TLDR: we landed in Denver Wednesday. We’re tourist. And read snow reports. ——- on Wednesday, @Schif and I left for Denver. Our flight was at 6:40pm, so we finished up some work then boarded an American Airlines flight. My brother (Brian) picked us up and we went to his house in north Denver. On Thursday, we worked remotely, exchanged some texts with @Barb and toured around Boulder. As we drove towards Boulder, the golden hour hit the Rockies and it was gorgeous. Can’t seem to find that pic - although it wouldn’t do it justice. We checked out Chautauqua Park, walked around CU Boulder near the football field, and poked around Pearl Street briefly. We didn’t see anyone stealing a mattress from their roommate in Boulder though. We stopped at Lifetime in Superior for a quick workout and headed back to Thornton. We ate dinner at the house, had a Spiked Seltzer, read some upcoming snow reports from Open Snow, and went to bed early. —— Friday was similar. We worked remotely but we stopped at Red Rocks. We walked up and down the steps and throughout the park. Colorado’s altitude to humbling to say the least. Red Rocks was undergoing construction but it was still amazing as always. We stopped at Total beverage. The place is huge. It’s as if Roger Wilco got his PhD from an ivy. The selection is incredible. We hit up some free samples before picking up beers and champagne. For dinner, we went to my favorite restaurant Esters. It’s near my old house. I love the vibe but also love their fat tire nachos. We loaded up gear and went to bed for an early alarm clock. Spoiler alert: Saturday was amazing. After 25 years of shredding the Poconos, Schif had his first powder day. And I won a Never Summer snowboard.11 points

Hey All, I’m back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 715am and it was 26 degrees under mostly cloudy sky’s. In the house was everybody except for Schifdawg, Nancy, Airhead, Sibhusky, Barb, Zonked, Noxidee, Phillycore, Angryhugo and Metz the Jersey Boy. They blew snow all over including Main Street, lazy mile, paradise and in the OG six pack lift line. Second Civilian chair and started on Razors which was nice at the top but was choppy and not so good lower down. Coming soon was really nice and I skied that twice then over to the super summit safari six pack and did Main Street which wasn’t that good then lazy mike which was decent. I alternated between coming soon, lazy and switchback which was also nice. Skied about a dozen runs then hungout in the lot and drank some beer and it was also another sausage sunday. What made the sausage Sunday extra savory was when BenM whipped out a bunch of hot dog on the third lift ride to gobble down. It was my first lift glizzy and was quite the delicious experience. Weather was a 10000% improvement over yesterday and the snow was maybe the same. Switch and coming soon were good and the ditch was great. Man it is like black hole kinda dark there in the morning post dls. Massive massive addition to our live styles of the rich and famous, lift hot dogs ! Hot hot dogs on the lift are 12/10 and as always Enjo put on a feast....I came home stuffed8 points

March 11, 2023 - part 2 we got in line at 8am. Chair opened at 8:30am. lots of hoots and cheers. some people skinned up and skied down. Sometimes it was ski patrol coming down. Here’s a video of ski patrol with the crowd clapping. the line for lift 1 (aka Chet’s dream) was surprisingly short. quick selfie for our family text thread. Almost immediately the four of us got separated in the lift line and just like that - no friends on a powder day. it was deep, like knee to waist deep. It was incredible. @Schif will add color but it was great snow all around. The lifts were opening gradually and somehow we got the luck where 6, 4, 8, 9, opened shortly after we got there. There was powder to be found everywhere. the clouds started to move and blue sky shines through. Ski tracks were starting to form everywhere. This was probably the most people ever in front of me. The lift lines were near non existent. More line pics. Loveland is awesome. I stopped briefly at the hut off of lift 8 around 11am. Still untracked lines existed. we eventually started skiing together’ish towards the end of the day. Cheeks are red from the wind burn or maybe it’s from the smiling. I got this short video of Schif ripping down 9 (?) or maybe off of life 4. This is already really long … part 3 coming5 points

