Hey all, I’m back from another morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 737am and it was in the upper 30s under mostly cloudy sky’s with moderate winds. In the house were BFord crew, Atomic Jeff, Indiggio, Oz and Airhead. The OG six began a minute or two late per usual but I managed first civilian chair. First run on Paradise was fast and smooth and even a little packed powder on homestretch. Lazy had a smooth lane and slightly choppier and the falls was alright my first double black of the season. Up the super summit safari and Widowmaker is now open and was alright a little uneven but no cookies. Midway was smooth and a little slick and lower Main Street was real good with a hardpack lane and a 3D snow lane. I then repeated lazy and paradise a few times and hit up the chute as well which was mad technical Yo. Peaced out right before 1030am…today was my best day so far this season cause I could let my skis run, no cookies and no crowds. JADIP almost time for the weekend roll call thread.5 points

Forgot my gloves in the car, had to walk back for them. Stopped a little bit after 11, paradise is holding up real well. Widowmaker is a little slick, but midway and chute were nice. Groomers working in the bottom of razors. Last night, the groomers seemed to have just groomed a single path up the slopes and left half of them ungroomed. A little bouncy first thing, but it evened out after a while.4 points

My friend from Denver asked if she took a personal day from work, would I meet her at Copper. Took about 2 hours 20 min and as I pulled into the free lot with a line of cars, she was right behind me, good timing! Parking was very full but the runs were not. First run off the American flyer lift and it was in the shade (and a popular lift) and it was all scraped off and icy. Blech. We decided to try and find some better snow. We went on American Eagle lift and the one above that and the snow was so much better. Did mostly all ungroomed runs all morning. Lift lines were about 1-2 minutes and never full chairs. Making snow all over the place for the holiday. Last run we did the bumps were bigger then expected. Her and I both got the CARV gen 2 on their Black Friday sale. I have only used it 2 days but love all the info and stats it provides. 4th ski day wearing my mesh base layer and can confirm its awesomeness for keeping you dry. Would not make a habit out of the long drive to ski, but it was great to not ski alone. No snow in the forecast which is a bummer.3 points

I hope you always put the bar down that’s a heck of a cliff…no footrests on that one but I don’t mind a little dangle unless the winds get crazy1 point

I like to set it on ski IQ and tips, so it gives you a good beep or bad beep after each turn. And then when you stop for 10 seconds or so, it gives you your ski IQ for that run. No bumps at blue yet. Still probably most useful on groomers, and also on easier groomers I get the highest scores. But it’s hard to get into the Zen headspace when it’s on.1 point

There is a lot to dial in. Still figuring out all the features. But so far it has not identified when I am skiing bumps. It always says terrain is groomed. I think it is pretty cool it knows what resort you are skiing and even the individual runs. My friend tried the active coach yesterday but she found it distracting after a while so just took out her ear bud. Seems like a good tool.1 point

Been using the Carv since the middle of last season and love it. The new sensors are much better and the user interface is much more intuitive. I use active coach about half the time and just the Ski IQ callout after each section with chairlift review the other half so I can listen to my tunes. Really helped my skiing. Only skiing groomers at Blue, so would be interesting to know how the new off piste coaching is.1 point
