Ok, enough of this topic already.

This is actually a good question... It was a blast when we got to do it at the group leader's picnic, any way we can get pre-approval for some PASR grass skiing at this event?
-
Wow really? What were you doing when they broke? You just put them down and they snapped?? That's pretty crazy... </sarcasm> Just wanted to make a useless post, seems like it's all the rage.
-
Hmm... I guess I'd better check/clean mine... didn't do anything special to prep it at the end of the season... may be in for some nastiness...
-
Good question.. splitting this thread, sending it to Site Talk.

Thanks for the info and everything guys, keeping them honest is good for us! As far as being defensive, it seems like every day we have people coming here from one forum or another posting badness about the things we love to do, so I hope you can see how some of us can get a little defensive at times, even if your comment wasn't intended as a bash (I didn't take it as one). Bottom line, we all ski. Let's do it wherever we can and enjoy it while it's fluffy!

Greg, We had this Discussion back in March as well... Didn't get much of any info but hey, there doesn't seem to be much out there.
-
Well... the site is definitely a ton better than it was! A step in the right direction.

Glenn's been programming a lot lately, and has been known to post random thoughts wherever they may end up, please disregard . Back in your cage now! And, Welcome Luke!

Just hold onto the stub they give you and it's very easy to get a new ticket...

Free lift tic from MC with $25. donation
ThinkSnow replied to mtnbiker99x's topic in Other Mountains
Wow, that's great, I'm glad someone is doing something to get people to help out. I've donated through the red cross already, but hopefully a little incentive will get people to help out their neighbors. -
FedEx is bad, go with the good guys! (I need my stock up a bit)

5 days is faster than most carriers cross-country... lay down the cash and get next day shipping, moneybags!

I don't think "Big Brown" would treat you like that! Where you live, they'd leave em on your doorstep!

Any doctors in the room? Oh... wait...

I mean, I'm not saying the site has to be kick ass with all kind of bells and whistles, but I think in a lot of cases it's like having a store that sells great stuff, but it's located in the basement of a crack-house. I just think presentation really goes a long way to turn people on to whatever it is you're doing.

Wow.. just looked at that site for the first time. That is the site of a large ski organization? I can't believe it looks like the site was written in 1985, and no web-savvy volunteer has helped them out.
-
Actually... I thought the same exact thing when I first saw it...
-
Wow, thanks for the great info... It's something I've wanted to try myself but have been a bit scared of... Maybe I'll give it a shot this season.

I got rid of the last post from each Gary and Ski999. They had no use other than to fight with each other. Civil discussion is fine, I don't give a crap if you like each other, or agree with anything any other one does. But please, when you are here treat the readers with enough respect to not make them read garbage. This message is directed at both of you, please stop bringing personal and/or private arguments here. I understand there are some issues between the two of you, but it doesn't need to be aired here. Thanks for understanding

Ski999, thanks for your opinion. However, There are some people who may actually want to check out Gary's ideas for themselves rather than taking your word for it, so they can form their own opinion of it. I understand where your issues are coming from, but I think everyone knows your opinion on this subject quite well enough at this point. Anything that gets people excited about the snow is a good thing. I don't think I've seen Gary say "this is the way to win FIS races!" (correct me if I'm wrong). I think this is just another way of getting people excited about racing, and isn't that always a good thing? I know when I was in little league, I had several different coaches teach me several different ways to swing a bat, and in the end I found the way that worked best for me and that's what I used. Let's not limit other people's chance at enjoying the snow by immediately throwing insults Gary's way. I can't tell you that he isn't taking people's money for nothing... but I'm not going to assume he is because I don't like what he teaches, especially before actually enrolling in a lesson myself.

Well, Mark (the GM over there) is a real nice guy, and told us it was ok... I will be sending him those pictures for use on their site!

Well, today was the Group leader's picnic at Bear Creek, which allowed us to meet the management and talk to them about the upcoming year, as well as talk up PASR a bit and spread the word.... That was all great, it was wonderful meeting the people there and talking skiing again, but the best thing was at the end we got a couple runs in on the grass! While I was on my way down I met another PA skier who happened to be taking pictures and was nice enough to email them to me (Thanks, Pat!). Gearing up Me, Ridge, Steeze, and PapaSteeze coming Down Me and Steeze Me

Thanks for clarifying your original post! That was much more useful to me then "dumbest shit..." I think that's all Glenn was saying.