March 11, 2023 - part 3 Oops that last pic was the first run of the day line. I meant to delete it. —— so after my legs turned to jello, I strolled into the lodge. In the cafeteria, Toyota had a booth where they were giving away 2 snowboards daily and a big raffle at the end season for a car. so. you enter your info on an iPad and you can get sunglasses, a buff, or hand warmers. So we all snagged a cool pair of Loveland shades. then you go to the table where there’s a bunch of stickers. And if you turn over one with a Toyota logo, you win a free Never Summer snowboard. I was like - really? So you just flip it and you get to walk away with it? and that’s what happened 🤷🏼♀️ crazy thing is … my brother won a Never Summer splitboard early season at a ski party. Then gave it to @Schif. So kinda funny that we’re 2 for 2 in snowboard giveaways. this is the women’s proto type 2 with custom graphics of the Colorado C from the state flag. I haven’t snowboarded since 2012’ish. since we’re going to Vail for a few days, I’m going to put bindings on it and take it for a spin. All in all - amazing day. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ powder day to remember + a free snowboard. … anyway - Saturday ended with me giving Schif a quick tour of downtown Denver including the Union Station (because trains), Coors Field, Larmier Street, 16th Street, and LoHi. at the house, we had some air fryer chicken and veggies then headed to bed by 9:30pm for some more Sunday skiing.4 points

Saturday, March 11, 2023 All week we were getting messages from Brian. He subscribes to Open Snow. The stoke was high. Brian, Kaitlyn (his fiancé), @Schif and myself were out of the house by 5:15am. the drive took 1hr 45min with the traffic and we were in the lot by 7:05am. People who left Denver late had a drive time of 3+ hours. I-70 was congested but stoke was still high. We got there plenty early. The Loveland snow stake was reading about 11” Somehow Spotify knew our energy and queue’d up Its Gonna Be a Good Day by Nappy Roots as we were booting up. The hype and stoke was incredible. We snagged breakfast in the lodge. Let’s have a moment of silence to admired Loveland breakfast. Prices are cheaper than the east coast and hands down delicious. Brian got the basin breakfast. Schif got a burrito with green chili. And me & Kaitlyn split one. more to come… I’m waiting for some videos to load4 points

Late session after bouncing back from a nasty respiratory virus. Fast mashed multicolor potatoes . Sasquatch was nice with some slushy bumps. The whole mountain skied pretty well. Things are quite variable with mud to 3’ base . I hope that they can get to the weekend. I’m not sure if this was my last day or not but I’m going to miss the F lift dance party music. Maybe next year they can add strobes and a mirror ball.2 points

Day 1 at Crystal Mountain,. Arrived at Crystal Mountain around 10:00am after a 2.5 hour drive from my friend's house near Olympia. Not terribly crowded on the slopes but park lots were full and it was a pretty good hike to the lodge from the main lot. Kept pretty low-key and stuck mostly to groomers. Visibility was not great and was pretty non-existent at the summit. The gondola was shut down around 1130 due to winds. Overall, the snow was decent, only found a few slick spots later in the day, but nothing terrible I did not feel their groomed terrain was that steep compared to Utah. The abundance of evergreen trees reminded me of Elk( HAHA).. Road mostly off the Ranier Express and the Forrest Queen Express.. A few pictures.. hard to take much at higher elevation due to fog. You should be able to see Mt Ranier, but no luck today2 points

That stinks. I would've tried it myself anyway just to check. I haven't been impressed with the Blue shop this season. If you're shopping for new though I'll vouch for outdoorxl.com. I just got those Sender 94s from them, mounted with Pivot 15s for at least $100 less than I saw anywhere else, even with $80 shipping. And I ordered on Tuesday and they arrived Friday.1 point

Loveland has fantastic breakfast prices. Mad props for being early birds..it’s all I know.1 point

All depends on the type of bindings you have. Like @enjoralas said, if it's the skis in the pic, you'll probably be able to get the necessary movement. Pivots on the other hand...lots of luck as they don't have a lot of travel. Nice boots regardless!1 point

It wasn't bad at all and this time around they had plenty of food. There was no way I was going up for more, but others did seconds and had some doggie-bag cookies to go.1 point

I zoomed in, assuming for the ski in the back, looks like SPX 12. Pretty sure you will have enough range with that, and it's easy to adjust. If you're skiing/riding Blue tomorrow bring skis and boots and we can take care of it or rule out success at the very least1 point
-
You'll be able to get 12mm out of most bindings, typically all in the heel so you'll be a bit more forward that before. Do you know what bindings you have now?1 point

Lunch doesn’t look bad. And who can argue about a free hazy IPA.1 point

Late night offer I couldn't refuse....Same size as my other FT..but has a shorter BSL..by 12mm....I know shit about bindings...Anyone know if that difference can be adjusted out in the binding...Really don't want to do a remount...would rather by new skis/bindings Any opinions on bindings...Mostly resort ...Maybe 10% off resort if that.... Out of the box they feel good...They're hella stiffer than my old boots....I'm psyched...1 point

