Hey all, I’m back from another fun day at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at like 712am and only JLaw and Maryland liftee in the house..not to fear many many more PASRs arrived. The temperature was in the mid 40s under partly sunny skys. First civilian quad to challenge which was pretty smooth and a little soft. Good enough for a repeat then Main Street which was super nice soft cord on top and a little choppier spring snow lower down with some skeet spots. I also repeated that then over to coming soon which was nice chop. Sidewinder was very pleasent and I skied that a few times, a few bare spots, lazy mile was smooth and fast..and empty I think because the OG six pack wasn’t running. There were a few liftlines on the quad, as enjorales said, when the OG six pack isn’t running, they have less lift capacity than two years ago. Skiing stayed well and I pressed on repeated the runs that were nice which was almost everything…I ended up skiing I believe 15 runs by 1030..would have been about 17 if not for the lines. Fun parking lot today with a sausage Sunday and Maryland guy gave me a patch with a bird he made cause I’m an early bird..well I sure got the worm today. Rumor has it this is the last week of weekday operation then weekends only, with the forecast it could be possible…so just gotta enjoy every day. I’ll likely be back at Blue Tuesday AM. Arrived at 9 after an uneventful trek down 6 and 81. Ticket line was long with only 2 windows open and they were running a forklift through the line against OSCA regulation(assuming). They had a bunch of people going different directions for the breakdown and clean up after the concert yesterday. Beer cans and bottles everywhere. Started at Iron Horse with plans to run Fast Track all the way down but we couldn’t get to it without skating uphill. With 3 boarders and 3 kids in the group, that wasn’t going to happen. All the main runs were open, some with thin coverage, but the connectors and little trails in the woods are closed. Def had to skate a little more than usual trying to get places. Ended up going down the terrain park to Lower FT for the first run. Only did Runaway for the other lower slope and never made it over to Phoebe. I wanted to at least show them Boomer but the kids were having a fun on Easy Street with the side cuts. Weather was warm but cloudy all day. No lift lines or under a minute across the hill. The Salami Slalom was going on and got a kick out of watching from along Haul. Open entry for unlimited runs and just had to get two times the closest or exact for victory. Last pic we enjoyed someone parking perpendicular to every other car in the lot. Zero fucks given8 points

measured 7” on front porch, backyard seems to have more. Lots of wind. I see reports the gondola line at Aspen is backed up to the bus stop (about 2 city blocks plus the stairs to gondola) and Snowmass is just as bad. Supposed to snow all day again today and lightly throughout the week. Happy to see some winter here again. Was starting to see the bare road peeking through in my neighborhood.7 points

Today was one of the best of the season for sure. Just so much fun to blast off stuff in the slush and it's been awhile since we had nice lot weather. Switch was primo but side was the real treat. Super good mix of brown, rollers to get air and hero snow to push the hammer all the way down. I could have run those two forever. Nothing better than coming back from the double dip to shrimp and chicken skewers. Today was a mad good one to be out of the hill.5 points

Drove up to our AirBnB in Pleasant Mount last night with no issues. House is 3 miles back on dirt roads which we weren’t expecting. Take out from the Speakeasy Saloon was good. Burgers and Buff Chix pizza were stars but the calamari and loaded fry appetizers missed the mark. Up first thing but radar was all hunter green and sucked. Plan was to wait for a gap and the hourly said it was 2-6. Upper lot was open when we showed up at 1230 and got to park close. New this year was buy one get one tickets compared to free comped tickets from The Warren Miller film. We’re here with another family and it came to $293 for the day. The one you have to buy is an 8 hour ticket(~$90) plus 3 RFID cards, even though we would have been fine with the 4 hour pass but that’s the deal. 80% of the people on the hill were racers for an event. Up Seneca for the first lift and then we hung on the quad side to avoid the racers. Couple trails had zero snow lookers left but most had edge to edge coverage. Upper Tunkhannock was closed but lower was open and I love slutting it up for the lift. Started skiers left and worked our way over until soaked through around 5. All hero snow and a good time. Thought about doing the doll house here but no PASR discount is wild. House ended up with a precious moment shrine anyway. Over to Montage tomorrow.3 points

Those look like decent skis and boots. If she likes skiing she can take lessons with Mrs Snowbunski next season.2 points

Coverage looks pretty grate still. Thanks for the pics, I flew to Joysee today and didn't feel like flying all the way up to True Blue. Let me know when the picnic is, maybe I'll do a few low approaches at Beltzville.2 points

Tried chasing what I thought was the end on the radar, got absolutely drenched. The snow of course was super good soft serve but it was raining hard enough where it was hard to see. Big brown spots on side and upper main but otherwise they were doing OK. Low crowds, mostly racers coming off the hill and newbs. Sidewinder was still pretty smooth and fresh but once i got the cold trickle from all the zips on the pants i retreated to the car.2 points

@10:10 the quad line was a full Corral. It’s cause today is the last race day I’d the season and it’s a big one..some sort of tristate regional park ICUP type deal but they stayed off sidewinder and Main Street. They changed up the corner hip jump on nightmare. If it’s warm the day after it rains and then the sun comes out it’s like catching lightening in a bottle.1 point

