  1. yeah dumont got robbed i thought. tanner's 2nd run should have been enough to take it til he clipped the deck on the flatspin. obviously, thats not perfection, and at that level, it should take a perfect run to win, considering what some of the other athletes did in their runs.
  2. so i dont understand whats so terrible about posting who won a race in the title of the thread? if somebody had posted in the park and pipe forum that tanner hall won x games pipe (even though he shouldnt have) and i saw that, i dont see why its a problem?
  3. yo he just did a switch 7 little girl bonk. i hear a little girl is the next exciting feature they're putting on sidewinder...
  4. so you're a little late on this one. keith already announced it with details in another post. kill this thread please.
  5. how does it kill you that we say its about safety? just this weekend, i was helping out some kids work on learning some new stuff. one of the kids finally worked himself up to trying a 5. he spun the 5 but landed nose heavy and double ejected. he got up from the fall no problem, but as soon as he was on his feet, a snowboarder hit the jump and fell, tumbled into him and took him down, and hit him in the face with his board's edge. the kid was bleeding profusely all over the place. the snowboarder got up and rode away without even checking to see if the kid was alright. sure, it would be nice to have the park empty for me and my friends to ride, but if the story i just typed doesnt sound like a safety issue to you, then you're probably retarded. stuff like that happens up there every day. the same day, i almost hit two kids from the race team because their coach decided it was a good idea to practice turns on the landing of a jump, after they already closed off razors for practice. the ignorance of people up there is just mind boggling.
  6. the c is all about just creeping into the thing and staying to the inside, its not that bad once you get your speed dialed. the s however, i am pretty convinced its really not possible.
  7. not necesarily encouraging, but not saying, "you cant ride this trail unless you pay more money or watch a video first." there are plenty of double standards up there, such as the race team practicing on sidewinder, sitting on landings, harrassing us to hit stuff when they won't touch anything, when they already have razors closed off for race practice. if the race teams can close off razors to practice, why cant freeriders (skiers and boarders) close off one of the parks for their practice?
  8. maybe they've already gone through their options and it was decided that building the stairs into the park was the best and most feasible option for all parties involved. how bout we all just come to the realization that there are a lot of people that shouldnt be in the park, and if you want to ride sidewinder, stop bitching, take your skis/board off (of both feet) and walk up the stairs as they were intended to be used. do you walk up the stairs of ski school with your skis on? i dont think so; don't do it to get into sidewinder either.
  9. the park pass thing has been discussed so many times before. what i've been told is that management doesnt want anyone to have to buy an extra pass or have to do anything extra to have access to a trail. they paid for their lift ticket, they should be able to ride what they want, and with the stairs, they can. you just have to take your gear off to get up them. no one is stopping you from coming into the park at all (unless i see you trying to duck walk up the stairs with your skis on.) the idea, as was said before, is that for the people who arent really interested in sidewinder in particular, whether it be for actually hitting the features or otherwise, will get annoyed by having to take their gear off and walk up the steps. if you want to be in the park whether you are hitting features or safely watching from the sides, you'll take the extra thirty seconds to take your gear off so those of us waiting our turns to drop can have a clear shot at at least one or two features before we get cut off. anyone i saw trying to walk up with their gear on, i didnt hesitate to tell them why they were causing a problem. by not taking your skis off, you block everyone behind you trying to get up the steps, and also pack the snow onto the steps, ultimately making them icier. if you cant understand why something was needed to at least slow down the flow of people entering the park, then you obviously dont ride it that often and dont know how big of an issue crowd control was last year.
  10. i went up this morning and i thought everything was actually pretty good. the hip is actually pretty fun because you can hit it about three or four different ways. the bus is set up really well, as is the swingset, as long as you sack up and go for them. you need speed to hit either of them. most everything was set up nicely, although the last jump could use a little more kick to the lip to match the landing, and the landing could be a little longer. maybe turn it into a step up-and-over kinda deal so it has a longer landing to work with? props to park crew for fixing everything up really nice this morning after the snow cat left it in shambles.
  11. so i just have a quick question. would any of the employees from boulder's park crew/judging staff be able to explain to me how i scored 0 points for the feature marked J2 on the scoresheet at the z games last night? i'm really confused as to how that happened, because i'm pretty sure i actually did a trick on every feature and didnt fall either run.
