  2. Today was so much fun. Perhaps the best session of the season so far for me. Spent a lot of time today like Tom Petty....Free Fallin'. Good snow on that side despite the narrow trails and thin cover. Some leg burning later as bumps formed. Upper and lower dis is definitely narrow but the middle was ok. Blue pulled it out. Good on them! Despite the flood warning for palmerton hoping its not too terrible. Pray for cold next week.

  3. Hey All, I’m back from another fun day at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot before 720am and it was 32 degrees in the valley and 41 degrees at the upper entrance..and inversion yo. In the house were Atomic Jeff, Johnny Law, PARidge, JFDan, Mute, Justo, Pops, the Real KT, Enjorales, TP4, Mixilplix, Bethlehem Form crew, Matt edge, Indiggio, Dirtwolf and many others. Some went to the quad first I went to the super summit safari six pack for a run down midway to lower main before it got crowded. Conditions were ok..small cookies on lower main but not terrible. Then up the quad to Freefall and was a deep base and lots of 3D snow…by later in the session the bumps were getting pretty big. Lower paradise is to narrow to be enjoyable. Just to many slow people in the way. Skied some more laps as the sun rose and it sure got warm out…then in the lot while having beers we got the bad news that Blue is closed tomorrow cause of predicted rain..bah bah bah bullshit so I guess I’ll see some of you Tuesday morning to see what’s left. 4. You guys are seriously underselling the hilariousness that is pdis, we were on the 2nd chair behind Oz and it was like a really good Norm McDonald joke, so bad it's like instantly hilarious. Free fall was rotd, up top was all super low key feel like a king and then kapow half bumps half rando piles and pleebs down in the hole. It's all loose, water down the hill skiing and the bad good is one of the best conditions at blue. Bonus points for the single file luge runout with even more pleebs down in the hole. Mad props for them having the stones to open dis and free fall no sign. All season when it's minty fresh they have that experts sign but the one time it's kinda approaching it that fucker was collecting dust in the shed. Today was perfect in it's craptacularness which is what blue is all about

  8. Went to Highlands today for the first time. Wow, the snow was fantastic!! I went with my neighbor who is in his early 70’s with a nice beer belly and doesn’t look like he is athletic. This guy can fucking ski! He still does races in Vail and Beaver Creek. He has been skiing Highlands for 50 years and knows every inch of the place. He gave me a very nice tour. There was nobody there, I mean at all. He definitely pushed me for day #3 on the snow. We started on Exhibition lift and did 2 off there, then moved over to Cloud 9 lift and did a bunch off of that lift. He wanted to take me to Thunder Bowl but it was closed. last run of the day we went to the top (of the lift, obviously not the bowl) pics from the top the next ridge is Highland Bowl. I didn’t feel like I could take many pictures while we were skiing, since he is from a different generation and just doesn’t do that. He showed me picnic point and I took a pic there, really pretty view of the bells I realized why my legs were so tired (even after some midway stops) when we got to the bottom. I looked up the trail map and it’s 3600’ of vert top to bottom. Very solid day for me.

  12. Why is Blue the True closed tomorrow since the Rain doesn't start til late afternoon? That's quite irrational

  17. Late start and 55° at 1:30 . Took a while to find my friend Paul but skied Bumps till 3 . The flat light almost got me going from Midway to Main st . My next runs were better. Paul started busting on me about my new obnoxious Blue jacket which started a coughing fit and I decided to bail.Fun while it lasted, but I always think of ski Blue as therapy, my lungs feel better hopefully get rid of the sore throat. I’m dragging today and think I have the dreaded respiratory virus going around. I’ve dodged it for a while but now it hit this morning. The chills hit me a few miles from home. I tested negative this morning for Covid.

  18. Bucket list for me...no doubt. Wait till the national museum opens at Giza though. That shits gonna be incredible. All of tut's treasures are being moved there. Plus lots of other cool stuff. The museum was built in the shadow of the pyramids. Supposedly has an atrium area with an incredible view of them. I'd like to start from Cairo to Giza to Luxor to see the valley of the Kings.

  20. I’ve actually been watching a lot of documentaries recently about ancient Egypt. I find myself fascinated by the new kingdom, namely the reign of Ramses II. Tutankhamun (his actual name…camelback should update the trail name to be historically accurate) believe it or not, wasn’t a very popular Pharaoh…as in he didn’t do much. His reign was short and likely tumultuous as he took the throne at the age of 9 and passed at 19. It wasn’t until just over 100 years ago when Howard Carter and his team discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun, literally untouched, that propelled Tut into what we know of him today. That discovery was huge because it’s the only tomb of of a pharaoh found that wasn’t looted by grave robbers. When they found Tutankhamun not only was his mummy intact (and viewable today by visitors) it was covered in multiple golden coffins and the tomb was filled with over 5000 artifacts….including things like the sandals he wore, his thrones, gold everywhere, beautiful works of art etc. literally thousands of years old. Incredible. The thing is Tutankhamuns tomb however is tiny compared to the other pharaohs of that time…which may mean that he passed suddenly. To this day they can and do still x ray his mummy to look for bone fractures etc. Ancient Egypt is cool. The ONLY thing camelback has that’s better than blue are it’s trail names.
