Drive up was spicy but it it in 4l so all good. AWD or chains required and they had people actually checking cars before letting them through... I'm not starting at the gondi because I heard there may be a wind hold so starting at the Grand canyon Express today. I'll be there in about 10 minutes if you want to check that cam. Will wave to you! I wasn't lost per se. The glades off of spur are seemingly endless so it kinda felt that way. 7 inches easy and still falling. Today is gonna be good!8 points

That's what I ultimately ended up doing. Skied the glades off of spur catwalk for the first time and it was stellar (pic below) As were the north rim glades. White lightning (also pic below) was open so I ran that as well. I feel like @JFskiDan would be in heaven in the woods here. It's actually weird getting lost in the woods at a western resort without Dan. Top notch ski day. Skied from 9 to 2. Didn't think I'd go that long but found some good stuff off trail that made me forget about the fog. Not to mention upper and lower ridge... any groomer for that matter was excellent as well. Weird cause it's sunny in town. But snows on the way. Lift tickets for Saturday are up to $300 lol.7 points

Today was so so good. Rode off of the Grand Canyon express all day because the gondola lines were insane. Ended up with 3rd chair this morning. Most people went right towards lower ridge. Others went left towards logjam but only a few went rode under the gondola so that’s where I went. It’s not a marked trail map but it’s easily one of my favorite runs there. Needless to say it was plenty untouched and of course plenty good. Mostly everything got tracked after about an hour but still stashes to find until calling it quits. Pulled a gaper move and broke out the phone for some video. It’s not good but whatever6 points

Rode with DW and AS this morning, sooooofffffttttt like leaving legit trenches. Challenge was just perfection, super soft carpet to let them rip. Lots of racer types in the house for some cool high-speed work on Rasins. It was getting uneven fast due to how soft it is but my best turns of the season so far for sure. If there is any way it's not mad brick tomorrow that would be real nice5 points

Should be up this afternoon. I did some ghetto boot work so hopefully that helps a bit 🤞5 points

It’s 430 here. Woke up like a kid on Christmas morning except instead of running to the tree I ran to the window to a blanket of white outside! Now I can’t go back to sleep. Waiting for the official report from the mountain.5 points

At BC from 5 to 6:30ish.....When I rolled in there were many buses but not a lotta cars.. ..Almost turned around....Walking in the courtyard was packed....After I made my way through the sea of humanity I was surprised to find a short lift line....Made my way to F chair and the line was non existent....Snow was good...Little chop at times but it kinda made it more fun...They have an OK base but there are spot that won't like it when Mr Sunshine returns...Bout 6:30 the lift lines started and called it... When I rolled out I counted like 18 buses....4 points

Taking a break but wow the fog is thick ... especially up top. Lightens up around 9k or so. Snow however is still excellent on piste. Tried to ski the gondi run but it was roped off. Lower bowl just reminded me how out of shape I am however. Low vis means more turns means I'm freaking tired. So an early lunch it is. Hoping the fog lifts a bit before going back out3 points

Bluebird! Snow is excellent, chalk like on piste. Off is crusty. Excellent views today. Can see the north rim on the Grand canyon pretty clearly. Sunshine and groomers kinda day for sure. They do need snow though. Still fantastic... Demoing Nordica enforcers which I really like. May purchase after the season. Great day!!3 points

The forecast is decent for snowmaking, the main thing is that while not super cold, the forecast for the next week is dry so I expect overnight snowmaking. I don’t see any trails closing, blue is gonna get switchback open and maybe sidewinder. Airhead was talking about long range forecast being cold, it’s not the 8-14 is above average so they need to blow every chance they get. You got this Blue, you’re my boy…let’s fucking go…2 points

Tomorrow afternoon. A scary big yellow ball in the sky is supposed to make an appearance over the weekend. May do a hike and look for some BC area in case winter actually happens in two weeks.2 points

Have fun in Killington, may the Snow Gods bless you. Today was day 4 in a row for me at Blue. I thought conditions weren’t as bad as yesterday. Challenge was actually pretty nice- soft bumps. So irritating to have Razors and NMDW closed.. and NO ONE ON IT ALL DAY. We were drooling over the corduroy on NMDW as we went over it on the quad. Didn’t get crazy amount of runs in this week, due to conditions, but JAWIP. just another week in paradise.2 points

The Lifts: Good: Those JH lifts boot you up there…and the entire trip maybe 3-4 two minutes or less stops. Was mostly ski on..not many liftlines I don’t count if it’s like 10 chairs or less that’s just a chance to unbuckle boots and wipe sweat from brow. When it was a little busy when skiing solo late morning, I never waited over like 3 minutes in a singles line and would have been less but some really skittish people in the singles line and dumbass snowboarders who need to be on the outside. Everybody pulls the bars down now…there used to be pushback from the locals years ago and on short lifts like Teton and Teewinot, I often just went with the flow while gripping the lift for dear life lol. Bad: the oil was drip drip dripping on peoples ski stuff the one day mostly on Mute and Atomic Jeff from I think the Sublette chair or maybe thunder. Ugly…the look on the faces of two employees when I was about to board the gondola they were on..so then I held up and got to ride up with my homeys.2 points

