  1. Fun times today even though it was a little gray. The steeps were smooth and very nice. Tower 3 was so nice we had to do it twice. @AtomicSkierin paintbrush @AtomicSkierin Tower 3 @dirtwolf in stokeville Dropping in to stokeville hot dogging after a fun tower 3 run

  2. Better than expected day today. In the house was JFDan, TP4, Law, Ben, MBike, Glenn, Schif, Boo, Nancy and lots of others. First run down NMDW was a carpet. 9.6 out of 10 on the blue scale. Was so nice we did it twice. The base on NMDW is huge. At one point you can probably touch the lift with your ski pole. No features... just NMDW in all it's glory. Challenge wasn't as good but not bad. It got bumpy right quick with race team and the ski patrol sled games. Curzis cabin to chute was anther really nice run with a little lip action on the right side of chute to spice it up. As the morning went in the snow loosened up... spring like etc. Cloudy with comfortable temps to start and the sun came out which was nice. Lines were a non issue. Good day today!

  3. One of the best snow conditions all year, to be able to rip on NMDW just makes the place so much better. Challenge being good was a real nice surprise too. It was good as a carpet but maybe even better when it got more 3d, so many places to get some air and it felt like real skiing. On my rocket docket to be home in time I realized my lower back is a little sore and I need a shower which is good for blue as it meant I was actually doing something. Everything skied well though there was alot of variation out there, midway alone had like 4 different conditions and coming soon the headwall is just too sloppy. Super sucks with the rain tomorrow, I really wanted to stay and enjoy the weather with a beer and another day of hero spring skiing would be dope. The best part of the day though has to be TP4, for a second I thought you were gone but I can't believe they made you go back.

  4. I’ve skied 7 runs so far today. Split up from the boys two runs ago cause they were on paintbrush taking a long time and didn’t feel like waiting. My view now in woods in Casper area and earlier at the top of the Casper lift.

  6. Solid day at Bleu. Took some candids at the top @Johnny Law got there around 8:30, skied 11 or so runs, and then had some beers in the row. put skis back on, had some pocket beers, and got the half price pizza. We got the dreamweaver. But fan of it for $9.50. Not sure if any pizza is worth $19 though…

  7. 1/27/24… Day 4 of 7 Hey all, I’m back from another day at Jackson hole mountain resort. Hopes of a repeat of the exploding boner conditions of yesterdays start were dampened by flat light and much firmer snow. We began on Amphitheater to Thunder. Amphitheater was stiff cord…Grand had better cord and a bit better Visibility. Bivoac woods are big bumps not what. I wanted early in the session..then the boys did Paintbrush and I don’t like that run cause of exposure, I’ve only skied it a few times before so skipped it and skied around to the bottom and the boys were taking forever and taking pictures so I split up with them. I want to try and ski more solo on these ski trips because I never meet anybody when I’m in a group and like chatting with people on chairlifts. It was just really enjoyable skiing alone for about 5 more runs despite some pretty shitty ski conditions and also pretty crowded. The only fresh I found was in the campground stash parks off Casper and a little bit in the Casper woods. Had my pecker out peeing in the woods when a whole ski school group came by on either side of the tree I was standing behind…not much to see as the temperatures were in the high teens. I did two Casper laps, one on Teton lift all the way to the base and I was chilly so took the gondola. In the gondola liftline some jackalope holding his ski by the binding ripped his toe piece right off. By 11:30 all the main trails were real scrapped off..while not a problem for me it was hilarious seeing all the herb tourons eating shit, seemed like every lift ride and every run snowboarders were faceplanting and from the Teton lift I saw some guy fall on his back into a hole. I quit a little before the boys and then we went to the AlpenHof which was closed, we checked out the mangy which I knew wouldn’t have a table and they wanted snake river brewery which we already had twice so I’m at Bubbas solo now eating a brisket platter.

  8. Today turned out to be a super fun time....I too thought conditions were really good...It was sooooo nice to be able to ski from one side of Blue to the other on multiple trails...Yea I couldn't believe they made TP4 go all the way back to the scanners....

  9. Fun day today! Nice and warmed up after my first big mountain day of the year. Hobacks, bivouac woods and washakie were all a blast today. @AtomicSkierin the hobacks. @Dirtwolfin the hobacks. @mute1080 getting silly. Shots from Stokeville

  11. Conditions were great, minimal lines, was a nice surprise. Sun was even out for a while. Mostly lapped challenge and nightmare dreamweaver. Hung out in the lot til 12 30 or so.

  12. There is a line there called Beartooth. It’s on the trail map. It gets a decent amount of shade from the sun and the times I was there snow was good. (Pic of me in the middle of the run last year).

