  1. Some of the local ladies said there was just enough snow to XC at the Marble Mill site Park. They used their HOK skis but I was anxious to try out my Madshus. They have so much glide to them! In the first 5 minutes we went down a very small hill, and down I went. lol. By the next small hill I figured out how to descend without falling. Not graceful, but I got down it. The park is where they used to process Marble. There are a lot of random pieces carved and the old marble foundation pieces. 15 degrees and brilliant sunshine! Snow moving in this weekend. What a great spot that is a 10 min drive from my house to get some quick cardio in! These 2 ladies are in their 70’s but getting out there in a regular basis. I hope to be this active at their age. Plus they have such great stories.

  7. Got our Belleayre tix for Friday! $218 for 3 (including the RFID cards). Keeping the streak alive - 8 years in a row of skiing in November. First time my kids will do the driving.

  8. I doubt it at opening. I made the mistake of going on a less popular holiday monday once and it wasn't the worst. Saturday will be busier I would image, I've never gone on a weekend. If your just testing gear though, who cares it is legit snow on a legit little slope.

  11. basically mud puddles at the valley now. We all know Blue has a huge snowmaking system. supposedly 14,000 or 15,000 GPM. I think its bigger than Killington, and we have seen them put on a show. Hopefully we see that when conditions are right. But here is your fun info for the day. Seven Springs is supposedly 30,000 GPM.

  12. Those clear and cold nights (Wed, Thu, Fri) look promising. Monday night looks humid. Tuesday transitional, might get some production.

  13. I would not recommend a Holiday Weekend at Big Snow unfortunately. Any normal midweek day is JADIP. Bellayre would be the play for this Friday for anyone who must make turns nearby.

  14. The cold will come, the night of Zee Lights will come. Opening day being fun for all of one hour as the 8 open trails which really mean 1.5 trails get boring and/or skied off will come. I'm going to enjoy one more weekend of sleeping in before the inevitability of waking up early and constantly having beer in my car sets in.
