Rode this morning with AS, JfDan and nick. Roads are way too clean so kinda busy first thing. Maybe an inch at blue or more, there is 3 or so in the ding so I'd imagine there is more on the way for blue. Conditions as you would expect are mostly excellent, lazy and dis are set it and forget it though lazy is a little slow. Coming Soon the headwall again was a bit ratty but super grip to let them run some. Upper main is very good though as you move down it gets firmer and more washboardy. I didn't ski Widow after yesterday but JF said it still needs more time. They hadn't finished pushing razors so none of that was open. Blowing on NMDW, le chute and maybe Challenge though I only saw the top gun on. Tomorow should be le tits assuming it isn't overrun by front platers and all of Delco.11 points

Widowmaker wasn’t too bad, a little disappointed with Main Street but it was ok. Hate to say it, but the best run of the day was first run of Paradise. Too afraid of the crowd on Lazy to try it, especially after they opened Challenge lift. Lines were building up before they opened it. Lower Paradise was packed later coming off of TCS, but OK if you stayed next to the right side trees. Crowds got too much for me about 11:45. Desperately need Switch and Side opened. Had some coffee in the lot under my back hatch.6 points

Was only there once, need to get back. Niko and I rode with Indiggio and son on a boot deep day and had a hoot. I remember it was the first "big" day on the new hip and I was skiing a little tentatively, decided to break off after lunch and cruise with the girls. After a run or two Mrs SnoBunski was done so her friend Jan, who is a long time Alta skier and knows the mountain like the back of her hand, took me on a magic tour. I knew it was going to be good on the lift when she asked if I minded a few rocky traverses, lol.6 points

Very fun rare mid week morning for me. Really nice to see snowmaking progress from the past week. Big gains. Pretty busy by 11:30, just lapped lazy after the others had to go do that work BS. Lazy was kind of 3D by then and super fun, other than watching for the masses of people on trail. Falls was nice too. Hopefully cuzie's/raceway/widowmaker will be a little nicer tomorrow, it was just kind of typical of the Blue cycle of grooming right after opening a trail, skiable but marble-y. Midway was pretty nice. NMDW has more snow on it than Challenge, but hopefully both will be open before the end of our nice snowmaking stretch. it will be really nice to do the lefty-righty down NMDW again. Hopefully they dont put park BS on there for the 15 people at Blue that do that. Nothing sucked about today.5 points

ha i remember when blue didn't allow snowboards lol. A gazillion years ago I had a wood burton board with two metal skegs (still have it somewhere) and a kind of water ski binding, i remember tooling around with it at jack frost and getting chased off the hill fuck i'm old...5 points

Rode with my dad from 10-2. Fun conditions. Razors opened on my last lift ride up so got ROTD last run. My dad plays 6am ice hockey so since I was going with him I played as well before riding. Had set my alarm to 4 am to get to my parents house but woke up at 2:45am and couldn’t go back to sleep. Roads were snow covered leaving hockey and looked like they needed plowing, but weren’t bad at all by the time we got to landsdale. Ended up getting 5 inches in Downingtown. I’m confused if the plowing was good down here or if the snow didn’t really stick to the roads as the day went on, cause the roads were perfect. Always fun riding blue in natural snow, good amount of people there4 points

Today was a good day for that if you choose wisely. Under the Quad uphill from Razors and a couple other areas. Kudos to Blue today for controlling the cattle. I stayed on the Quad most of the afternoon. They paired everyone up and the lift only stopped once in 3hrs I was there! Great day 12-5 session with only a short break, I felt 20 years younger all day. Rotd ended up a perfectly timed accident. I was drooling over the fresh carpet on Razors when I saw 2 tracks down, Patrollers? Yeah . I spotted a crowd at the rope! Yes , skate and hit speed right as the rope dropped! Later runs were ok . Most of the mountain is in pretty good shape. Lazy was quite crowded but ok if you kept your speed down due to washboards. Jay has its “Jay Cloud “ Blue has “Nightmare cloud” crazy micro climate all day over the top of Nightmare . Great job Blue! Ps Park is a total shit show at the entrance!4 points

The scary part is not the crowd at the bottom, but the crowd coming down the trail.4 points