  13. Today’s snow was great. Did a first run with Beckyboo before wac drop off. Clearly I don’t look at trail reports and was pleasantly surprised by the new terrain open, worked my way from NMDW, challenge, lazy and main before rinse and repeat. Really fun as the trails got more bump. Lower challenge was alittle wompy from the grooming but to be expected I guess. Had fun riding the chairs with lots of people visiting for the first time year, I stuck to the OG6 all morning and never waited more than 2 chairs to get on. Crowds were light, took a snack break and then went out for 3 more runs before wac pickup. Didn’t realize how tired I was until about 1/2 way through the last fun. Becky and I were planning on a night session tomorrow but it looks like the rain has other plans since the mountain is closing at 4. Whomp whomp.

  15. Correct. I was on the chair and it had already left the terminal. An employee literally forced me to jump off the chair and climb back up onto the platform and then made me skate back and go back behind the gates. This was all after another employee had given me the ok to go through the gates and get on the chair (his exact words were “you’re good”.). I’m curious what KSL upper management would think hearing that an employee forced a customer to jump off the chairlift. 2 runs later the lifty said to me that he did it, and I quote, “to keep the masses happy as they were yelling.” I re-iterated with him that another employee had literally told me I could go. 80% of me wants to swallow my pride and let it go, but 20% of me sees the scuff marks on my new pants after having to squeeze through the gates, (since my pass has already scanned initially before he made me go back), and wonders if KSL would be interested in hearing about an employee forcing a customer to jump off the lift after the chair had left the platform and making them climb up from the rocks onto the platform

  16. As much as i thought today was gonna be good, i had the fear of super firm, somehow the snow set up even though it was 40 degrees out. this was not the case. today was good. maybe not JH good, but today was good.

  17. Seasonal snowfall at the plot in rendezvous bowl sits at 199” there is good coverage on most of the terrain..in the area below the stoke glades there was one area I had to do some rock navigating and yesterday in Rawlins bowl I even had to do a few hop turns and got bucked a few times and my only fall was on a painted yellow curb. First run on Amphitheater was only the dude from Montauk who used to work for Billy Joel so turned it up to max velocity other PASRs pointing out cloud formations. Don’t wanna be in their spray..only person on the run..only Tommy moe was gonna catch me…Laramie bowl 55mph corduroy…Mute said you guys were skiing fast..no shit perfect vis and a couple empty runs. That’s why you arrive early..Friday is the new Saturday at ski areas. The lift lines are so orderly everybody merges when they should twos pair up on quads almost everybody lowers the bar. The old school gruff atmosphere gone…the mangy moose not rowdy..

  18. At least for the pasrs we were yelling for you to make it and then at them when they turned you around. I say speak your mind, the real actual issue is they don't seem to know how the gates work at the old 6er. The same thing happened where only the outside were open one day last week.

  20. 1/26/24 The reason for the trip, FIS World Cup Mogul competition at Waterville Valley, the birthplace of freestyle skiing. Up early because of crappy wintry mix forecasted for the day. Left the condo around 6:45 to drizzle, ugh! Drizzled most of the highway ride, but sleet started mixing in and tree er getting off. During the drive up snow started mixing in and by the time we got to the parking lot, it was full-on snow. Yes! Met up with Slim and rode bump skis all day because… Up the lower lift and the competition run came into view, Holy F! They’re gonna rip this thing?? It’s steep as shit, foggy, snowy, sleet, drizzle. Rode up the adjacent lift and saw a cut through over to Lower Bobby’s named after Bobby Kennedy. At the top of the run, they didn’t have a Closed sign, so we rolled on down. Truly lipstick on a pig, as the underneath was a hint above boiler with some rocks popping through. Watched some of the women’s qualifiers and then headed down. Up the lookers left lift in search of Wayne Wong Way. Beautiful untouched 3” of powder to Wayne’s, bah closed but it looked good enough to poach. Rolled around to check out Won’s from below to find a massive exposed cliff! Ok. Lapped that lift since nobody was on it and there were lots of freshies to be had. After a lunch break, headed up the bubble and since I hadn’t been to Waterville before, Slim took me up the T-bar at the top. Yup once and done. Back down to Lower Bobby’s for the women and men’s finals and awards. Seeing these people rip these bumps on video just does not do them justice until you see them do it live and the jumps are crazy! Headed into town later for the USA team member announcements and interviews, but didn’t stay for the fireworks. IMG_8660.mov

  23. Rode from 9 to 1115, hero snow on everything but between the rain and fog I couldn't see anything. I did make out c1er from the lift and BFG crew but we were a full rotation off. First run down main I knew it would be good grip and should be smooth so let them go but I was 90% blind setting the edge the light was so flat. The hill did pretty good post 586436th rain of the season. The usual brown spots are coming through and some new ones like up top on Coming Soon. Crowds were low but a little busier than a normal rain day as there was a bus group from God knows where. Around 1030 it really started to get nice and it was grip it and rip it everywhere though the fog was super stubborn and if anything was moving down the hill. Really good morning to be out and let them run, a bit like tp4's report where it's more the days of old. Had you been able to see anything it would have been 10/10.