Yes. Cost shouldn't matter when it's once a year and your making memories with nieces and nephews.2 points

And take pictures of their faces when they see what an agile mofo you are on skis!2 points

@Mixilplix I was looking for you but never saw you when I was there between 6-8. Rode from 6-8ish doing a handful of runs off of the triple then started doing some top to bottom runs and finished with a few more runs off of the triple. GFs progressing well, still mostly pizza-ing around but starting to carve a little bit more and handly speed better without panicking. Learning how to do full stops better and better each time out. Its pretty cool to watch somebody progress from hardly getting down the carpet hill to doing top to bottom runs in about 2 weeks/4 trips. Last night was the first night that she truly had fun!2 points

Thanks man. I’m not 100% sure what it is but I just really enjoy being out here. Snowbowl isn’t Utah, Jackson or a lot of CO. But I enjoy skiing here as much as anywhere. I like the terrain, layout, look and feel of the mountain and the scenery is up there with anything I’ve been. It isn’t 2000 plus acres, cliffs, pucker up steeps or anything like that but it is enough; and Flagstaff isn’t pretentious…just down to earth people who enjoy being outside (with a lot of good eats). Maybe it’s just the older I get the less I feel the need to venture out of my comfort zone. I think I just like being comfortable.2 points

Looking like snow showers and maybe some sun today as the forecast is calling for the heavier snow to start at 8pm tonight. Supposed to get 2 to 4 in town tonight with up to 11 inches over 7k feet. Only 75 inches in so far this season so they need it. Unfortunately flat iron, white lightning and upper bowl are closed but some natural snow trails and tree shots are in play like the Gondi line and jeep trail etc. Looking forward to skiing some of that today. Solo today as my daughter is back on campus. Oh and Forgot to mention I won a free Smith Mission helmet yesterday courtesy of snowbeezy. Got entered into a raffle for answering a few safety questions my number was called. Pretty cool as I was looking at new helmets. Lady at the ski shop said I can switch it for another brand if I wanted but opted to keep it.2 points

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly…. Good: Comfortable temperatures. Bad: No powder days although I’ve had at least 30 Pow days at JH before. Ugly: My foot early in the trip which caused me to skip the Hobacks…the boys even wanted to see it.. Good: The Crew…only thing that would have made this trip better would have been surprise appearances from Toast and Nazareth Jay. NMSki is always fun and may have the best demeanor of anybody I know. He’s a very polite guy and when I slipped on ice yesterday and ate shit, he even waited to laugh until he knew I was ok. I goof on Mute sometimes but it’s all in good fun, he’s a super nice guy and his skiing has improved tremendously since he skied JH with us four years ago. His Big Dick energy inspires me to be more active. Dirtwolfs first trip to JH and despite a bout of food poisoning, he got knocked down but got up again and made the best of his time in JH, a super laidback go with the flow kind of guy, and not fussy at all. And Atomic Jeff, like the strict dad I never had…has almost as many days at JH as me and PASRs resident Sommelier..and perhaps one of my biggest fans lol Bad: Service at some restaurants..JH is the only place starters arrive at the same time as entrees…or just sit for 15 minutes before you even get water, it’s almost comical..but It’s not easy being a service worker in one of the most expensive ski towns in America. Ugly: People in the airport and on the plane with crutches…2 points

Just made it back home. Travel was smooth…flight was supposed to leave at 2:09PM mountain time and left around 2:30PM but made it back to Newark on time around 820PM eastern. Took a solid 45+ minutes to get bags..but I literally walked onto the Parking spot Haynes bus and had my own bus..$5 tip for the driver cause he helped me with my bags. Since it’s only like 9pm on my time I’ll be up for awhile so I’ll start on the Good the Bad and the Ugly. Way more Good than bad and ugly this trip. Some parting shots of the ski area2 points

Arrived in flag around 12am local time. Ride up was smooth as always with a pit stop a del taco for a burrito (side note…del taco has the best fries. Sounds crazy but it’s true. They’re crinkle cut). Anyway…Since snowbowl road is a pain in the ass I asked the rental car place for awd and they gave me a pretty cool jeep gladiator. No new snow today but sunny skies and highs in the 30s. Should be awesome. Stoke levels are a 10 out of 10.2 points

Got home from an evening sesh at Blue The True. Sugar lumps sugar lumps everywhere. Main Street top to bottom was reminiscent of Superstar in May at Killington. Kids freaking everywhere but crowds werent so bad with all 3 lifts running. Razors and Freefall were closed for ski team as was Nightmare and Dreamweaver for what looks like another race course build. I'm not a big fan of night riding but it was still worth it. Now a few days rest before Killy!1 point

Couple of hours this morning at Frost. 33 when I got there, 37 when I left. Most of the time on east mountain. Still a long ways to get Floyd’s open, but they are trying. Exhibition open. They widened the bottom headwall of River Shot by pushing snow off to the right. Slopes are in great shape, very firm with a little soft stuff on top. Nothing off piste. Holding up well when I left. Top speed almost 15 mph faster than yesterday at that other mountain. Started not having an empty slope in front of me about 11. First trips on new east mountain lift. Still as slow as before. Not running Tbolt lift weekdays.1 point
