Some decent overnight temps, not spectacular, but hopefully enough to piece back the single track on Paradise to keep that in play, and refresh the balance. Probably making paradise a thick single track layer is going to hold up better to 3" of rain than spreading that shit out. They will be blowing on Razors for sure shortly. hopefully upper main too. i would say based on this they will be trying to lay down some famous Blue Mountain Gak most of the day Saturday.5 points

I think 3 years ago was the year we had only one weekend in the upper lot, 2nd weekend we were in the valley, and i think there was a decent snow storm that was really helpful for opening new trails with just a little snowmaking. am i right?2 points

This was radical. I was getting new skis so I gave no fudges about the RTMs. Still sold them for two fitty at Buckmans and didn't even fix the parking lot scratches. Some lucky lad is probably ripping on these1 point

For those with time, energy and inclination, one could probably go back through the reports and ascertain a lot of that information.1 point

I would love to see your encyclopedic knowledge of past ski seasons put down on a calendar view or something similar where we could look at a specific week and see how much terrain Blue had open for the same time period across multiple years.1 point

It's amazing how winter in PA seemingly has changed over my long absence. I remember back when I worked at The Camel not being near 100% by Christmas or at worst New Years was super unusual.1 point

it looks like they forgot to renew it, it expired yesterday or the day before. they have about month an a half before it can be picked up by someone else. surprised they only renewed it for 2 years.1 point

We just got a call from the school district. I thought maybe a Christmas miracle happened overnight a d the rain changed to snow. Nope...busses are delayed because of excessive flooding on the roads1 point

Yesterday would have been a lot more fun for me with less people. I just get too panicky with that many people sliding around next to me. No more weekends for me until they open more trails. Parking lot was fun. High point of the day was seeing the bald eagle1 point

You guys are seriously underselling the hilariousness that is pdis, we were on the 2nd chair behind Oz and it was like a really good Norm McDonald joke, so bad it's like instantly hilarious. Free fall was rotd, up top was all super low key feel like a king and then kapow half bumps half rando piles and pleebs down in the hole. It's all loose, water down the hill skiing and the bad good is one of the best conditions at blue. Bonus points for the single file luge runout with even more pleebs down in the hole. Mad props for them having the stones to open dis and free fall no sign. All season when it's minty fresh they have that experts sign but the one time it's kinda approaching it that fucker was collecting dust in the shed. Today was perfect in it's craptacularness which is what blue is all about1 point

Went to Highlands today for the first time. Wow, the snow was fantastic!! I went with my neighbor who is in his early 70âs with a nice beer belly and doesnât look like he is athletic. This guy can fucking ski! He still does races in Vail and Beaver Creek. He has been skiing Highlands for 50 years and knows every inch of the place. He gave me a very nice tour. There was nobody there, I mean at all. He definitely pushed me for day #3 on the snow. We started on Exhibition lift and did 2 off there, then moved over to Cloud 9 lift and did a bunch off of that lift. He wanted to take me to Thunder Bowl but it was closed. last run of the day we went to the top (of the lift, obviously not the bowl) pics from the top the next ridge is Highland Bowl. I didnât feel like I could take many pictures while we were skiing, since he is from a different generation and just doesnât do that. He showed me picnic point and I took a pic there, really pretty view of the bells I realized why my legs were so tired (even after some midway stops) when we got to the bottom. I looked up the trail map and itâs 3600â of vert top to bottom. Very solid day for me.1 point