Coming up over the top first thing this am was absolutely spectacular, the snow caked trees gave it a real Christmas at the north pole kinda look. Switch I thought was really good full speed uneven and they added a 3rd spot to get air which I always appreciate. Coming Soon and the middle ditch in particular were very good. The weather wasn't the best to sit around in and you couldn't see shit for awhile but with the multi color snow no need to see it anyways. Major props to Dirty for the Heady Topper, one of the absolute best.1 point

Placed my bets on JF today and it was just OK... not Grate like on Tuesday. They must have groomed after some snowfall because the snow on the trails was about half as deep (3") as the snow in the parking lot (6"). Got there at 8:00 sharp and immediately hiked the steep hill to the Expert Lift (eastern side) for a nice fresh untracked run down Floyd's. It was grate. Then met up with a friend of a friend, who is now a friend, and we skied an untracked River Shot which was amazing. Those were the only 2 untracked runs really. It got crowded faaaast and by 9:30 there were about 100 people in line. The A-Lift was INOP for the morning which made it exhausting to traverse to the western slopes, which were less crowded and skied just as nice as the X-Pert slopes. We left after 2 hours since the short runs and loooong lift rides started to get boring. Also the snow wasn't deep enough for glades like Happy Land. All in all an OK day at JF, JAD-IP.1 point

On the road to Loveland now, about 30 min out - getting there around 6:40am. We’ll eat some lodge breakfast and get in line early for the 8am chair. open snow was predicting 1-3 feet of snow. Loveland’s website said at 5am there was 7” in the past 12 hours, and 10” in the past 24 hours. JDAIP1 point

Friday 2/24: We flew United from PHL to Denver flight 3:30pm flight. The airplane seemed old and didn't even have movies to watch which sucked. We arrived with no issues. I think it was in the 40's when we landed. We got off the flight and headed towards baggage. Our bags showed up very quickly and so did our ski bags. Unfortunately, we saw a guy take a ski bag that looked exactly like ours but we assumed he would have checked the sticker. He clearly didn't because we grabbed "our" ski bag only to find out it wasn't ours. So we rushed to customer service who called and got in touch with the person. He was on this way to his rental car so he eventually looped back around. It was really frustrating because who doesn't check the name on the bag. He was very apologetic though. We headed over to Budget to get our 4runner. It took quite a while but no issues. We were finally on our way to Breckenridge around 8/9pm. Dark drive but clear roads which I was thankful about. Our house was about 15 minutes outside of Breck and sat about 11,500 in elevation so we were all huffing and puffing. Saturday 2/25: We slept in a little bit and headed to the mountain around 9am only to find traffic was terrible because it was a gorgeous blue bird day. After about 45 minutes of driving and finding parking, we got a spot and finally headed to the gondola to hit the mountain. Perfect day of skiing. A bit warm but we cruised blues all day on Peak 7 and 8 with 2 of the people who aren't super great skiers. We stopped for lunch and a beer than headed back out for more runs. We ended up calling it quits around 3pm. He headed back to the house and sat in the hot tub. The other half of the group went off and skied alot of the mountain. it was super crowded since it was such a nice day but it was a nice low key day Sunday 2/26: A lot less crowded. We had no issues driving into town and finding parking. We were on the mountain around 9:30am with clear blue skies again. We skied Peaks 7 and 6. We ended up calling it a day around 1pm so my husband and I could walk around town and grab food and drinks. We had hopes of doing a group dinner in town Saturday night but it was snowing pretty hard. By the time we were ready to leave 1 car was stuck in the snow so we stayed in and made dinner. Monday 2/27: Best day of skiing. No crowds, fresh snow, blue skies. We got to the mountain early and took a few easy runs to warm up. We did a bunch of tree runs. After lunch we headed up the t-bar to horseshow bowl. We got on the t-bar and Nick sat a little hard and the bar disappeared from my behind and I was dropped haha Luckily it was only about 20 feet so we skied back down and got in line again. Second attempt at the t-bar was successful. We had alot of fun in the bowls. We skied until close and took the easy trail all the way down to the parking lot. The group met up and we headed to dinner at the Kenosha Steakhouse. Food was alright but good atmosphere. It was our last night so we ate and walked around a bit. Tuesday 2/28: Flight home was uneventful. It was a fun trip. I hadn't been out west skiing in a few years so it was nice to be back. That's all I got for now.1 point
