  1. Hey All, I’m back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 720am and it was 52 degrees and cloudy. I. The house was everybody except Atomic Jeff and Salty. All three high speeds we’re running and crowds were light to moderate. First run was Main Street top to bottom which was nice cord on the top and already a bit chewed up on lower, Lazy mile was very nice hero snow. Paradise was pretty nice as well and I enjoy the little ribbon lower right. Yes a lot more snow melted with the warmth and rain but they’re in ok shape. Got on midway just once and was some bumps and push piles. As the morning went on I found Main Street better as the lines were more defined. Wasn’t grate for doing GSS turns but nice for short radius. I skied either 11 or 12 runs…in the lot some serious winds and a shower passed through and even a few flakes. I then went to the covered bridge in with JLaw, Mute, Enjorales, Dirtwolf, Boo Bear, Becky Boo, Walter and Grayson. Fun lunch and waitress was on point dividing the check up like five ways. We be interesting what tomorrow AM is like, I’m not expecting hero snow. JADIP

  2. Had a excellent session at Blue The True today! Arrived around 8:30 to be pleasantly suprised by a fairly empty lot. I figured the rain would keep people from coming early and it did. My car read 49 which was also suprising as the forecast I saw said upper 30 or low 40s at opening time. @Johnny Law was in the house as I spotted him on Lazy and gave him a pound in the lift line from the VIP passholder side of the fence. 🤣 Snow was exactly as you would expect wet but still fast. Spent most of the day lapping lazy, or main to the park finished off on Paradise. Things are getting thin in spots but that doesnt matter with the snowmaking that shall go down this week.

  3. Snow was really nice today. Lazy was 8.9 out of 10. Edge to edge and smooth. Everything else was nice too. Tomorrow will be interesting but good day and good to know that brown town will finally be gone this time next week.

  4. I can hear the avy bombs going off from my house. Bitter cold and windy today. Getting soft in my old age, gonna skip skiing today. Another winter storm on tap tonight through Monday, gonna drop feet. I hear this is what I70 looks like now.

  5. Super super good day to be out and about. One of the best snow conditions in my opinion, main first thing was arc arc arc arc and lazy was maybe even better and held up nicely. Dis is dis its good but that run out is getting spicy for the beginners which is the cherry on top. Parking lot was tip top, beer Jesus had zombie dust which is like an instant flashback to my early craft beer days and lo and behold a CBI trip was in order. The juggy maiden has long since moved on to the glitter and glam of the west end saloon but it was most nice to get back in their with even better company. I cannot fathom how there is a way in which tomorrow isn't mad brick, all the semis were really struggling on my way home so super glad to make the most of today.

  7. Woodstone would to be the top choice for convenience with under a 10 minute drive. When we had weddings at Blue in the summer, the recommended places were in Bethlehem or Lehighton, both 20-25 minutes away since Woodstone had their own weddings going on.

  8. This is a great point, @indiggio. Other ikon resorts have them in place. i can only imagine the ikon deal closed without enough time to implement a reservation system.

  9. That was last year. We made the move to near Main Street this year for convenience proximity for frequent safety meetings. As park riders safety is of utmost importance! Look before you leap! Always be visible from uphill if you stop!

  15. Got to CB Tuesday afternoon. Had to find a hole in the storm cycle to travel. In winter when Kebler Pass closes, it’s just as far from Marble as it is from Boulder to get here. There is a route that cuts 30 min off the time, but you skirt the road of Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Did it once in winter. It’s icy, foggy, twisty and desolate. I kept thinking if I slid off the road nobody would find me until spring! So now I drive here via Montrose and stay on the main roads. All of Colorado seems below snowpack levels. When I arrived my house wasn’t blocked by a mound of snow. But maybe winter has finally arrived. Yesterday woke up to a fresh 4”. It was negative temps and the wind was whipping. So I was lazy and took the 10:15 bus. I was told Paradise was socked in and absolutely freezing. So I stayed on the front side. It was bitterly cold. My face hurt after an hour so I left. Today the webcam said 7” when I woke up. By the time I left it was up to between 8-9”. Surprisingly quiet. Again, due to very low viz, I stayed on the front side. Decided to try and work on my very mediocre powder skilz. Did 6 powder laps and a few groomed. Snow was deep!! Only a few pics as it was pretty cold again. Supposed to snow all weekend. It’s a holiday so will probably be busy

  16. Hey All, It’s almost another weekend, is anybody planning on skiing Blue mountain the true mountain? Looks like a short but heavy rainfall ending early Saturday AM followed by slowly dropping temperatures but still well above freezing..then Sunday looks like 30mph winds wooooo…hold onto your hat.. Then Monday is MLK day and 8am opening..so could be a nice three day weekend…fun fun fun.

  17. @saltyant I have to agree with you that MLK day will be a nice day to play skiing. When Razors is finally open that’s when it’s really worth it to ski during the week except that sometimes razors is still closed for races and they do night training sometimes.

  18. @tarponhead stayed at the Ramada Inn in Whitehall which has recently been renovated. The hookers don’t come with the room. I think there’s still a comedy club there. But that’s where I’d stay…a shame blue no longer has ski and stay packages with local hotels. Back in the 90s they had ski and stay packages starting at $69 per person per day double occupancy not including taxes.

