Got a questionnaire e-mail today about my visit. Gonna really rail them on the trash to see if it actually does anything positive.5 points
-
I wonder if by having the dumpsters there it almost encourages people that it is ok to drink on and throw trash off the lift. Ditch the dumpsters, slap up a couple of cameras and pull passes when people litter. I feel kind of bad being so grumpy about it, but I can’t think of a good reason why people should be allowed to litter like that.4 points

Trash, snowmobiles driving all over the slopes, and uphill travel will be on my survey.4 points

One run in and I can tell you this won't be a long session. Crowds on dirt strips basically and people are actually complaining that they didn't make snow. I can't. Anyway Snow is mashed potato, gaper built bumps everywhere. Probably not the best day for me after being down and out over a week Either way. I was able to snap this Pic of the Majestic beauty of the mountains in the wintertime below.3 points

At Camelback, greatest mountain in the world, rode with some eccentric old guy that was probably abducted by aliens. He says Camelback can't blow a lot of snow because they only have one snowmaking retention pond which is near the new Sullivan Six pack, and apparently the pond was full of mud recently! Everyone pray for rain so Camelback can refill its one snowmaking pond! Skiing was pretty good for the first hour and a half. Hump and Asp were very nice, just a little mashed perdatery on the flat run back to the lift. King Tut was garbage. The greens off the Nastar Glenn lift were nice and found some fresh courdoroy around 10 am. Once everyone found that area it got a little chunky. Overall a grate day at Camelback and exceeded my expectations until around 11 am.3 points

While I agree the trash is disgraceful, the target market for blue is Philly, Jersey, and nyc. 3 places not known for class and decorum.3 points

It’s ridiculous that they don’t send a worker up there with a trash bag to tidy it up a bit.3 points

Yeah, so when Burma is the best run in the morning, its probably not gonna be a great day. first run vista was super nice, most of midway was ok. Main was bad from the get go. Upper part of coming soon was nice, the headwall was trenched bad. Really bad. Paradise was all about just finding a patch of snow to get to the lift. then what was good went to sugar. With the weather we have been dealt, just have to go with low expectations lately. We need quite a refreshment so that just those 3 slopes will ski well again.3 points

The funnel is already the size if the sarlacc pit from return of the jedi. I dont know how anyone misses it.2 points

Can we change it to “Snowball throwing only allowed at people not moving and blocking Shuttle”? Two birds, one stone kind of thing That must be what the backpacks are for. I always thought they were just being cautious of avy danger2 points

The next time I ski blue in a couple days I’m hoping there’s a 20 ounce Gatorade bottle I can jib..at least they’re plastic..the old glass Gatorade bottles would send anybody less agile than me ass over teakettle… they should just blow lots of snow on the falls lol that way when it gets real cold that’s already taken care of…(if any blue execs are reading this I’m kidding..but gotta blow the hell out of razors for like five hours so we can watch it melt..2 points

Douchebag kids were throwing snowballs from.the sixpack at kids on the school hill lift loading areas.2 points

I did notice the handwritten sign threatening to pull your pass if you throw snowballs at riders below the lift. Not sure when that went up. Must’ve been this week2 points

I do, but hardly anymore to be honest. A lap through and a couple board slides and hop on downrails and im good. I have no desire to "progress" or learn anything new. Keeping it as safe and low risk as possible. Following your posts and seeing your desire to get back into the park and progress has been awesome though. Keep it up brotha!2 points

That cold has been moving back for weeks for now. That was supposed to be here 3 days ago. My confidence is kinda low at this point. And i try not to get excited about things that might not come true. I hope it comes, but like i said, not holding my breath. lets see how this looks in 3 days....lol2 points

You are correct! Maybe you will notice the similarities I see as to why I dub a Nile Mile also at Blue.1 point

Thanks salty!! I heard that camelback has been pretty good so far this season. Was talking to a guy in the Blue lot saturday Eating a banana who said he was there on 12/22 and said that the Nile mile isn’t open yet.1 point

Didn't really notice so I guess Camelback is cleaner. Will have to count the aluminum cans on the ground next time1 point

What gets us are the actual empty Twisted Tea boxes under the lifts. How do you carry a box that size onto the lift? Its also just laziness on the drinkers part to not wait for the dumpsters instead of just tossing them when/wherever.1 point
-
It's just lazy. On the mtns part. You can't sell alcohol and not expect a sanitation issue. Not like people are throwing pasta sauce off the lift. Yet.1 point
-
They need to do something about the trash, or it will just get worse. Not sure how they would handle that as a sign thats says “no drinking alcohol on the lifts” will fire up the Karens for sure. Kinda gotta handle the problem without admitting there is a problem.1 point

That man lies, there is an even larger snowmaking pond behind the tubing hill. Also a pump station at the creek accessed from behind the residential ski condos right around the sharp bend before the parking lit.1 point

Also have to add the absolute atrocity that was the attempted grooming for today! It probably was the worst it’s been this entire season. Not only were there ridges, but large swaths of overflow boulders they never went back to smooth and also some huge gouges. It was so bad @AtomicSkier didn’t want to lead the way down Mudway and Muck Street! Of course there was no way he was patient enough to stay behind us the entire way and we had a good laugh about it the bottom!1 point

If Galileo dropped a trash bag (drawstring kind) and one of those little fire ball bottles for alcoholics from the lift, which one would land first?1 point
-
regarding the trash, I hate seeing it and hated taking pics of it. No ski area (let alone blue), no mountain, nothing nature deserves that.1 point

Thanks for the report Salty, I was just about to ask you how camelback has been this season. Looks like they have more base than Blue.1 point

I just gave you five stars. I wonder who would give a one star somebody who’s likes Yoo Hoo so either SaltyAnus or Enjos kid1 point

Unfortunately no ski trips but I’ll probably do a Plattekill powder day “once “ the woods are in play. My son made the USA junior F3j Rc glider team. 2024 Worlds are in Norway so we’ll be going for a couple weeks this coming summer. My Sailplane needs a ton of work so my fun budget is blown out of the water this year. Hoping February delivers so I can get in some Jim Thorpe bc runs .1 point
