Hello trip report slacker here. Drove up to The Loaf Sunday, made it here in 10 hours- not bad. Spent Monday am lapping the new expansion - West Mountain. Sweet wide Blue Groomers with some woop-de-doos. Made me think of J law, you could get some nice air. Back over lapped the Superquad a bit and Timberline lift a bit. Then over to Kingpine. Today pretty much the same, just skipped West Mountain. Probably craziest trail we did was Ripsaw. Rocks, grass, frozen bumps. I’ll post the video- doesn’t do it justice. "Hope it's Vail"..... not sure if that was another April Fools joke, hahaha. Pros: Epic passes for 2/3rds the price of my Elk Passes this year. Cons: Literally everything else about Vail. No interest in spending my weekends standing in #epicliftlines

I said wazup to Wally as you were parked next to me….your parking spot was first occupied by @RidgeRacer Hyundai Kona that @saltyant rented in Utah..then Nancy’s Tuscon…maybe later on replaced by a Hyundai Santa Fe or a Nissan Milwaukee lol

me, @Schif and Wally were driving from Philly to NEPA for some easter festivities, so despite the broken wrist - we stopped at Bleu for some final bonus runs to close out the season. We skied a couple runs with @GrilledSteezeSandwich and @Mixilplix then hung in the parking lot for a bit. Here are some final parking lot moments of 2023-24 season.

Arrived at the Ramshead parking lot a little after 11:00pm. Partly cloudy skies, no winds and mid to upper 40s. Snow was just softening up on my first run and progressively corned up through the day. Closed out the place for a solid 17 runs. Storm rolls in tomorrow and I spend the next 2 days riding itnat Stratton! No microwave, no problem. Mamas leftover stuffed cabbage for dinner . Day 58. Another bright blue day.

I feel like they should do a discount if you don’t do the payment plan…that would make sense without going into a discussion on the time value of money.

No worries but you usually don’t even mention that Hyundai Kona sticks out in my mind from Utah trip. @saltyant did you purchase your blue pass…next season I wanna bring more snacks to the lot…you should bring snacks as well…I’m thinking a case of captains wafers and pops and Enjo like cashews, they’re pricey but YOLO lol

I did a few more bump runs and was bummed that everyone was gone by the time I got back to the lot. grilled up a few sausages and hung with the bfg crew

um whether or not i'm right i have no idea.

Awesome time with my teens. Skied about 30k of vert today including moguls, trees, steeps. Stayed at the Christy Lodge in Avon. Got some HH jackets at an end of season sale. Boarding the red eye in an hour.

It is a nice service - very prompt and friendly. For 1-2 people it is to me a no brainer particularly with the Epic discount if going to only one Epic Mt as there is really no need for a car in any of those CO towns, as well as the cost and difficulty of ensuring you can renting a traction law compliant car and the challenges of driving through a rocky mt storm. For 3 people I could have saved some money renting an AWD vehicle, but there would have been much more hassle and driving risk involved. Of course Bustang is the cheaper way to go - but schedules are far less flexible and you have to still get between airport and downtown Denver with all your gear to get the bus. I opted to pay more to use our time and energy more efficiently. Very nice cookies - fresh slightly warm chocolate chip with soft center and crisp exterior. Take one at a time but can come back for another round. There is about a 15 min window they are being distributed starting at 3.

Day 57. Forget Super Bowl Sunday and New Year's Day. The new "skier's secret" day is Easter. 19 chair rides and I only rode with someone else twice. No one here. On a day like this.

How do you eat then?

I hardly ever go out to eat on ski trips.

There are some really nice restaurants in Rutland like Dominos Pizza. I ate there when I went to Killington in 2023. It was really nice to check out the local cuisine.
