Empty, no racers, BFG and C1er in the house. Rode with Jack and Erik. When I arrived they had mad guns on and the cloud was in full effect, I figured it would correspondingly suck hairy ball sack but I was totally wrong. First run down Main I was still working on believing it was good but just an absolute carpet to arc arc arc. We followed it up with NMDW and while not perfect it was 95%, you can really honk on the turn and hit the two booters with so much speed. Challenge was next and was as good as Challenge gets, super high speed carves into big launches off falls. Rotd was Widow, le chute, lower. Chute was primed for launch and unsurprisingly the pilot was throwing shifties out in the stratosphere. It was so good we rode it like 5 times in a row just extracting every ounce of float possible. I had an absolutely must be done at 11 but between the sublime weather and booterrific conditions I used every last second. Razors was just ok, the colder snow meant the blown shit went to small cookies and coming soon was a shit field of cookies but it didn't matter one of the best mornings this year for sure.13 points

I had a few days just as this crew departed and it was pretty much more of the same type of weather. Of course with my luck as I depart the snow arrives. 🥲 i feel bad cause I did not realize 49er is literally across the street from Mountain Modern. I would have stopped by to say Hi. 😔 @GrilledSteezeSandwich i had a French speaking crew on Mountain Modern bus offering everyone an early morning flask swig. They were from Montreal and I was invited up Tremblant anytime. They could really drink lol Another guy from Exton, PA was staying out there ski bumming for three weeks. How I wish I could get that to happen for me. 🙏 Headwall and anything in Casper was closed during my stay. It is what it is. There is always next year. By Friday people were going out gates and my group had a short discussion about going up Cody. The intel was it was chalky snow up top but the bottom third of Rock Springs was a miserable sheet of ice heading back into the Hobacks. Deal breaker So alot of our days started at Casper where the piste runs were groomed AM not PM. Not the steeps you want at JH but fun edgeable snow. The fog layer seemed to stay away from there. Early lunch then over to Thunder and Sublette for some corn snow mogul laps around Ten Sleep, Cirque, Laramie area. I don’t have pics yet but some North Trees were decent lines also cause hardly anyone was going in there and well when visibility was good it was nice. Pic from Top Looking North I believe . Pretty big crown (red highlight) and slide path below it from earlier in week. those rocks behind us at Sublette sign should be mostly snow covered looks like April not early February It was fun times regardless of conditions Teton Thai up at the Bilkage had some really delicious food. I recommend, just get there before 530pm before the rest of the gsper hoards.8 points

Second chair Quad . Razors first run…. First turn incitation was rejected so I pointed them straight down and some slow arc turns. My helmet whistles at ludicrous speed. Coming soon was meh like @Johnny Lawsaid . Main st and Barneys had some dust on and was ok first time and nasty the second time. Nightmare was really nice for a while with a few pedestrians but a few cookies emerged but still nice. Only an hour and a half today. It’s going to be a stellar week to be out!4 points

Won’t matter, they tried to tame the resort with their Blue campaign a decade ago and just attracts more goobers who can’t handle the mountain.2 points

Hey All, I’m back from another fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 7:15am and it was 28 degrees with a rising sun. In the house was everybody except Kyle, Salty, RideDE, Nancy and Hayata. First OG six pack to challenge which was a little slick and uneven but better than yesterday. Lazy was good initially and I repeated that. Coming soon had some new manmade which was nice and lower paradise was very variable and nutty. I skied chute for the first time this season and snow was ok for the 5 seconds of it with quite the lip. The rest of Main Street was the washboard rolly polly stuff. I also skied mid way to little gap to burma and pretty slick. Crowds were a little less than yesterday. Another fun parking lot and Enjorales had Gumbo for us. It either needs to get warmer or colder for conditions to improve. This in between stuff just leads to deep sugar. It’s nice that there’s no features on barbs way, now they’re on Central Park. No pictures today.2 points

