We hit the Buckman sale for the grandkids, got 2 pairs of skis and 2 pairs of boots. Skis were really rough looking but an hour on my workbench and the edges and bases look like new. I think the total cost on the skis was like $15 so a great purchase! The Buckman tune up costs look high to me, just saying. Hitting bases with a grind and edges with grinds does a great job shortening the life of the ski IMHO. I prefer light file and diamond hone to keep edges versus grinds and heavy filing.
Has anyone ever heard of Hok skis? I just had breakfast with some of the local women of Marble and this seems to be the preferred winter activity. They are a fat, short ski with a built in skin. You also ski downhill with the skin. These ladies get together and do this several days per week. I asked if I could just use my touring skis with skins snd rip them as usual for the downhill. I was met with some strange looks. Lol. It looks like you don’t really do a ski “tour” per se, more like some hilly XC tracks.

Lots of new things going on this summer- repaving parking lot, multiple new HVAC rooftop units, new maintenance building for maintaining groomers etc, new water making piping for main face, new electric for lighting on some trails, and best of all, at least one trailer full of new snow making machines! Think snow!
Nice work by the indy pass to step up and work to keep black mountain open for this year to find a new owner. I hope this works out for everybody involved.

WF is adding a new lift. Bear den to mid mountain. Interesting set up and something different coming off of the peak…can cruise into bear den from the top and easily get back up to mid mountain. Gives you something different if taking a full T2B run.
