pops, they wont fit you. i could safely bet my life's earnings on that, and not lose. the boot is made super wide, because i guess salomon feels that a wider boot lets your toes spread out, thus giving you better balance. however, some of us dont like it when our foot slides around inside a boot like we're standing in a tub of jello. i havent tried them on yet, but from looking at catalogs and spec sheets, its at least as wide as the 1080 boot, if not a little wider. i'm not anticipating great all mountain skiability since they use a super cushiony liner in them, and there is next to no forward resistance when they are flexed due to the super absorbant and soft tongue. i'm imagining the flex to be similar to wearing a basketball sneaker with one of those atheletec plastic ankle braces, but with a rigid sole attached. hopefully i can try them on this weekend.

not sure if anyone else noticed it or not, but blue updated their trail map. although it looks like they just took an eraser to it to white out more trail real estate, sidewinder is considerably wider, and their is a look at what the new trail will look like once its done as well. anyone know if they will be launching an entirely new website for this season again? the current one is kinda iffy.

good god people would die. i think they need to figure out the whole quarterpipe thing first though, as sick as that would be. on the park pass note, boulder's got it right with the no rental policy in their advanced park. never once when i was there last year was that park crowder with people who didnt know what they are doing, because guess what? the majority of the idiots in the park are on rental equipment, or at least someone in their group is. that would alleviate a huge amount of the problem.

Sucks when someone does something stupid in the park!

amen. when we were in whistler last year, we skied park for a total about about 8 hours out of 4 days, and thats because the snow elsewhere crusted over or the visibility up top was super bad. same deal with steamboat when i was out there. we spent about a day and a half out of seven in the park. when there are cliffs, cornices, pillow lines, and trees to be skied, parks are a waste of time. unfortunately, parks and race courses are all we have here in PA. -
the problem with ski patrollers in the park is that half the time, they are no better than your average twice a year skier. they dont know part etiquette either. two patrollers in particular up at blue, who are parents of a fellow freeskier, are very involved in the park up there, and i've seen them take laps through the park on many occasions, but two out of a hundred or so is not enough. i'm pretty sure i posted it on here last year when it happened, but one of my friends hit a patroller standing in the landing area of the staircase, when we had given him several minutes to clean up his mess. he then told us that he was standing there because he didnt know what he was supposed to do. that is the root of the problem. everyone up there, from instructors to patrollers needs to be better educated as to how to handle yourself and others in the park. its an entirely different element than the rest of the hill.

the blue forum is dead, so i'm bringin this back. anyone been up there lately to see the progress on the 6 pack/sidewinder/lodge, etc?

thats what has been done at blue in the past, and it always ends up being worn down to something far worse than a combination of the two. it turns into a ride on lip, but the lip is actually below the box/rail. they started doing gap ons last year, and the rails that were set up like that never got trashed. thats sick that boulder finally gets some people who know what they are doing in the park. maybe they can have their slopestyle prelims on a real course now? -
i'll be at park city and the canyons for a week in march. i'm hitting you up for locations of some bc booters before i go out there; i'm lazy and dont feel like building my own since i only have a week out there.
-
just curious, why is thread under blue mountain?
-
do you even ride at blue? cause if you did, you'd know that we actually do stuff on those jumps. i've posted video proof of it before too, if you dont believe me.
-
boy are you in for a surprise. stepped up more than blue ever will, ha. oh, and some of us do hit those jumps, by the way, and they're pretty fun.
-
except the now-defunct line binding, because it could heel release laterally. well, it obviously wont totally eliminate ACL tears, but the way they released would greatly reduce strain on your knees. unfortunately, they were heavy, not durable, and had no industry backing.

Who wants to know what new stuff is comin... for real

yeah, please pass on the teeter totter rail. 90% of the people who hit thing thing would 50-50 half of it and claim it likes its the sickest trick thrown down this side of the mississippi. can we get the old downkink back, perhaps? that rail is actually fun. oh, and melt down that sad excuse for a rollercoaster, or set it up correctly so its not a death trap please. -
just get your bindings checked out at a shop, they'll set everything correctly for you.
-
plus they dont have the invaders in there. what lame-o's.
-
anybody else see the new freeskier yet? is it me, or are their descriptions of a lot of skis way way off? apparently to them, anything under and 85 waist should never leave the park. i guess that makes sense if you only ski out west, but they didnt really give the skis a fair test by not testing anything back east at all. they're also pushing 15 to 18 DIN bindings to kids who definately dont need them.

I have a copy of session 1242 and Salomon's Adrenaline Hunters, bot for sale, both brand new. I figured I'd let everyone on here know before i went the ebay route. 1242 is all skiing; its the oakley team video from like two or three years ago. adrenaline hunters has skiing and snowboarding, including big mountain, park, skiercross, etc. its got a little bit of something for everyone. If anyone wants either of these, make me an offer.

find me a hucked trick in that video besides my cab 5 (that was my first try, by the way). the cab 7 was grabbed the whole way through the rotation, too. besides killing it in the park, there's something to be said for being actually being able to ski elsewhere, including groomers, trees, powder, etc. that park footage is from only about 5 hours of skiing out of our entire trip, most of which was spent dropping cornices, skiing chutes, trees, and other stuff you dont get to ski around here.

thanks for the kind words. the second one could have been edited a lot better than what i did, but i got lazy halfway through and kinda stopped caring, but whatever.
-
i meant, like their deals on stuff seem to be the same for all three sales. we used to have two used equip. sales too, so people could lower the price for the second one if it didnt sell in the first one.

and kevin is the brown/tan coat with white pants.