  19. Dime I thought you parked over by the quad. And Schifdawg and Nancy got Atomic Jeffs parking spot. He was down south running. I really liked the snow today…hopefully it will be awhile until we have 52 degrees at opening….there was barely any garbage under the Original six pack…

  23. So I started off a little later than expected today and arrived at Big Boulder at 11:15, gave Phillycore a ring and met him, JFSkiDan, and PA Ridge Racer. The snow coverage was amazing, way better than I expected! We ended getting split up each run but kept bumping into each other at the top or bottom of the lift. I think Dan and Ride Racer took off shortly afterwords so I took a couple runs with Phillycore & then I think he ended up taking off. I seen Toast in the distance lapping Boulder Park and I believe KT KILLING it on the big booters. I didn't stay much longer only until about 1 and left. It was pretty crowded and there were only a few jibs I felt like playing on so I mostly lapped Mittl Weg. Props to Big Boulder for staying open top to bottom, if I wasn't going to be in Stowe next weekend if they opened I surely would return. Mittl Weg/Bunny Schuss interestion Boulder Park As I was coming down I-80 I seen Camelback in the distance and thought what the hell I have a pass and it's on my way home I might as well stop by. I pulled into Camelback and their were less than half the amount of people that were at Big Boulder. Coverage was really thin, they lost a ton of snow since last weekend and the park setup was pretty lame. They were doing a corrugated distance jib contest for anyone who wanted to hit it and if you cleared it I believe they were giving away a longboard. I took a couple runs through the park and didn't feel satisfied with my day yet so I decided to hike it up to the top and see what I could find. It took me quite awhile as I'm not in the greatest of shape and took a few breaks along the way. I headed left of the Glenn chair towards Near East up through a secret woods run and onto Julius Caesar up through the woods onto Little Caesar and onto the top of the Stevenson. I found about $3 in coins along my way! Beautiful view riding up the Glenn Lift Julius Caesar Julius Caesar I see an opening! Made it! Little Caesar Visiting Steve Cliffhanger lookin super thin from the top Nile mile, my chosen run. Who said you can't ride on grass? The End. Anyway you slice it or dice it today was JADIP

  26. I love it!!! I have an old TR on here of one day in April I also hiked up to the Nile Mile when the Stevenson was closed to poach it for one last run over a decade ago I believe. Just gor back from a great evening at Blue The True. Spring condtions and super lighr crowds except the million BMR kids.

  27. I think most of us went through a stage like that in our lives. And Barb, I’d stay far away from any resort on a holiday weekend

  28. Hiking up to an empty Nile Mile in the deep deep back country of Camelback was the best idea I had today. It was so empty there were some deer running around the trail. Epic and magical!

  36. Nice to know Johnny Law is good at fucking…I need to buy a caution wet moms shirt off Lofe another internet legend. Yeah I was thinking that gotta be good at what you do. I did a little safety dance after running a credit card transaction over the phone. Nowadays everybody wanna talk like they got something to say but nothing comes out when they move their lips just a bunch of jibberish.

  40. Mbike once came to meet me at work to borrow some avy gear for WF and he walked right past me. There is a guy i work with now that apparently skis at blue but he would never recognize me. I don't take it as an insult, most people are very boring and have no range. I am very good at what I do, be it skiing, work, fucking....what you would find funny is I do alot of speaking for cles and in work townhalls, I'm also good at that. This is the way, but when you get at passing distance whatever way they set their feet go the opposite. It's an arc like a car, so it's not possible to occupy the same space if your timing is right. It's like passing a semi, don't fuck around pass or stay behind.

  41. Actually I prefer the term “geezer”, I’ve earned it. More descriptive of how everything hurts after a morning on the slopes.

  42. There are some people I know exactly how they ski…but most are unpredictable…anybody skiing like 85% of my speed or more that’s hogging the trail or skiing side by side with somebody, I’ll just hold back a little which then makes me feel a little less safe cause then I’ll get passed by mofos even straight lining rentards sometimes Somebody who I won’t name because he lurks, will purposely hold back a few seconds at the top so he can go balls to the walls and pass everybody..I’ve noticed so now will hold back even more and watch the fuckery from behind.

  43. BMR parents pay a lot more than it costs to take a lesson. But hopefully the liftline issues have been resolved. Now they need to work on the packed slopes and not hold back the guns next week. Had to wait on top several times today until the crowd on the run thinned out a little.

  44. I hate passing 'cause I can never time it properly, esp. if someone goes edge to edge, or if that someone is on a board who's moving like some brownian particle. What I lately found works the best is the contrarian approach. You aim to hit the guy, and by the time you get close, he'll invariably make another turn and clear the way.

  45. I’m getting old..that’s the way I skied from when I was a teenager to my thirties and once I crashed into that kid head on at full speed I’ve been spooked and a bit more cautious. Since then I only had one collision if you can even count it as one. One day last season I was skiing paradise alone and some boomer was hogging the trail and on the second corner when he was going wide left I snuck to his right…he saw me but decided it was the time to go all the way across…so I put on the brakes and he legit almost went back uphill right into my skis…he fell I didn’t cause I’m an agile mofo except in ski area bathrooms and crossing streets in ski towns.

  46. I kinda from time to time want to ask... Do you ever speak in court? And if or when you do, and if you speak the way you write, is the judge as surprised as the BMR you're passing on slopes?

  47. 🤣🤣 I bet their are some feet dudes who hangout around blue just to watch people put their boots on Quad and new sixer run, all three got lots of new netting to make fancy cattle chutes and all threw have designated season pass lines after Sunday. Weekday the old sixer only ran Monday when it was packed, like Saturday packed and my guess is it's only going to run if it's super busy. The ikon people I talked to Monday seem to be gone but thats just randos I happen to talk to. Besides Monday it's been ski on at least until early afternoon, my gut says the super packed lines shit is a weekend/rando ikon day thing that will be harder to predict and consequently be a tough one for blue.
