Jeff's jet can surely hold a few extra people. I'm coming too.

Parts of it are actually thoughtful. He even almost sounded humble for a second...

MetzyBoy: How are you feeling? Have you recovered from your toboggan ride yet?
-
Iceman has been. There are minimal, if any, lines. He said there is some pitch to the runs. Lifts are on the slow side. We have some passes, but I am not sure they are transferable. I can check if you really want to try it.

You guys are too funny. I'll see you all there, if I don't bust a gut laughing in the meantime...
-
You guys are breaking my heart, cancelling NASTAR two weeks in a row. I know you would NEVER cancel unless it was completely hopeless. But, still, it's too tough to Bear.
-
No biggie? You're taking away his freedom of choice.
-
Visit the Siblet and do NASTAR wherever she skis.
-
Good work, MetzyBoy - you'll be faster for it! Give yourself a big pat on the back!
-
Adam's already beaten everyone on the list. That's why his name isn't on it.

I agree, it is often the first to get icy.

I demoed the atomic C9 - the girlie version. They were effortless to turn, and tons of fun. Tommy's Mom uses them too, and she's a low intermediate, timid, bunny type. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat for nonaggressive female skiers. I'd have bought a pair myself, but they are slow on a race course and didn't quite perform to my liking in tough conditions. I tried 160s. If she's petite, 130 might do, but think about a little longer. If my mom were skiing, that's what I'd buy her (skigrandmom).

You aren't fast enough to qualify.

It's a good time to quit cigs, Metzy. They aren't healthy, and they will make you get short of breath more easily. Hey, if I'm around too, I'll take a run for fun. But, I'm not up to seriously racing any of you hulking 18 year-olds unless the age/gender adjustment is made.

Good idea, lineski - swipe the poor kids equipment for his own good. I guess Shadows will need to get new poles anyway...

Pops, Bode just doesn't seem to be able to hang on to his turns as well this year. It's not like he's bombed every race, but he seems off more often than on. Wouldn't you love to see him hanging on a bit more often? Who knows, he's good at bouncing back, so maybe he will again...
-
I have no idea if drinking is currently impacting his performance, but in my only direct interaction with Bode, he skied down his run and straight into the bar when pacesetting at the NASTAR Nationals a couple winters ago. Then he was so intoxicated during the autograph session he could just about sit up and sign. It's just not good for a role model to be slobbering drunk. And it's just plain dumb to race while intoxicated (i.e. drink heavily the night before). I hope he gets his act together and turns back into the awesome athlete who hangs on thru those wild turns.

From what I've heard, it sounds like 6 weeks out, minimum. His Mum said his doc does not want him skiing again this winter, so he's probably out for the duration. When people go back AMA, they often get away with it in the short term, but pay the price down the road with chronic pain and/or disability (weakness). So if you like Shadows, encourage him to stick to what his doc says.
-
Why should he have to stipulate all of these specifics? This is the showdown at the OK corral...all you need is the time/date. The place has been determined. And, we will be watching.

Doug, we all thought of you when ski999 did this. You could really excel ...

They used to have an hourly shuttle taking skiers from the garbage area to the lodge. Since homeowners need to drive and park in the garbage area, and the shuttle only made one trip an hour, it was worse than useless. Iceman forgot his pass one day, and it took him two hours to get it. They stopped the shuttle since it was underutilized... hmmm, I wonder why?

Atomic and Freak, are you talking about a radar detector or a radar gun?
-
e-bay? If we all pitched in a few dollars, PASR could get one of it's own - think of how much fun we could have with it.
-
ASRA has use of SWIX radar gun for racers who want to see how fast they can beeline. Of the PASR folks, ski999 is the only one who dared to test the system. He was clocked in at a blistering 53 mph. 53 mph! Way to go 999...
