  1. Hey All, I’m back from another fun AM session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I was up extra early to clear my car off and for a slower than anticipated drive which took normal time and arrived at the lower lot at 710am. It was in the upper 20s and the snow was just tapering off. Reports of 12-14” new snow in the southern Lehigh valley..in the western part of Allentown there was about 4-5” and about 3” of new snow at Blue the true. It wasn’t the heavy wet snow of the other day..more medium density. In the house were Atomic Jeff, JFDan, MBike mike, Dirtwolf, Falco, Enjorales, Mute, Boo bear, BenM, Becky Boo, Indiggio, Gary’s kid and many others. Second civilian OG 6pack..atomic Jeff snagged the first one..no stops so despite the quad loading about 20 seconds before, I made it to the top before those hoards and low and behold it was like the old days with Razors open. Woo woo woo razors was sweet effortless skiing with a couple inches of Pow Pow on top of smooth groomed snow…that was a nice run untracked top to bottom. Second run razors was closed for the race team and lots of untracked on challenge, enough that I skied challenge again to milk the last of the untracked on the left hand side. Next up was the Super summit safari six pack for a run on come around to x-ing to Main Street to switchback to Main Street to shuttle to barbs way. Of course freshies on X’ing..Main Street was super nice and switchback still had some leftover mini cookies. I did a repeat of the same run mainly to get the last of the freshies on X~ing then over to the quad for coming soon. Coming soon saw a lot of early traffic and was mostly mini Pow bumps…was pretty pleasant to ski. Then back to challenge which was still very nice…then a nightmare to dreamweaver which was mini pow bumps you just skied through. I found the crowds early to be pretty tolerable..short 1-3 minute lift lines until about 920am..trails were pretty crowded. I ended the session with another challenge while Falco and Atomic Jeff skied sidewinder which they said was smooth..and final run on raceway to chute to lower main lots of 3D snow but pleasant and minimal scratchiness. Conditions today were better than any of my 7 ski days this season at Jackson hole. Was a fun parking lot with beers snacks and an impromptu sausage Sunday with sausage and pork loin compliments of Enjorales. Mid morning there was a lot of sun and then it got cloudy and windier. I think the new snow will groom out well..conditions tomorrow should be excellent packed powder, I’m just hoping they don’t blow snow..save that for when I’m not there. JADIP

  2. Woke up at 5 to find it hat snowed 8-10....Shoveled driveway/walks/deck.....Road didn't look bad though....Don't get many chances to do non resort riding so I made my way to Pulpit Rock trail/road...Arrived around 8....Maybe 4 cars in the parking lot....About 30 with a brisk breeze...Absolutely fantastic skin up...Clouds broke for some blue sky.....The ride down was super floaty....At the bottom I put the skins back on and went around the reservoir and up the blue trail to the AT...Skinned back until it the trail had some pitch and was able to ride it back to the car ....Total distance 6.3 miles....Elevation gain 1385'....Somethin about earning your turns just feels good...One of the best days....

  3. Woke up at 4am for a bathroom trip and glanced down the hallway towards my dining room and thought I saw a tom of snow on my deck railing. I laughed and convinced myself that I was half asleep. Woke up at 6 and looked out. ??? No way! I went outside and guessed a foot. 26° and lightweight stuff. 8 Or so plowed out and it was over the top of my 12” plow! Decided to head a few miles south to a nature reserve where I hike from time to time. I was surprised to find only 6” Plan B a few miles North to Emmaus South mountain nature preserve where I toured probably 8 years ago. I was a bit disappointed to find a lot more brush than the last trip. I headed east a little more and found some more friendly area. It cliffed out and I had to detour. Only did 2 miles, the snow got considerably heavier than this morning.

  4. Just got home from an amazing First tracks morning at The Camel on my new pow board. First tracks was the play I cut fresh lines on the East Side until 8 and caught one of the first Stevie chairs to cut fresh lines until 9:30 and bounced. Never waited in line until the final run at 9:30 when the masses were piling in. All in all JADIP. Have fun @saltyant, nice seeing ya this morn!

  5. They had all the fan guns on at 330 when I was wrapping up. Missed the Pow, got on whatvwas left after 9am due to kid issues. The lift lines weren't too bad all things considered, stayed mostly on the quad where the season pass to singles line was the quickest. Another great day, love the full winter look and feel on the mountain.

