I haven't been to shawnee, but haven't heard anything good about it that would make me want to check it out. It looks like they are following suit though with everyone in the poconos and realize that you can have a crappy mountain and a badass park.

Agreed! and their fries are pretty darn good too (although I'm told the food is much better at the top lodge than the bottom).

Looks like Bob has found another site to host his pics on for nastar. This thread is done.

He signed up in march, and has posted twice, both with random pictures. Yes, he is on the nastar boards under the same name. Reading his posts on that board, he seems knowledgeable, but he is not trying to participate here.

Sure, you're allowed to discuss whatever you want, but this post was unsolicited and not an attempt to participate in discussion here on this board. My guess is this guy will not even come back to this board until he needs more pics hosted.

Funny how I can see the thread that he would have posted these for on the nastar boards... talking about good form and all. He hasn't hotlinked to the images on that board, so I'm going to leave them up... Bob, please don't do this, as it takes resources away from people who actually use this board. We are not a photo hosting site. If you want one of them I'm sure you can find hundreds out there for you. This thread has absolutely no value to this board, nor did you intend it to. Wow, that is pretty a pretty F'd up statement for him to make... While I don't see much value in giving a kid everything they want, I do believe that sports is an area where the kid should have everything they need, he just happened to choose an expensive sport. I highly doubt we'll see skidude driving around in his new mercedes (when he gets his license), while wearing his designer outfits and drinking cristal.... that would be overpriveledged. A kid needs to have the equipment to allow them to excel at whatever sport they may be playing. As long as his grades are good and he's not getting into trouble, I think it's earned. So you go ahead skidude and skimom, tear it up!

If it actually did something functionally, it may be cool... but it seems pretty useless...

I wasn't really aiming that first comment at you, but at NITRO_RIDER, he said that. And I don't think I will be... although if I am that probably means my ability level has increased to the point where I'd like it to be. Yes, booze and chicks, but it has to be in the snow... find a warm place...

Dood... she really was small.... Anyway, the whole "freeriding is boring" comment is just silly. Everyone has a preference, and most new skiers/riders are looking for trails, not parks (this is the market CB is going for). I like to hit the parks every now and again, when I'm trying to break an arm (atomic and ski999 will get that one), but overall I stay on the trails doing the "boring" freeriding. Like skidude said, it comes down to preference and doing what you like. As long as you're having fun on the snow it doesn't matter... And yes, that does include Ski999's extra curricular activities after skiing.

Chris, There is no set date yet, but we're looking toward the end of september so we can get a nice ramp-up into the season. The site is pretty much done now, we're just waiting on a few things and trying to time things right. Thanks for the inclusion in the list!
