  1. I was told this weekend this Razor cam is for the race parents. They won't let parents walk up hill anymore(surprised they did before since they won't even let us go up hill an hour before opening but they let people walk across trails during busy weekends) and will have live viewing areas in the lodges so they can try to sell food and drink to them. Only way to watch in person is with a lift ticket and skiing/riding.

  2. Just sharing some interesting snow observations/conditions from Colorado. After the large storm we had around Thanksgiving, we have been in a pattern of high pressure with cold nights and sunny days. As a result, there has been widespread surface hoar seemingly throughout the state. I went to a CAIC talk over the weekend and seen plenty of people comparing notes with pictures on FB. I thought it was only here where I am, but seems to be everywhere. Here is an image someone shared on FB. The surface hoar has grown to 2” feather like crystals. Needless to say, when we get our next big storms, if this layer is still present we are going to have a very weak layer.

  5. Super fun day on the skis..Again you had a mix bag of conditions on every open trail..Unfortunately I was not ready for the Katana like sharpening BC did on my edges...Whenever I got on to some early frozen cord/slick spots I was lookin like MC Hammer on crack..Crowds were pretty low but there are aways some kooks to keep you entertained... Big thanks to @enjoralas for all you do..

  7. Hey All, I’m back from another fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot before 720am and it was 33 degrees under mostly cloudy sky’s. In the house was everybody except Johnny law, Schif and Nancy. Second Civilan chair up the OG six to a very nice paradise..almost western groomer machine groomed packed powder conditions..second run a repeat of that then Midway to lower main and we saw Salty skiing down it from the lift Was ok conditions and not many people Some skied Chute which is now open and looked firm Lazy Mike is open and decent on the top 2/3 and lower section slick and narrow I went back for a few repeats on midway lower Main Street and paradise then to the lot around 930 and was a fantastic sausage Sunday with burgers dogs and pork with temperature rising through the 40s and sunnier skys JADIP

  11. Wonder what's going on here on Main St: And looks like they had to dig up a pipe or something on Razors, at least there was no snow there yet:

  12. Was there on Saturday and no crowds. Snow quality was pretty good. Too bad they'll have to reset again with the rain.

  13. I hate to spend money on stuff that's not fun, tires, insurance, clothes washers, dosing tank pumps, etc... Spending money on new skis, boots, trips, etc., well, that's a different spending altogether!

  15. Super solid evening session. Was gonna take today off hoping to have the place to myself in the rain tomorrow but the m-w closing announcement forced me to pull an audible and get out for a couple hours. Arrived around 3:30 to the longest lift lines of the week albeit not bad at all. Lazy certainly helped spread people out some and everything was super soft and fun. Chute was a bit smooth but softened enough to not be concern holding an edge. JADIP!

  16. Chute is firm was an understatement. It was rock-solid with cat track trenches on skiers left near the top. The bottom of Chute also choked down to a tight intersection with Midway and LMS which made for some spicy merges, carrying speed off Chute. The edges of Paradise kept getting better as the day progressed and the snow was softening up nicely, but didn't quite reach hero by 11 or so when we called it quits. Nowhere near as crowded as yesterday, so both Paradise and Burma didn't have near the load of sliders which made them treacherous yesterday around the same time.

  17. I had to bail around 930 today but great day and a pretty damn good first 3 days at Blue mountain to kick off the year with decent conditions overall and more terrain each day. Excellent way to start the ski season!

  18. Yes only two runs down from the top and conditions were usual blue (aka not great) but I was skiing with the PASR crew and THAT was great; not to mention, the guns were ablaze under the sunshine and the weather was perfect. Overall an awesome opening day! looks like chute to lower main, as well as come around are really close to opening up. Happy ski season all!!

  22. Fun day of mayhem: I don’t know all the PASRs but had thirdish? chair. My expectations were too optimistic for no cookies Lol . Things softened up a bit around 11 . I found a little side country fun on the first inside turn of Paradise and the usual side of Vista. I had been having some back issues and took some meds the last few days so I skipped beers . I felt really good for the first day but when the voice in my head said “One more run “ I knew it was quitting time, made it to just short of noon . Tried checking my stats but got the upside down skier screen .

  24. Hey All, I’m back from opening day of the 24/25 ski season at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 8:18AM and it was mostly cloudy with temperatures in the mid 20s with brisk winds. In the house were Mute, Atomic Jeff, Johnny Law, Mixilplix, PARidge, Airhead, Dirtwolf, Matt Edge, Bethlehem Fords crew minus Jimmy, Charles, Spider, Slim, NMSki, Rodney and many others. The OG six pack and super summit safari six opened right around 9am and I began on the OG six and was third chair and our fearless leader Atomic Jeff snagged first civilian chair. Paradise had very good coverage, wasn’t full width though maybe 2/3…was solid firm cord to start..Skied that again and some cookies and Boilerplate began to be exposed. Then up the SSSSP up to easy out to vista to burma, Burma had decent snow but pretty contested, skied Paradise again and getting busy…the slowest people seem to ski the widest but it is a slow skiing trail. They were blowing snow on Come Around, Midway, the chute, lower Main Street and upper razors. Sadly they haven’t blown any snow on Coming soon. I hit up Burma one more time and extra busy and paradise a few more times to end my session. The last run on paradise I actually had a pretty clear section in the middle so could let the skis run. Fun parking lot, had hard iced tea and then a couple beers…hungout with many people and caught up on what everybody did over the summer…good VIBES all around but sort of thought they would have blown more snow during this cold period as two years ago and last year they had a shorter window and got coming soon open early but for coming soon to open they need to run the quad. Anyway as Johnny Law says any skiing before MLK day is bonus JADIP ski many of you tomorrow.

  25. I think siskel and ebert would give this 2 thumbs down Mike, at least in Albrightsville. Bbq grill and table show about 5”, but on the ground its half. I would say the ground is too warm, and lots more will melt tonight. i think its been snowing for most of the day and the bbq grill measuring device doesnt look any different. i think about 5 miles north, and maybe more from jack frost has way more. Actually i think montage was over a foot around 8-9 am.

  26. Anybody stop to see the quad's bullwheel on the ground Sunday? Looks like a bunch of boxes of parts, perhaps a bearing replacement?