Haven't been here since our kids were little so I figured I'd use my Indy Pass to get a day of carving under blue skies with not a cloud anywhere. Got a ton of runs in off the Tomahawk HSQ which also provided some nice convo with total strangers on the way to the top. As the sun warmed temps to the mid 40s the snow got softer & a little sticky here & there so I stuck to the shady side wherever possible. Base was impressively deep in many places. Machine groomed packed manmade that was groomed fine in most places but a little...weird...in a few others as you can see from the photos- choppy & "gouged" is the only word that comes to mind. ROTD was Delaware. All in all a very pleasant day.1 point

Was over there this afternoon with the DW, and the ski patrol bathrooms are boarded up. 😩 Telstar and Solitude look like the whales are almost ready to push out. Floyd’s has a ways to go. Couple of guys riding ski bikes on One Park.1 point

Was up this morning, first chair. Conditions were sweetness on the half shell. Not a bad run on the hill. F chair side especially nice. Started to soften up around 11:30. Very light crowd. Expect next 2 days to be the same.1 point

@Johnny Law I think WP is owned by Alterra now but used to be owned by the city of Denver1 point

Wow! Just read Alterra in a buying Arapahoe basin. I don’t really ski there much but my oldest loves that mountain. in other news I see Jackson Hole is staying independent and selling to a local family.1 point

Back home. Was a really nice trip…got to spend quality time with my kid, three excellent ski days…a bluebird / groomer day, a good tree day and a powder day, got a brand new helmet worth a buck forty for free courtesy of snowbowl, had excellent pizza and gelato, got a chance to check on the land and area around there, had two on time flights that arrived early and were half empty, racked up Starbucks points and realized that despite wanting one forever, I’m probably not a jeep guy (did come home to a broken fridge though) Till next time. See everyone at blue next weekend.1 point

At BC from 5 to 6:30ish.....When I rolled in there were many buses but not a lotta cars.. ..Almost turned around....Walking in the courtyard was packed....After I made my way through the sea of humanity I was surprised to find a short lift line....Made my way to F chair and the line was non existent....Snow was good...Little chop at times but it kinda made it more fun...They have an OK base but there are spot that won't like it when Mr Sunshine returns...Bout 6:30 the lift lines started and called it... When I rolled out I counted like 18 buses....1 point

That's what I ultimately ended up doing. Skied the glades off of spur catwalk for the first time and it was stellar (pic below) As were the north rim glades. White lightning (also pic below) was open so I ran that as well. I feel like @JFskiDan would be in heaven in the woods here. It's actually weird getting lost in the woods at a western resort without Dan. Top notch ski day. Skied from 9 to 2. Didn't think I'd go that long but found some good stuff off trail that made me forget about the fog. Not to mention upper and lower ridge... any groomer for that matter was excellent as well. Weird cause it's sunny in town. But snows on the way. Lift tickets for Saturday are up to $300 lol.1 point

Agree on the family that owns Berkshire East. Well run place. They also have the big farm Warfield House Inn across the road that is a bed and breakfast/ events location that is absolutely worth staying at. Have done it twice and they can handle groups from a few people to like 30 or more. Highly recommended!!! Mt. Snow is also only about a 1/2 hour away too.1 point

I agree. I just skied Berkshire East this past Saturday. They do a great job and would be a good match for Elk. They did a good job with Catamount so far. Elk could add some glades and a high speed lift but otherwise leave it alone. Corporate ownership would ruin Elk.1 point

I sure hope not. Dealing with vail has led me to ride less. My experience at hunter a few weeks back was so atrocious I haven’t ridden since. Elk seems to be doing fine the way they are. that being said, the place is not used to its potential. Mountain biking and other summer events would be great there. if it was to get sold, I would hope it’s to the family that owns catamount and Berkshire east. It would be on a multi-pass but not of epic proportions. And those dudes have done fantastic stuff at Berkshire, catamount, and bosquet.1 point

Enough VT resorts already bought up, please don't let this one get ruined too! Can just see paid parking, pay to use the cabin, half the lifts closed mid week to save money.1 point