Indeed. I think I did fall once on this, but did not take the skis off. This is the T-bar line. EDIT - full disclosure, skis were off when I fell. But you can see me clicking back in to finish the run in the video. Glad I ran this then -- can you get there with the new lift house tucked in tighter?3 points

I will add despite the growing crowds the VIP line was open and they were counting heads at every lift keeping it well organized. I dont think I waited more than 5 min at peak.3 points

Just got back from a morning sesh at Blue The True! I didnt rush this morning because the snow started late and grooming also ran late so no feel of FOMO. I arrived at 9:45am and it was snowing at a decent rate all morning and it was gooooood. Gate finally dropped on Razors about 2pm and I wrapped it up after that after 13 laps. Crowds just kept growing. All in all JADIP3 points

It's evolving. The male pros have become hard to watch. Competition went from style to regimented super strict olympic type training spinning to win to the point you can't even count the rotations on the tricks anymore. Air bag training and such has become almost a requirement. No longer can you be that grungy park rat from New Jersey or Rutland and climb the ranks like days of old. New things have come to fruition like Natural Selections and such we can't really relate to on the East Coast. Female XGames and Olympics have become the ones to watch because you can still tell what tricks they're doing. Rail Jams and that type of park and or events seem to have grown in popularity over the halfpipe and slopestyle days past. Times have also changed where far more kids play on their phones and PCs than play outside. It seems to be making a bit of a come back though. Big Snow is a big boost to this region for the park scene. It will be interesting to see which direction it goes, going forward.2 points

Said clip lol. Came off the FDF early but the cam got cut off onto the next box by a random pops bumped into camera man, then knocked into the tail of my board as I was going for the double barrel rail lol. All to dodge the features after cutting anyone approaching off lol, no respekt. VID_138570214_212917_890.mp42 points

Blue shouldn’t have a park on their busiest run. They could actually make a narrow entrance for more fuckery in hopes of getting more people onto homestretch…once Central Park opens up, should spread things out a little. There’s also the little cut through meant for ski patrol that goes under the OG six pack from homestretch back to lower barbs way and can have some real nice snow but better keep your head on a swivel cause always seems to be somebody at that mini merge2 points

This was all like 3-4 days after that big storm 3 years ago too. I was actually out at Copper while it was dumping here. But there was so much from that storm, and it stayed cold, that all the off trail areas were still well in play. But some of them had gotten skied so much they were super slick and packed down, like the T bar line.2 points

They got to move the park on Barb’s. It is a zoo with people going to summit lift. No room for the park rats to use the features.2 points

I think the park scene is dying out. 15-20 years ago it was huge with terrain parks and half pipes at even little ski areas. Big boulder was an almost all park mountain. I think a lot of the JibHonks have grown up and either don’t ski anymore or keep their skis on the snow. When blue first opened a terrain park, it was called a snowboard park and I believe snowboarders only.2 points

Great video. Only place I ever skied deep powder, it snowed all day. What a challenge! Luckily I had people with me that knew what they were doing.2 points

Did a short afternoon sesh at Blue today. Intended to film on Barbs Way with my tripod but my camera wasnt working right. Snow today wasnt quite as good as yesterday as the warmer temps had the guns blowing wetter. Widowmaker was open and decent with some cookies in the mix. Guns blazing top to bottom Nightmare and Dreamweaver but it's gonna take a lot more snow on them two from the looks today. Chutes ready to push and lower sidewinder was groomed quite nice! Its nice to have all these new options with plenty more to come! All in all JADIP.2 points

Had another great day today. Snow was a tad crunchier and cookies in spots, but completely edge able. I believe JL buzzed by us top of TCS. I’m actually taking the day off tomorrow, helping with the snow removal around here. And gotta clean up the house sometimes, spend time with the pets. That sort of thing. I’m thinking maybe Sunday. It’s gonna be super cold, maybe keep some people away.2 points

A day with the DW at Frost. Everything pretty much open on the west side with the exception of Exhibition, and they have a dozen guns and a fan on that. Maybe this weekend. Huge whales on one park (which was open), maybe will reset the features for the weekend. Snow is its usual great condition. Frost usually keeps the whales intact until they groom it all out. No death cookie factories here. Quiet vibe today, some geezers, some newbies, some boarders. Don’t know about east mountain, but the crossovers top and bottom are covered. No tubing so far this year.2 points