Sorry @GrilledSteezeSandwich I didn’t think you were gonna start the thread. Perhaps a mod can merge them.1 point

👍 Clouds were a little lower than I would like but between 3,500 - 4000’ the thermals were pretty strong in that altitude range . I hung around West of the ski area but noticed a nonstop thermal by the sand quarry . I wanted a picture from due north .1 point

Shawnee 3/1/24. Empty. Full sun made it hot and sweaty with a side of ski tan. Great snow. Thankful that they allow uphill travel here M-F. Skinning to the top of F lift is always my favorite way to finish the day. It is almost never open but there is always snow up to it from the side. IMG_6334.MOV1 point

Haha. Even renewed my pass. Friday night crowds though.... Liftie was just lighting some kids up for throwing snowballs. Like in their face. Appreciate that1 point

Just got back from a short late afternoon sesh. Mostly lapped Come Around to confirm I dialed in some tricks I was working on yesterday. Crowds were light when I arrived at 3 but kids kept funneling in, however they started the other 6 pack. Snow I thought was still pretty good. Ventured over to Dreamweaver and thought the snow was great on Lazy, and Sidewider than I hit while over there. Big grass spot on Sidewinder but thats to be expected there. The new 3rd jump in NMDW is no joke. The first two arent bad but that 3rd one looks unforgiving. All in all JADIP at Blue The True. I'll be easy to spot this Spring.1 point

That would be cool, Re name it Superstar. That would be quite a buzzsaw for lip launchers . I met someone at Cannon mountain who got rekt by a mogul field. He lost an edge and went into a field at 40 mph. Busted up his ribs pretty badly and took quite a while to recover. Challenge was okay but there were a bunch of newbs on Falls . I returned for a late afternoon session and Barneys was haggard with turf in places and icy spots ☹️ Took a few runs with @mbike-ski Coming soon ditch was meh , I popped back out and couldn’t set an edge in one spot. Main st was not bad.1 point

Nice pictures..they should seed big moguls on the chute..that would catch a few people coming off the lip off guard. How was challenge?1 point

It’s a wasted run for me most of the time. I like lazy mile when it first opens for the season for the variety of it and a few times it does have the best snow but it’s way to slow for my liking unless the snow is lightening fast and also smooth…I definitely had a few times this season where it was a foot deep thick marbles and cookies..good thing I’m an agile mofo..just straight ran that shit with my hands on my knees BenM style..1 point

I rode this morning as I had to get out after a long week of actually working. Bfg crew was there otherwise alot of ikons. Soft with some stick where they blew, hard where they didn't. The chute lip is even bigger and first launch I was 33% rolling the windows down. Lazy I thought was the worst but as the sun baked things up it was all improving fast.1 point

It's amazing how good man made snow can be, isn;'t it? We skied man made snow over bumps at montage last weekend. So edgeable and smooth...snow making has come a long way.1 point

Nice. Jersey taking the Jersey to Vermont. Seen at Killington. Looks like they got further than the car on Shuttle or whatever at Blue. https://www.facebook.com/groups/455910462724764/?hoisted_section_header_type=recently_seen&multi_permalinks=9309860085505381 point

Did you know that little round top is located near round top mountain in nearby Gettysburg…on the battlefield actually. the confederate army attempted to storm little round top to get the coveted higher ground. It didn’t pan out and the confederate army was pushed back. Had that happened there’s a good chance the south wins the battle, storms Washington and wins the war. Picketts charge happened near little round top on day 3. That effectively ended the battle and was the turning point of the war. Gettysburg is an amazing yet somber place. The country as we know it would perhaps not be had it not been for the events that occurred there. Probably best that I stop now as I can go on and on about the civil war.1 point

Hey All, I’m back from a fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot before 720am and it was in the low 30s under mostly cloudy sky’s which became partly sunny. Was nice seeing Johnny Law back from Utah along with all of the PASRs except for Zonked, Toast, Salty and Nancy. Second civilian OG six pack to Challenge which was pretty firm and had a few mini root rollers in the middle. I skied a rare early Paradise run next and it was nice with no people and sort of smooth. Next up was Main Street, upper was nice and smooth and lower was more 3D but not terrible. Sidewinder I did not enjoy again, just bad grooming and rollers. Lazy mike was not bad..pleasant enough. Coming soon was firm and bad grooming but better than expected..I returned to challenge and Main Street and enjoyed a Raceway which had gates to midway to little gap to burma. Burma had serious ice in the corners. All in all not the best ski conditions but decent enough, I rate it an 8 out of 20…sounds better than a 4 out of 10 or 2 out of 5 for those good at reducing fractions. Fun parking lot with beer, snacks, the ski school Tram and even a little dancing when car alarms were going off. Looks to be chilly tomorrow AM so maybe some more action from the snowmaking cannons..aka operation Blizzard 3.0 JADIP1 point

I thought today was pretty good all things considered though it may just be because I finally got to run switch. It was pretty firm first run down Challenge and I was sooo far in the backseat with the change over from UT. It took my brain 3/4 of the run to be like yeah bud you gotta get way forward. It got kinda full around 930 and it was alot more threading the needle but the snow was a touch softer. Mad good to be back and chill with everyone and super good to get switch and side.1 point
