Day 1 at Crystal Mountain,. Arrived at Crystal Mountain around 10:00am after a 2.5 hour drive from my friend's house near Olympia. Not terribly crowded on the slopes but park lots were full and it was a pretty good hike to the lodge from the main lot. Kept pretty low-key and stuck mostly to groomers. Visibility was not great and was pretty non-existent at the summit. The gondola was shut down around 1130 due to winds. Overall, the snow was decent, only found a few slick spots later in the day, but nothing terrible I did not feel their groomed terrain was that steep compared to Utah. The abundance of evergreen trees reminded me of Elk( HAHA).. Road mostly off the Ranier Express and the Forrest Queen Express.. A few pictures.. hard to take much at higher elevation due to fog. You should be able to see Mt Ranier, but no luck today9 points

Accuweather is only showing around an inch for blue mountain but possibly more snow starting Sunday night. Greek Peak is 3-6 tonight and maybe another 3-6 starting Sunday...could be good there3 points

Just got home from another afternoon in paradise. Arrived at Blue The True at Twenty to Two. Hey, that rhymed, if I had GSS skills I'd finish this report as a steezy rap. Anyhow at first the snow was super sticky and glue like in spots but as soon as the sun angle changed it sped up again. The sun was shining bright and everything was nice and edgable including Razors which was bumped up a bit at the top from the skeezers enjoying making lots of turns on it. Spent most of the day lapping Nile Mile training body mechanics doing flat ground spins and budders in every direction. All in all JADIP.2 points

The quad lift line was basically dirt. Maybe 1/2" of snow to speak of. Coming Soon was the ROTD for me. Could crank turns straight down the fall line right into Paradise.2 points

Correct. Even up here in the highlands of MacAdoodle, the snow is wet and heavy unlike the magical weightless fluffy western perder I skied last Tuesday.1 point

honestly, we may get lucky. It's supposed to wrap around with more precip after 4am. Could give a dusting for opening or a cpl in. I'm thinking it'll clear out earlier than expected and leave nothing of value. Either way I'm happy to skee1 point

That concrete will ski grate and blend in with the loose and frozen granular below…time to play some Xmas music..1 point

Well not meaningless you still get to see it..a little taste of winter. It’s rain here in the valley. Looking like rain at the base of Blue and snow at the peak.1 point

I hope the prior engagement is good and aside from some chatter here, I don’t remember Blue posting anything about the SP lunch…I’m not going, I like the streak of not going to the top lodge.1 point

Depends on if you think skiing 3 inches of fresh snow on Frost's terrain is better than skiing an inch of fresh snow on Blue's terrain. Especially with maybe two weekends of skiing in PA left, I know what I would pick. Also have to factor in free lunch tomorrow in the Vista ballroom (don't forget to RSVP!)1 point

Whatever the widget on my phone or tablet links to. I think it's AccuWeather. I thought I saw a winter storm advisory for us and a warning for further south. If your forecast above becomes reality then definitely JFBB is the move. Side note. School's are closing early.1 point

Not trying to jinx anything but Saturday continues to look like it may be a good day at Blue.1 point

Sunday for me unless it looks like a good amount of snow for Saturday....then maybe I'll switch my plans around1 point

Hit the hill with Hayata this morning. Started on a smooth and nicely edgeable Free Fall, paradise from there down was a little rough, Challange up next, really nice, smooth and grippy ROTD. Scoped Razers from the lift, looked rock solid. Nobody was skiing it so we passed on it. Ran NM/DW which was mostly good, a little rough just above the big curve. Lazy was very nice left and right side. Switchback was great except the sticky spot at the very end leading to a slick boiler plate area on main. The bumps on Main were good with some fresh blown on them, but still some to the turf holes in the middle. Headed back for more challenge which was even better. Tried razors which had softened up beautifully. Great day.1 point

Had a nice first day at Taos Ski Valley. Kids are in ski school for the next 3 days so I skied a bunch with my wife and kids today. Was nice and sunny and about 3-4 inches of new snow to start. Kachina peak lift opened around lunchtime and we decided it was time to take my son up there. He skied Main Street to Nastar Chute and handled it great. Since that went well I could see he was ready for another extreme steep, Castor. Skied a lot of trees and groomers and all in all a great day. Got lots of pics of my son. Need to get the little son of a bitch to take some of me next time.1 point

I prefer the 19th. Me and Schif arrive to PHL on Sunday 3/19 at 6:30am.. we’ll be jacked up on Red Bull but we’ll make it to the lot for the blue sess of the season.0 points