  12. soooooo who's brilliant idea is it to raffle off the prizes that should go to the winners of a competition? i love it when 9 year old female snowboarders win a pair of public enemies. give the prizes to the people who sacked up and went balls out to win, not the poeple who won by default because there were only two people in their age group and got lucky in a damn raffle.
  13. and i hate both of you for communicating via messageboard when nothing more than 2 inches of drywall is seperating you right now. as far as sidewinder goes.... you've got some good, bad, and ugly. the rail options up top are all pretty fun, but one question? why is the butter box stuck between the rails and the staircase up top? thats really not safe, at all. i didnt hit all the jumps because i did skiercross today, but the first two stepdowns i liked as far as medium sized hits go, i didnt hit the table off to the right or the wierd hip thing, but that actually looks like it could be fun if you get the angle and speed dialed. the bus, i didnt hit, but doesnt look nearly as scary as i thought it was going to be. the swingset is huge, and i didnt hit that yet either. the down flat down is a nice rail, but the setup is crap. keith if you read this, please set it up exactly how it was last year, it was perfect; low to the ground with a nice long mellow wedge in front of it. that rail doesnt work well urban style at all. the wallride is about as good as it can be i guess, they need to get a better transition on that thing somehow. the c box was set up well but would be much nicer if they used round coping instead of that crappy square stuff that bites into your edges if you get off balance. the crackerbarrel is still the biggest waste of plastic and steel ever, the last jump is not bad but the landing is a little short, and the s box should be thrown in the burn pile along with the crackerbarrel, and that is my opinion on the park right now. overall, its pretty fun. i just with there were more normal rails and less stupid crap that 1% of everyone who rides that park can clean.

    Under Armour

jib knows whats up. we sell under armor, capilene, and polarmax at work, and in all honesty, the only reason we carry under armor is because of the name. polarmax works just as well for half the price, and capilene is definitely the nicest stuff out for about the same price as under armor, and all of the capilene stuff is super environmentally friendly. for the most part as long as you stay away from cotton you're golden.
  15. if that is in order... did they move the bus? because putting the swingset and two tables between the bus and the wallride would be rather cramped to say the least.
  16. thats the sliding board box, and you have it backwards. it goes steep up, short flat, mellow down, to really short flat at the end. it looks retarded.
  17. amen. boxes are good for learning how to slide real rails, so since there are already plenty of boxes, lets see some real rails. i know there were a few sitting at the top of sidewinder.
  18. don't hold back thursday night. my guess is it wont open til around noon, thats when blue usually gets their parks open for the first time.
  19. dude no one said anything about fisheyes or followcams. my friends and i shot with a fisheye all day last tuesday to try it out and i hated pretty much every shot. i think it works on rails alright, but i hate the look of it for hits because of how it distorts everything. also, knowing about cameras and knowing how to use them are two very different skill sets. i know how to drive a car, but god forbid i have to do any work on one besides installing some new speakers or putting in some oil. i'm not holding you up on any sort of pedestal and getting a funny feeling in my pants when you post an edit, so i wasnt really expecting any high-budget production job, but when you talk up yourself and your camera that cost as much as my old car, and talk down on any edit anyone else does (my "fixing your colors" comment was taken from what you said to wezlo about his boulder edit) then you should be able to take some heat.
  20. largest in what way? boulder has huge features and essentially the whole mountain is going to be a park, and sidewinder at blue is massive as a trail that is most likely going to have some big stuff set up on it. but i guess if ryan neptune is building their park, it will surely be impressive... and nick, maybe you could fix your colors on your camera...? oh, and shots of people half cleaning a feature arent cool.
  21. yes. using fiberlene makes it easier.
  22. i've found boulder using my roommate's gps software on his comp when we were driving there, but has anyone else noticed that frost is just completely off the map? i couldnt find it on the gps at all, and the thing was updated like last week.
  23. if what tretiak said is true (i dont believe very much that ski patrol says either) and it was caused by people poaching that trail, all i have to say is, steve, there's gonna be a high price for your head if sidewinder sucks for the rest of the season cause of shitty snow. be forewarned.
