  2. Did a short afternoon sesh at Blue today. Intended to film on Barbs Way with my tripod but my camera wasnt working right. Snow today wasnt quite as good as yesterday as the warmer temps had the guns blowing wetter. Widowmaker was open and decent with some cookies in the mix. Guns blazing top to bottom Nightmare and Dreamweaver but it's gonna take a lot more snow on them two from the looks today. Chutes ready to push and lower sidewinder was groomed quite nice! Its nice to have all these new options with plenty more to come! All in all JADIP.

  4. Had another great day today. Snow was a tad crunchier and cookies in spots, but completely edge able. I believe JL buzzed by us top of TCS. I’m actually taking the day off tomorrow, helping with the snow removal around here. And gotta clean up the house sometimes, spend time with the pets. That sort of thing. I’m thinking maybe Sunday. It’s gonna be super cold, maybe keep some people away.

  6. Rode today from 905 to 11, dudes on the lift said Blue doesn't want to pay the day rate. Seems dumb to me but who knows, they did turn the yellow fans on at 1030 pretty much everywhere. Snow was not as good today, too much blowing made for some hard stuff and cookies. Upper main was glacial from the start but about 1/3 down it went to a carpet. Lazy and dis continue to be very good. They opened Widow though it was a hilarious field of cookies and glacial. Coming Soon was rotd as the headwall was ratty but had perfect grip to let them go. They were working on pushing out razors and had come around pushed out but not open. Someone on the lift said switch is next but take that with a big grain of salt. Good day and with some natural tomorrow am could be very good.....now all I have to do is get out of work

  10. Fucking stoke ! I'll preface this by saying for the boarders I'm sorry they don't let you ride there, to be fair alot of the stuff worth skiing would suck on a board but still. I love to ask people what they think about Alta because it's the fastest question to know what they are all about. DV peeps for the most part don't like Alta, the other day when they had a 4hr redsnake up LCC all the ikons went to the bird which in some ways is a more challenging mtn but critically more comfortable. (Tram not included ) Alta is for skiers, actual skiing, not taking pictures for the gram in a 4k Goldberg, you can get beer and shit but they don't have signature cocktails. There is no spa or 100000 endless real estate scams. All of the good shit you gotta work to get their and nobody is going to help you find it. The true Alta peeps are god damn Billy goats, a 85 year old dude will make you reconsider how good of a skier you think you are as he's faster on the traverse and downhill. It's insanely beautiful, the opposite of telluride/Silverton which I still say is number one in the lower 48 but you get up on high rustler and sup is all big and gnarly in your face, the sun is going down behind the mtns perfect picture frame view all the way down to the valley. You either get it or you don't and every true skier, the givers, the adventurers get it........ the nipple deep diamond dust that falls out of the sky seemingly constantly doesn't hurt but they are right it has a soul in an increasingly soulless ski industry.

  15. A day with the DW at Frost. Everything pretty much open on the west side with the exception of Exhibition, and they have a dozen guns and a fan on that. Maybe this weekend. Huge whales on one park (which was open), maybe will reset the features for the weekend. Snow is its usual great condition. Frost usually keeps the whales intact until they groom it all out. No death cookie factories here. Quiet vibe today, some geezers, some newbies, some boarders. Don’t know about east mountain, but the crossovers top and bottom are covered. No tubing so far this year.

  19. its hard to tell if they are working on NMDW, which is what someone said they started yesterday. it kinda looks like they are, but its hard to tell. if you look at the vista cam, up in the very left hand corner it looks like some snow clouds, maybe the lower part of come around? Ok, from the tubing cam it looks like DW is definitely on. Personally, i dont feel they ever run full blast. Ever. Compared to what other resorts have in capacity, and how much (slopewise) they run, its not impressive to me. I think Frost is 6K gpm, and it kinda seems like thats about what Blue runs. I think shortly Frost will be 100%. Granted, its smaller, and a little better temps, but i kinda feel the powerhouse Blue claims to have, they should pace them or beat them to 100%.

  27. If I remember right he was the only one with game, little nick told me was full play on player. Many moons ago I saw Doug work his magic at a bar in kop, its just like skiing if you underestimate him its to your own disadvantage.

  34. Just got back from a late afternoon sesh at Blue The True! Guns were blazing top to bottom on Nightmare and Dreamweaver. Come around has been pushed out and Widowmaker looks ready to be pushed and open. Snow was good with a couple scraped spots. Guns blazing on Lazy, Vista and Midway was still nice and light snow reconditioning all day long. Looks like we will have a plethora of new terrain by the weekend. All and all JADIP.

  35. Made it up this afternoon for an hour. Light crowds and good snow but they were blowing on Lazy and Midway which was insta freeze on the goggles. Tried to avoid that and stuck to CS and Pdis since they were good. Upper Main was closed and they were blowing on NMDW. Only blowing on the upper head wall on Rzrs so guessing they’re just letting the rest of the trail dry out for the weekend. Saw @MattEDGEwas in the house but didn’t get to talk to him.

  36. The one night I looked last week the lights were out everywhere but the Vista/Slopeside cams. I almost posted about Zee Lights being off and not being able to see what they are blowing on at night anymore, but then I figured someone would just comment "They always start turning them off after the first few weeks of the season" because I definitely know I've seen them off in the past. So who knows . . .

  38. I mean it's close but if it's between me skiing switchback and NMDW vs people staying warm in single digit temps, I guess I can make an exception.
