  2. I rode this morning, classic PA day, grey and windy and colder than the temps. They blew last night maybe but to little effect. There was some blown on some ti rarees and slow spots but only the same stuff was open. All the north face stuff went but was closed for 10ft patches of brown. I rode everything open but mostly cannonball a thousand times. It was a super fun rolly Brownstown with a little bit of ripping. Absolutely nobody was there but super nice of them to stay open.

  5. Wrapping up a nice afternoon riding the flobee lift back to the lot visiting The Taj for the first time today. I was saddened to find the top to bottom lift was not open nor was there a full snow path to get from the top of Flobee to the Iron Horse lift to make the experience feel like a larger mountain. They had made some snow last night and the first chair I found was the Iron Horse which let me to a park vacant of features and a few hard cord groomers. Not a big fan of the boomer groomers I went in search of the steeps which oddly on this mountain are at the bottom section 😳. The only trail open was Cannonballs which I lapped about 16 or 17 times. The snow on Cannonballs was a mix of chunky hard to spring corn depending if it was in the shade or hit by the sun. To me Cannonballs was worth the $40 price of admission. Looks like they will have more open tomorrow. Next up Camelback Sunday. No people anywhere till after 5. All in all a great late spring day at The Taj!

  6. How can anyone complain about a season pass price increase when your mountain announces that they are expanding snowmaking capacity by 30%? That’s pretty awesome. Now they just need to get rid of the orange lights and we’re set.

  7. Blue Sucks. @Ski2Live Live2Ski They are using the JFBB calculator. 30% X 3 trails X 3 times more trails X 8.34 divided by the Average # of layovers for a Frontier flight over the average lay over time. Its really simple math when you think about it.

  8. The East Coast's Best Snowmaking System is Getting Even Better! This just in: Blue Mountain is making a multi-million dollar investment in snowmaking upgrades for the 2023/24 Ski Season! These upgrades will bring YOU more snow sooner, even against Mother Nature! Our opening capacity will increase by another 30%, bringing 3x more trails online for opening weekend than were ever able to open. Your favorite trails like Razor's Edge, Falls, and Lazy Mile will open much earlier too!

  11. We used to hike a bit, but after my husband got attacked and mauled by a grizzly he lost interest in hiking. I mostly garden. We've also sold the boat. Since Covid, the tourist situation has gotten pretty bad. The reservation system at the Park has resulted in more people in town and in the remaining state and national forests as well. I keep hoping they will go back to video games. Now my daughter and son-in-law are avid four season mountain bikers. Whitefish has an extensive trail network in the area plus the stuff at the resort. They live down in the Bitterroot, which also has plenty of trails. He hunts in the fall. There are lakes, rivers, golf courses, galore. Really, you need to ask what isn't here: Sports teams, malls, an interstate, not many museums.

  12. Any car that is loved by Demolition Derby Dudes is a durable car, but safety is actually pretty low on the list. https://www.hotcars.com/crown-victoria-best-demolition-derby-cars/ But dark tinted windows should come in handy too.

  19. @sibhusky If you dont mind me asking, what sort of offseason (as in non - ski season) outdoor activities do you get involved in? I would imagine the summers are amazing and very beautiful there, Minus the tourists around Glacier Park. Whether up in MT or WY I someday want to head out and do one of those day long horse ride tours.... #rawhide

  21. Skied Snowmass today. 5" overnight. Was very soft underneath after they got 20"+ a few days ago. Could point them straight down anything and you wouldn't feel any bumps. Did Gowdys like 6 times today.
