous about that sort of snow at Blue but the stuff they blew was medium density as opposed to the sticky icky that sends people ass over teakettle. Good everywhere is blowing. This mini cold snap will likely keep us all skiing and riding locally an extra week or two.1 point

Fun couple hours this morning getting glazed by the snow guns. Nice to be scraping my goggles off again and brushing the chair cushions before sitting down. Any other season I’d be whining about inconvenience. Got to use my Head gloves thumb feature, perfect for cleaning of the lenses. Sasquatch was nice but with one of the carpet slopes was closed so I couldn’t lap Sasquatch. Cool wave clouds , mentally surfing them.1 point

It’s up to Mother Nature to determine that. With the way the weather has been, I’m happy with what Blue has done but I’d hate for them to close before camelback and have to slum it there.1 point

I wish, I even went to bed early but right before route 12 something was in the road. Blew a tire and ripped a cv boot.....mother fucker but what can you do. I'll be up tomorrow if they finish in time or I get so annoyed at not skiing and having 2 cars in the shop I just fucking walk.0 points