  6. Awesome day. The kid loved the fresh snow and had a good time in winter adventure camp. I enjoyed how light the snow was compared to Tuesday. Wish that band would have came across a little more north Thanks to Enjo for the delicious protein in the lot Pic2- While picking up the kid we got a kick out of tubing only making it down ~60% of the hill. Looked like more walking than sliding

  7. *real time report for Doug 💙 My neighbor told me about a closer in parking lot at Snowmass. Since it’s a holiday weekend and I was cutting it close w time, I got one of the last spaces, woohoo! Got to the Village Express lot about 9:10 after the bus and walking thru the mall. we have had some snow! Everything is ungroomed and chopped up or bumped. As seems to be my habit now, I went right over to Big Burn lift. On the way there (all ungroomed chop) girl is straight lining totally out of control and came within inches of taking me out. Started out on Sneaky’s. Here is a pic from the top for @Johnny Law Ran the Powerline Glades a few times off here. Nothing like Created Butte trees. Very well spaced. Lots of powder in there. Scarfed down a mahi sandwich and some M &M’s the mahi was not great. Would not get again. not sure how much longer I will last. Legs getting tired from the bumps and chop. Crowds are amazing for a holiday weekend. Singles line is 5-6 min. I need to find some down hill ski ladies here to hang with. Skiing alone gets a bit boring. But overall 10/10 day here at Snowmass.

  11. Was your one ski way up near the top and someone bring it down for you? Cause I think I saw that. first run down razor’s was magical. Rode from 8-11:30, lines weren’t too bad. Since I had a little Caesar’s gift card, went to the one on Allen street afterwards. Only my 4th time ever in Allentown city limits

  12. At like 745am, a ski patroller going up for another dawn patroller run asked if anybody wanted to be a ski patroller and it was an echo of No’s so I made sure I said Hell No extra extra loud lol and Dick Nosely was laughing..not as hard as Enjorales was laughing later on in the lot. The ski school “tram” golf cart shuttle thing loved going down our row..so many happy noobs getting to see the gritty underbelly of a major PA ski area.. Also tomorrow there’s gonna be a special guest at Blue according to Tactical Tim…he wouldn’t tell me, I’m guessing it’s not Saltys sister 😞 JADIP

  17. Really nice day up at Montage. Probably the most crowded I have ever seen the place but 75% of the people were on the learning hill. Lots of buses. I thought they started allowing uphill but it was just gapers trying to get off of the harder trails because they got lost. Long Haul was running and I rode that for the first time in my life since it was never open every other time that I have been there. Even thought the lifts there are slow, I can't really complain about the place. The snow was great and the trails are a lot of fun there. Nice to get back there and always a good time. 8.5/10 for a PA day.

  21. Reports of 11" knee deep western style powder. Reports come from friends that are regulars in UT and CO every year. One guy commented it was as good as anything out west he has seen. last time BC saw snow like this was probably about 17 or 18 years ago. And yes, it got very crowded today- all lots filled.

  24. I love how CB staggers their lift openings like today, so I hit untracked off BB6 at 730 and then more untracked off Stevie at 800. Cliffhanger was Da Bomb as the people around me tore up the perder creating a snow cloud as I sliced thru untracked paradise. 10/10 experience, best runs of the season in PA for me

  31. What about the hike to blue trail I believe long shot it’s skiers far far right and ends at the lower village. I did that when I visited and wow that’s a great long long run and says 1/4 of the way and 1/2 of the way and 3/4 of the way…I wanna get back there might even stay down valley where it’s a little lower and cheaper accommodations. The campground area is rad..that’s like a mini Hobacks.

  32. Hotdog Hans is alright but I think he’s in jail right now in Aspen after some lewd conduct after an X-Games after party. Id prefer Hansi Hinterseer… DiMe he might make you wanna switch over to the dark side and become a skier.

  37. I heard Switchback was no so good today. Challenge was amaze balls. In fact I ran Challenge more than Razor's Edge even though I rarely get to ski Razor's.

  38. It is, but it’s normally good after 4 PM on Saturdays and Sundays except for holidays. The contradictory email they sent me must have been cut and pasted because the schedule says good after 4 PM My work schedule is pretty flexible ,I’m not a big fan of skiing on weekends. The only thing I miss out on is skiing with the bump crew in the afternoons.

  39. My kids had a teacher in elementary school with the last name "Onderdonk". Boy was it a mistake calling her "Mrs. Badonkadonk" within their earshot.

  44. What a freakin' joke. I drove 20 minutes to Tussey, got my skis and boots ready and now the resort is closed again due to "chair lift broken". But the website says the black expert and blue square trails are open. Big let down Tussey. Very, very disappoint. 0 out of 10 stars. I'd give negative stars if possible.

  45. Lift closed at Tussey. Maybe they are getting chair lift consultation from Camelback? All that fresh pow pow at the top of the very high mountain top will be radical once they open. I think Tussey is your favorite name for a ski mountain as it sounds kind of like Tushy.

  46. We checked out Garlic, Jax, Wobbly Barn, not to much going on there midweek. Met some cool people on the ganjola rides from locals to tourists we rode around with. VT seems to have an extra cool vibe now that they went rec legal.
