  1. While I'm not big on writing long trip reports..I am almost ready to land in Seattle for a quick 3 day trip to visit a friend and hopefully get two days on my snowboard before catching a red-eye back to EWR Friday night. I plan to hit up Crystal Mountain and Snoqualmie (Apental). At minimum some pictures to follow.

  2. Hey All, I’m back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. 22 was all backed up and I don’t love the cut through from 309 to 145 with morning traffic so I drove through the lovely town of slatington to Mountain View road..it’s been years since I took that Root. On the drive up I rocked out to Baby Bash and T Pain. Arrived at the lower lot at 830am and it was in the low 30s with 20-30mph winds. In the house were Johnny Law, Atomic Jeff, C1 and the Bethlehem ford crew minus Bethlehem ford guy. First civilian super summit safari six pack to Main Street which was smooth cord with some skeet spots. Up the quad to nightmare dreamweaver which had nice snow but was in a wind tunnel. Coming soon had the best snow on the hill..smooth, semi firm and I think they blew a little bit. I repeated coming soon a few times, did challenge once which was decent while razoes looked horrible..then back to main and back to coming soon. All in all a fun session, the snow was easily a 7.5-8 out of 10. There were a lot of instructors around the hill but otherwise pretty empty.

  3. Snow, birthright beers and pizza were ok but lift riding with mute fam and skies were stellar!

  4. 10x better tonight then last night. Met up @Dirtwolf for some laps and had a good time. Still had a couple skeet spots and brown holes, but enough grip to make it fun. Only picture I took was a Sable with double mattress on top pulling in.

  6. If you took two trips there it’s worth it I want to look into next seasons Ikon pass as well if it allows skiing this season anywhere in the late spring. Probably belongs in another thread but summer trips to places like mammoth California is a real possibility or even Tahoe..just giant seasons..Snowbird Utah might make the summer.

  7. The Ikon in spring with a new pass purchase typically lets you ski at the Alterra owned mountains in April or beyond, So nearby Sugarbush or Stratton, out west, Winter Park, Copper, Steamboat, Mammoth, Squawlpine for sure. No Snowbird as that's a partner mountain, same with Killington. Mammoth and Squawlpine should go late this year so could get your money's worth there.

  8. Just got home from a fun afternoon at Blue The True! Arrived at the lower lot at 1pm and didn't notice any recognizable life in the PASR area nor where some friends park so off I went to venture the whole mountain including the extreme double black terrain all on my own. Snow was quite nice and back to what you would expect for an average mid March winters day. There was a rebuild in Come Around with the rainbow box replacing the battleship up top for those interested. All in all JADIP. 😇

  9. Today was soooo nice and it's a rare day at blue where it has surpise depth. First run I went NM/DW and I almost couldn't believe it was untracked titty sparkles. It probably snowed about 2" but the wind made for deeper turns on more sheltered lines and it was a most excellent way to start the day.

  13. I forgot to add the mens room chatter was of a highly technical instructor certification taking place today. Must explain why there were so many blue coats out earlier. Crowds were very light and I never had to share a chair.

  15. Hard to believe such large resorts only have a few lifts.

  16. Nice to see Epic Local now has reduced price for teens. Bye Bye Indy. Epic for 3 (unless Ikon adds in PA)

  18. Def not as soft tonight as it was today. Had some sugar, glacial, and firm crud to play in tonight. Windy af and they surprised us with turning the guns on around 630. Guns at top were only filling in the Appalachian Trail and the lower guns went straight into the trees so hopefully the winds quit to make it worth it. Lazy was the ROTN and even got to share a lift with mBike and Mrs Bunski ✔️ Last pic is the unmarked 4 foot hole on lower sidewinder.

  20. So sick at Jack Frost! About 5 or 6 inches of untracked on Floyd's, River Shot and Challenge. Only maybe two dozen people on the expert side. Best day of skiing in NEPA this season so far, by a long shot.

  22. I just looked up the exchange rate is $1.38 Canadian to $1 US. Id definitely hit up a Canadian ATM would be rad to take out $200 and only have $140 disappear from my account. Props to Indiggio for a top notch report!!! Probably the second best one of the season.

  26. Drove up last night to see friends and family and then stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Dickson City. Ate dinner at Burrito Loco Cantina right down the street and it was pretty good. Table side fresh made guac and got the spicy pork tacos. Boo got tacos el pastor. There was a Primanti Bros within walking distance and I wish I knew that before deciding on Mexican. Ate the free hot breakfast at the hotel and then 30 minute drive to Elk. Upper lot was full so had to boot up and take the shuttle to redeem the passes. Standing in ski boots in corrals on the back of that truck is probably the most technical thing I had to do today. Learned they had the state slalom championship going on once we were on the snow and it was packed with racers. That combined with those fixed doubles helped us decide to stay lookers right and lap the quad. Those doubles reminded me how much I don’t miss dragging a kid on the MS/Burma chairs at Blue. Spoiled with the detachables now. Snow started thicc sugar but soften up with the temperature. Everything was running good and max 1 minute wait for the quad. For the amount of cars we were surprised how empty it felt. Did everything on that side besides Upper Tunkhannock. Skiers right looked pretty good when we so the boys on it Did 8ish runs and went to the Winter Garden Restaurant for lunch. Margarita flatbread was terrible but buff chicken dip and chili were pretty good. Caught up to @mbike-skiand @NastarGlennfor a couple runs on Tecumseh and Kickapoo after lunch. The kid is fearless now and handled everything grate. Split with the boys for 1 last run and Becky Boo said her legs were tired walking back to the car. Mission accomplished. 95 minutes lot to house to complete the trip to Vermont without the drive.

  27. Pretty much the entire north face is ungroomed. Boomer and smoke are both bumped up...cannonball is looking rough but its soft snow at least. Rattler is ok, half assed groomed.

  30. Had a really fun day at Camelback yesterday with my cousin. Snowed most of the morning and did 18 runs spread all over the mtn on 4 different lifts. Crispy chicken sammy for lunch. The Sullivan express f*cking flys. The new 6 pack is a beautiful lift but might also be the most terrifying lift I’ve ever been on. Often makes hard emergency stops and bounces more than any lift I’ve been on. Bouncing what seems like 10’ up and down.

  32. You may not be but humans are social animals, left to our own devices and alone we suffer greatly. I can be as much a lone wolf as anyone, most people bore me terribly but for the last 15 years or so I get to share my experiences with a community of like minded people who are my friends. Real actual community in 2023. One of the best adventures of my life was with persons I hang out in the lot with. Nevermind the everyday, every weekend, year after year after year. Life is made tolerable by those you share it with and if I was dumb enough to have my values so out of whack that a couple hundred bucks is worth more than community then I believe I would be a miserable sack of shit exactly like you.