  24. 1/27/24 After a quick breakfast at Flapjacks in Lincoln (recommended for good grub and they open at 7am, but it gets packed shortly after), we packed up the car and checked outta The Lodge. Since it didn’t look like rain, I couldn’t pass up the chance for another notch in the ski belt, so decided to make our way to the mighty Mohawk Mountain in Connecticut, since it’s on the Indy Pass. Not only is it another new mountain for me, but also another state, so why not? Over hill and Dale and into the back woods, the ride sure didn’t look like there was a ski mountain anywhere close as we approached a couple miles away. We turned into the road with the mountain label and there it appeared. It’s only like 650’ of vert, but it’s sprawling with a lot of lifts and night skiing. Rolling into the parking lot about 1pm, the main lot was full, so had to go muddin’ into the overflow lot. Luckily a guy was pulling out pretty close, so the pike wasn’t too bad. Getting a ticket off the Indy was painless and out I went to conquer this behemoth. Unfortunately all of the lifts are fixed donkeys and with all the families and beginners causing them to stop, it made for a real trial of patience. Up the Arrowhead and right down the namesake trail. The snow was soft as the temps were in the 40’s and the air was very moist. The drop is short from the top and the runs flatten for a long while. Up the Arrowhead again in search of some more fun and found an Experts Only lollipop which drew me in to find Wildwood and Chute. The “Caution Mogul Field Ahead” sign on Wildwood drew me in like a magnet, hoping to find some bumps to play in. Well, it did say “Mogul” and that’s about all there was, a single push pile part way down. Screamed down and back up Arrowhead to check out Chute. Chute wasn’t anything to write home Mom about, blew past lots of beginners fighting their way in the buttery soft snow and cruised on over to the namesake triple chair, hoping that Route 100 would be open, but no luck as they’re hurting for cold & snow too, so just cruised Mohawk again. Since the Deer Run lift was running, I had to ride it, it’s one of the rules. Made a speed run down Pine, which for the place should be a blue instead of a green. Being in Connecticut I wasn’t expecting a whole lot and Mohawk didn’t disappoint in that respect, but for a local mountain you slide what you got. There were packs of teens having a great time in the spring conditions, families out with their little ones playing in the snow is what it’s all about. We gripe about what Blue provides, but if you hit some of these even smaller places, you appreciate what Blue provides, warts and all! Looking up from the base… One of the donkey lifts… Wildwood & Chute… The base lodge from the lift…

  25. I feel like it's a constant issue. I can't remember how many times this season, we have watched the quad load while gates were fucked on a six - or we were just stopped after loading. If it was a gate issue tp4 would have been on his Merry way while we'd all just be like wtf is going on. I know there were others with me when the one liftie was saying something about not getting a phone call, or maybe they got it but didn't understand whether or not to open the lift - while the quad was already sending people up.

  26. I need to salute the employee at the gates who had my back and tried to explain it to the lifty, who was having none of it. Keep in mind, the next time they tried opening the gates, the same thing happened again, but this time to the guys on the other end, and the lifty came running out to yell at those guys lol

  27. For anyone wondering about the tp4 fiasco, once again, lift ops could not get their shit together. Other chairs loading while upper lot-ers were rolling into the flats. Tp4s gate opens and he just moseys on down to the lift. Gets on the chair, they emergency shut down and make him get off - i believe he's past the end of the platform ( @theprogram4 please confirm) and make him skate back to the gates. I get that shit happens but be transparent and at least offer an explanation. Otherwise it just looks sloppy.

  28. January 26, 2024…..day 3 of 7. Hey All, I’m back from another fun day at Jackson hole mountain resort. Today began with a few flakes falling and an angry inch of new snow on the mountain. Temperatures in the 20s with light winds and partly sunny skies with areas of fog. In the house were Atomic Jeff, NMSki, Dirtwolf and Mute. First civilian gondola again and finally got that dream Amphitheater, full visibility, completely empty, and wall to wall cord carpet with an inch of titty sparkles on top. Up Thunder and Laramie was similar and I flew down that. Then Bivoac which wasn’t groomed but still very soft and grippy back to Sublette and skied ten sleep bowl to the cirque which was pretty good and still plenty of freshies. Now amphitheater was fully in the fog..back up thunder and skied grand which wasn’t as good as yesterday but OK… Then a Bivoac woods run…mostly moguls…up Sublette again and Sublette had a pretty long high as people were staying high to avoid the fog, usually when I try and stay high in in a fog. The boys then did the Hobacks and I wanted to preserve myself so did Bivoac again to Rendevous trail to south pass traverse to Gros verte to the base. I was way to early at the base and just did a quick teewinot lap just to kill some time. Met up with Ajeff, Mute and NMSki a few minutes later and I guess Dirtwolf got sick in the Hobacks, I didn’t remember if he just spewed or blew chunks, he definitely hurled. Then up teewinot to apres vous then down a pretty crappy groomer to teton lift then skied a woods/bump run through stoke ville and I was getting tired so went back to the car to join Dirtwolf and the others did two more runs then we had lunch at the Mangy Moose.

