agreed. lame.

dude why does them having a decent website make them look like a joke? jason's in school for web design or something of the sort. i would sure hope he can make a decent website. they're a bunch of friends who ride together, most of them are pretty good, and they are fun to ride with. jason did those kids a favor and hosted the video for them. big deal, let it go. and seriously, what are the wildcats, besides a predatory feline? i don't snowboard so i'm not entirely up on who's who in the industry besides videos i see at work.

So I returned the spaceframes and bought something else

this is true. she was out of the game for a while with a baking injury. -
whats the wildcats? and what do you mean by a serious team? if you've ever skied with any of them, you'd know that they're probably the least serious bunch out there. they're just out riding, having fun, and causing mayhem. they have a website that happens to look pretty nice; i dont see what the problem is.

they plowed them?! they were absolutely amazing tuesday! honestly on par with stuff i've skied up north or out west. lame...

not to be a pessimist or anything, but my mom partially tore her mcl skiing last year and was out for the rest of the season, but she needed surgery, so maybe hers was worse than yours is. either way, she did a ton of rehab and was back 100% for this season and is skiing harder than she ever has. -
no, all we cared about was that any time someone else posts a video, you rip it to shit because their colors are bad. sucks taking the heat, doesnt it?
-
but doesnt he go to school with you? that doesnt count.
-
if you are doubting the credibility of these kids who run a serious website, check out some of their other edits... http://www.roundtopriders.com/PHP/loadVide...mp;isPromo=true or http://www.roundtopriders.com/PHP/loadVide...mp;isPromo=true for example. as far as i know, jason, who made the site, is being nice and hosting the vid for them. cut them a break.

good job guys! despite it being rediculously cold last night, it was a lot of fun, and overall, i think everything went pretty smoothly, except for that kid that got impaled by the up box. did he break anything or what?
-
thrusters are not the same as the old 1080. thrusters have no wood in them, therefore they are softer initially, and also break down quicker. not saying thats a bad thing, because i really like them as a park ski too. phillycore, stay away from 4frnt. i snapped a pair just skiing. no hitting jumps, no sliding rails, nothing. plus, why pay 550 or so for the 4frnts when you can get a much better ski (the karma) for the same price or less (the PE for 429). the 4frnts ski decently, but wont ski anything like what you are used to. they dont turn quickly at all, and take a lot of force to get them to turn. the PE or karma is a much easier ski to ski, even in a longer length, and k2 and volkl are both super easy to deal with for warrenties, should the issue arise, where 4frnt had been nothing but headaches for me. if you're still feeling the smaller companies (like icelantic), check out line as well. the prophet 80 or 90, or maybe even the 100 might suit what you are looking for.

can you guys regrade that landing so its not as much of a drop down to the landing, giving you more landing to work with? edit: i mean the landing for the jump. its kinda short. the rail setup up top is sick though.
-
totally off topic from the discussion about the setup but, anyone who was there and heard the modest mouse remix the dj had, any idea who made it or where i could find it? i've been looking online and cant find it anywhere

dude, he farted, and it stunk. fogged up the windows and whatnot. as far as this whole entitlement BS... have you ever skied at blue? they have three parks this year and have continually dumped tons of money into improving those parks. just a few years ago, all they had was the little flat run at the bottom of the mountain: one jump, a flat box, a hand rail, and a mailbox. now there are three trails devoted to park riding, and what is probably the best pipe in the area right now. is blue lacking everywhere else? hardly. the two double blacks, razors edge and challenge, are both longer and more difficult than anything i've skied at camelback. paradise and lazy mile are both really long, excellent cruising runs. switchback is steep enough to carry a decent amount of speed, and the banked turns make it a lot of fun. mainstreet is comparable in pitch to a lot of stuff at camelback, but its longer, and the top 2/3 has some really nice bumps built up on the right half of the trail right now. there are also four school hills, each with their own lift. please explain to me how blue is not committed to other aspects of skiing and riding as well as the terrain park?

if you're interested in a twin tip, either the k2 public enemy or volkl karma are going to be your best bets. they're both pretty burly flex-wise to handle somebody your size, but still easy to ski. go with the karmas in a 177 or the k2s in a 179, or if you are really hesitant about that long a ski, the PE comes in a 174, but i still think thats a bit short for you. longer skis give you stability at speed, as well as more edge to distribute your weight over when you are making a turn. go from a pair of snowblades to a pair of appropriately sized skis, and then honestly say that you cant notice a difference between the two. i wouldnt believe you if thats what you told me.

dont knock the bus til you've hit it. the fact that the rail is built on top of a bus really doesnt factor into it whatsoever. its just a big gap up onto a nice flatstock rail with a big gap off. its just intimidating cause there is a bus sitting under it.
-
yeah how tall are you and how much do you weigh? i'm 6' 160 pounds and i wouldnt think of putting someone my size on anything but the 181 1080, which the 420 doesnt come in that size i dont think. those things are gonna be washout city.
-
system of a down playing during my second hit killed me man. you just cant ride to that shit.
-
problem 4 - stay out of the park with rentals. if the tip protector keeps flying off, you're obviously doing something wrong.
-
they're fine as a jib ski for about two weeks. its definately not the same ski as the old 1080. extruded base instead of sintered, which means easier to fix, but it doesnt hold wax well and its much slower, and they use a different core as well. while the 1080 was a wood/foam core, the 420 is all foam, and much softer than the 1080 to begin with. once the foam breaks down, you'll be able to flex that ski in a full 360 circle. plus, salomon's edges werent very good back then, so if you're into rails, expect your edges to fall out, which will soften up the ski even faster cause once the edge is gone, water can leak into the core. i guess they arent terrible for what you paid though, just dont expect too much from them. sports authority is the last place i would by ski gear.

I HATE THE STEPS IN FRONT OF THE PARK
Justo8484 replied to yardsaleclothing's topic in Blue Mountain
we spent about 20 minutes doing that yesterday. as far as the park right now, i agree with trev, the top section is sick. once the butter boxes are gone, the only other thing i would change is the lip onto the double barrel, just give it a little less kick to it. the jump on the first corner is kind of a waste there, you could set up a rail there or something that doesnt require as much speed which would make that whole turn rut out and get icy. the second stepdown is nice when the landing isnt icy, which leads into the bus or table, which are both fun, although the transition on the table was a little flat yesterday. swingset is really fun, and the flat down flat is set up well too, as is the wall. the c isnt bad, and the hip thinger is actually pretty fun when its not ice too. the crackerbarrel is a waste, as everyone knows, and so is that retarded s box. last jump is playing mind games with me right now cause my ski came off for no reason on the outrun and the same thing happened to a few of my friends. sidewinder would be 10x better than it is now if they actually made nice snow on it that didnt ice up by noon every day. as for the sunday river guy, search newschoolers or youtube or something for video from the sunday river heat harvest. if the guy can create that, obviously he knows what he's doing, he's just being forced to make shitty rails by management i guess? from what i saw of him working on the pipe yesterday, it already looks ten times better than it ever has and i am really excited to ride it. anyone know when its opening? -
exactly. i am 160 and super lanky and i generally have to tuck into them to clear them cause i have too much wind resistance for how light i am, it kinda sucks.
-
yeah i thought the landings were alright last time i was there. you gotta come into the stuff super fast though. honestly, you might not be heavy enough to carry your speed for them....
