  1. Snow quality: CB Lodging: Probably CB Entertainment.... Take your pick Restaurants.... Take your pick CB is cleaner ... But, if you go to Blue, you might be able to hook up with Atomic.
  2. Hope you are feeling better soon.
  3. It had gates, but they were close to one below the other. The racer didn't have to turn sharply to get around them.
  4. Time to check your dins. Sounds like you were lucky. Are you starting to improve yet? I'd like to qualify too, since I'll likely be going to Loon with 'dude if he doesn't have a more important race or trip that day. But a trip to NE for one straight run to qualify still seems like too much. Maybe if there was a second race somewhere... Is the 999let or the Larick squad going to Loon?
  5. I don't know the slowest time - the results are not posted yet. But there are fast racers and also ridiculously slow ones. I wish I could have skied in it too - it would be worth traveling to another Pocono resort to enter. I don't think I'd go as far as to New England. It's almost straight - 22 seconds is CB's straight line time down raceway. 23 seconds means about one real turn. Metzy boy - what happened to you? Are you okay?
  6. Congrats to 'dude who won CB's Mountain Dew challenge with a blistering time of about 23 seconds down Raceway. I'm thinking Ridge and Pops won their age groups too. Anyone else from here enter the race?
  7. 'dude said the same thing. I'm thinking that any ski day is better than a nonski day...right?
  8. No problem, we will drive her up if you are unavailable. Maybe we can get the 'dude qualified. Any other qualifying races around here? Ummm...Mountain Dew...

    head count?

If Ty can race at two challenges, go for it... There were no lines at CB Sun and Mon. I can't get thru to the 'dude to see how the lines were today - we have a day pass the mumlets didn't use when they were up over X-Mas so there isn't much to lose.
  10. And, congrats to Ty for her first nonNASTAR medal - any pics of her with it on???
  11. Skiing in rain is the best. No lift lines, ever. Also, the groomed snow stays nice, since there is less volume.
  12. In Pops defense, I watched the CB CATS training this morning and thought they were standing around a lot. I'd have been bored too. The snow was great - who wants to stand around politely listening... Let's hope they dial it up soon. I think CB does a good job, and Skidude's handicaps improved dramatically since he joined the team. He just finished his first USSA races of the season, and did OK, but didn't help his points. He thought it was because he hadn't had any practice in the gates. It likely related to a lack of intense fitness/dryland training too. The kids who the race helped went away to ski camps to train and/or they were super fit. Pops, you aren't married to CB. Send your kids outside the program to supplement their training if your goals are ambitious. Meanwhile, Gus et al are fine coaches, and the Poplets will benefit from the program - it will give them opportunity to make friends with other fast kids their ages, and the skills will help them in the gates.
  13. The Mountain dew race is Wednesday. Why not try that one? It's free, which is even better. Maybe next weekend for NASTAR, if the snow doesn't get too heavy from the late week rain.
  14. Hmmm, Friday nights would be awesome.
  15. VTMark - Congrats on being the first PASR member to do NASTAR this season!
  16. It prob depends on the structure of your radiator and it's cover. I wouldn't leave the shell directly on a hot radiator for too long. We usually use the plug in dryers from when we get off the slopes until when we go to bed.
  17. Agree with everything, ecxept about the intermediate runs - where are they? Everything I've encountered is like skiing down a cliff. Look out for the great gulf too. It is accessed later than TR, and is also awesome. It's harder because you ski, then hike. At TR, you hike first, so you have some ability to know what you will be in for. The hike up in the gulf can be tough - crampons, etc. I've only been there in the summer, but it's worth going, just to see it.
  18. It's official. - the results are up. I don't see any of us on the list... 'Freak. BCs NASTAR is the most fun, ever.
  19. A variety of reasons mostly relating to weather. It's nasty up there at this time of year. Later in the winter the Avi danger is often high. In April, the hike up is relatively safe, and the snow is corn. You can ski all the way down in March or early April too. Last time we went the ground weather was fine, and there was a big high over New England. As we climbed, we met winds of 90 mph and we couldn't get past the tree line. And that was in April - so there is never a guarantee... Remember, you hike up Mt washington carrying 40 or so pounds, including your skis and boots.

Keep us posted, Sibby. She has a big fan club here.
  21. http://www.timefortuckerman.com I've gone a couple times with the 'dude. DMC has gone lots - he's a real TR expert. No one goes at this time of year...it's March-May stuff mostly, if you want to ski.

Siblet has it all - brains, beauty, nice and she's fanatical about skiing/racing. Her edge angle would make you stop in awe.
  23. RT has a nice NASTAR course, but they are hours in the wrong direction. BC is close, easy and fun. Plus, they have Club Night one of their NASTAR nights (at least they did last year). Hope to see you there one of these Wednesdays, 'Freak!
  24. Trust BC to be the first ones doing NASTAR! First and foremost - in PA anyway.
  25. Hey, no "dis" comments about the hill in Mr. Brantling's back yard.