  34. 1/25/24 Decided to meet ip with more of the Blue bumpers down at Sunapee, so left the condo about 6:45am to get us there about 8:30, but spicy road conditions delayed the arrival by about 10 minutes. Arrived in the parking lot to 34’ and broken clouds with some blue sky, but the top of the mountain was socked in. Rode ip the front express and into the cloud to flat light and horrible visibility. Much of the runs back down were half in the clouds and then in the clear near the bottom. The runs at Sunapee are crazy wide and the snow was soft butter, nearing the slower spring condition, but you could really open them up once you got down enough to see. Ip top there we’re surprise skeet spots that would take the skis out right from under you! We attempted some glade runs but the snow in them was the rotten, thick stuff that’s waiting to grab a ski and wrench a knee, so no trees today! After riding all the running lifts and the majority of the open slopes, we decided to bail on Sunapee and double-dip at Pat’s Peak. Pat’s is a tiny little family oriented slope with tons of school programs that come to the mountain in shifts. There are lessons going on everywhere! Unfortunately the lift system is all donkeys! The snow was slow butter here too but visibility was excellent. The runs are short and the lift rides long. They have a nice double-diamond, Hurricane, that’s somewhat steep and all natural bumps. Needless to say that was the ROTD as the snow was soft and the bumps a hoot! For dinner we rode up past Cannon to Rek-Lis brewing for a couple of beers and a Hot Mess burger that was delicious but not really picture worthy. Sunapee Pat’s Peak

  35. 1/24/24 Woke up in the Lincoln lodge to see a couple of inches fell and the cars were covered. Had already rolled the dice on going to Cannon, as I had to reserve a date and get a Cannon RFID card connected to Indy. A PITA but whatever. Rolled up the road as snow fell into the Franconia Notch and the funneled wind started picked up, big time! Come He’ll or high winds, I was skiing the Cannon. Ip the Peabody lift and over to the Cannonball to the peak. Why am I the only person on this lift??? It’s 9:30, there’s should be many people on here?? About halfway up, the 10-15 MPH winds were well below actual, as the lift was slowing often. Midway up I was questioning why we do this again and again? After disembarking and heading down Upper Ravine in boot-deep, blown-in powder, I remembered. Rode up with a local who recommended Hardscrabble, so gave that a whirl. Icy, bumped, hard, thin, everything the East can throw at you, but fun nonetheless. After a short break, headed over to the Zoomer triple area. Zoomer & Avalanche had huge whaleS waiting to be pushed, on the other side there was fresh blown-in perder that made for some fun runs! Afternoon the snow started changing over to not snow, so headed to the bar for a couple before heading out. Back at the lodge it was hot tub and then to the Woodstock Inn brewery for some much needed dinner. Morning view from the Lodge… Cannon base… Who they worship up here… Meatloaf dinner, feels like I ate 20lbs. of lead…

  36. Hey All, I’m here in Jackson hole with Atomic Jeff and Mute, NMSki and Dirtwolf arrive on Thursday. Flight from Newark was at 10:09am EST and me and atomic Jeff arrived at the Jh airport at 12:46pm MST. Went to the 49er, rooms weren’t ready yet. Back to the airport and picked up Mute from his Chicago flight. Back to the 49er, Mutes room was ready and me and AJeffs not ready. We then went to the brewery for a late lunch and finally checked in. Gonna relax a little and then maybe have some supper. It’s super warm in town, upper 30s and not much snow. Looks like the mountain should ski well due to the 5-6 feet they’ve received the past two weeks. Also some snow shower activity. Not many pictures so far, the cloud ceiling was low so I didn’t take any pics from the sky.

  38. Reading the Blue posts about the fog and rain and visibility, when they were interviewing the USA mogul team members, one of the girls from California was asked how she liked skiing in the rain to which she replied “We never ski in the rain out in California”. Then he asked Hannah Soar what she would say to the youngsters in the crowd to help them be better to which she replied “We used to ski in the rain when we were little, so ski in the rain so you’re used to it when you get to competitions like this one”. Ski The East!

Last run I could actually see. Busses were rolling In when I left. Way overdressed I was soaked from the inside and low energy level but happy I went.
