  2. Honestly, im kinda hoping they just wait to open next Friday. Get a nice base on some key trails so they can hold on if we get some less than stellar snowmaking weather. Im not saying blow 3 trails 4' deep, but enough to get by just in case. I mean, maybe they can do that in 3-4 days, but at this point, why rush it. Does anybody know if they added equipment to lower main? Its been pointed out thats where the bottle neck for basically that entire side is. The entire season it was pretty thin there always.

  3. For sure and I say this as unfacetiously as I possibly can, today’s rain is good for the snowmaking ponds, especially with the upcoming snowmaking blitz that’s about to ensue starting on Black Friday.

  5. This just gave me an idea. The parking lot X factor that we've been chasing ever since tableside Creme Brulé became the norm.

  6. Stussy was definitely popular. I had a few shirts. The local surf shops would get in a few pieces and be sold out quickly.

  7. I feel like that sign was there last year. And im pretty sure its just like the “experts only” sign they put up on coming soon. Just a suggestion, not enforced, and mainly ignored.

  8. Was up at Blue lower area being sure my pass worked. Last year, first day, first in line at rope drop and the pass wouldn’t scan. New coffee bar across from the store. Plus parking area next to the patrol shack is pass holders and handicapped only. Gravel trucks going in.

  10. I kind of have to make opening day at Blue, in the past when my work schedule wasn’t as flexible, I’d be up for night skiing opening day if on a weekday at least a couple times. But I like to be there with Ashley and Jim and Justin Backover the WFMZ business reporter some know as channel 69 along with the Philly New York New Jersey and NEPA media..and what’s the center of it all..you guessed it folks, Blue mountain…Touch the Sky..Blue mountain.

  11. I’m still expecting Friday and agree it would make for a much grander opening with the time they have to make snow and prepare for that date but…………. I’m still showing up if they wanna WROD it earlier in the week 😇

  16. Rise and grind is 2 seasons old I think and a no brainer stop for me after skiing on a Saturday morning for parking lot lattes.

  20. Hi my name is Barb and I am a ski town all star hat addict. I believe this one makes 6. I wanted to break in my new hat and grr we some cardio so I went to Buttermilk to uphill. It is not yet opened. There was what looked like a groomed section (as wide as a groomer truck) in the center. But since it snowed last night about 5”, I decided to follow the path of the “main” uphill route that is signed. I didn’t go too far, maybe 2 steep head walls? Broke trail the way up and down, which was fun. I have a nagging injury from my dog pulling me down on the ice. But it was a sunny day, about 25 degrees and I saw one human when I was coming down. Still gonna log it, i was on snow for over a mile so it counts.

  21. I still say the whole projected day was all fantasy anyways. JFDAN's forecast is awesome and if they have the usual and something open for the 6th that is a major win in my mind.

  22. Set off Saturday morning in search of snow, I was hopeful as I approached my typical go to trail at Weiser SF, trees and ground were covered, unfortunately everything except the trail I was racking my brain trying to think of any mtb/ hiking trails that were close by at elevation. It had been a few years since I rode there but remembered Moosic up by Scranton. Was thrilled to find 18-20” snow and set off up the road to link up with the Blueberry trail. All earnin’ and no turnin’. The heavy snow and tangles of bent over blueberry bushes and saplings made for some slow going. Toughest 2 mile flat ski I’ve ever done but it was good to get out and play in the snow

  24. if this confirms, it should be a baller opening with the new snowmaking stuff. they will be able to open 60% of their terrain 75% sooner then they would with only 60% of their resources. The big take away here is that all 3 of these forecasts show the same pattern. This looks really good. Like purple eggplant times 3.

  27. Going to Boise during Christmas break and planning on skiing Bogus Basin and Tamarack. Anyone have info on either place? I don't see any trip reports or the mountains listed on the skiing stats so I might be the first PASR

  29. Restless skiers and snowboarders will meet at brown, barren ski resorts to duel it out over who gets to ride the gun testing patch. Roving bands of banditos will ravage western resorts, rustling snow all the way back to PA in a modern twist on boot legging. They will be fine, no matter the drought they will get an exemption.
