  1. ...and i'm a moron. its hosted on putfile, not youtube. maybe thats my problem, i'll try youtube this time.
  2. i threw a spread in there for ya doug. its in the second video, i have no idea why it doesnt work for most people but does for others. anyone have any experience with youtube that could help me out? and nick, kevin has more style in his busted ski boots than i've seen out of you.
  3. maybe i read that wrong, but it looks like they are having the same sale, but at three different times?
  4. so i finally got motivated enough last night to sort through our second tape of footage from whistler, so i present you with two edits, the first done my by my brother who actually took time to edit it, the second done by me, in about 15 minutes. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6840721878441066763 http://media.putfile.com/Whistler-Edit enjoy!
  5. please pleas please DO NOT make it like boulder's rail on the station wagon. that thing sucked, horribly. it was too steep, and you came off the thing mach 3 into a flat landing. why not use the battleship rail or that old a frame that never made it into the park last year? either of those would be pretty fun. and putting a box on it would be pretty lame; that kinda takes away the scarieness factor.

    Ski Mania Sale

the sale is in qtown only. i think i remember seeing the orage corp stuff somewhere on the racks... as for skis, we have skis as low as 150 and bindings for less than 100 as well, so a 300 setup is pretty attainable.
  7. its kinda ghetto, but either sportrack or barrecrafters makes a window mount ski rack that will hold 2 pairs, you roll your window down, put the clamp part over the top of the window, roll them up, and then suction cup the bottom part on, and then their are rubber straps that hold the skis on. not nearly as secure as a roof mount though.
  8. you just gotta know where to look tretiak hahaha
  9. that's the biggest kick in the balls to whoever it is at the shop you go to to figure out what boot will work for you. getting a proper boot fit can take well over an hour, and then going home and buying the boot online when someone just spent an hour of their time, when they could have been helping other customers, is low. ultimately, is it even worth it to buy a boot online, if you have to pay shipping and get it tweaked for your foot? we'll be carrying the spk boot; unfortunately we didnt get any in stock yet. if you come in and end up getting them from us, you dont have to pay shipping, you get to try the boots on, and you wont have a hassle getting work done to them if any problems come up with the boot.
  10. army navy doesnt carry k2. we have some 179s in stock and everything will be on sale at the lowest price of the season starting august 17th.

    Ski Mania Sale

thanks for the add to the calendar. as for helmets, everything that's out is leftovers, except for the k2 stuff. most of the new helmets wont come in for a few weeks. we have giro, boeri, leedom, k2, and i think some R.E.D. stuff too. everything we carry is either snell or ansi approved. the snell stuff is held to a higher standard, but a lot of the stuff they test for, like how the helmet functions after being set on fire, doesnt really apply to skiing/boarding. functionally, there isnt really a difference between skiing or boarding helmets, just the market that the design caters to, or the riders the company sponsors. i'm not totally sure of the goggle stock, but i noted seeing a bunch of smith styles sitting around. we havent set a date for the used sale yet, as far as i know. its usually the end of september or early october though, so keep your eyes and ears out for that.
  12. my parents regularly ski that early. they are usually at the mountain by 9 and out before 1. no lift lines that early, so they get their runs in on uncrowded slopes before the school kids get there.

    Ski Mania Sale

just giving you all some more info about the sale... we have a wall of boots from past seasons all going for less than $200. all sorts of different stuff in there, from tecnica icons for the hardcore nastar crew to lange banshee 9's, which are a great all mtn/park boot. we also just got some new salomon stuff in, including the new foil boot, and the foil, thruster, flyer, and gun skis, with the spk boot on the way. we have tons out outerwear and snowboard equipment left over as well, but i cant vouch for specifics, since i only really know the ski shop inventory. p.s. - MODS - can i get this on the calendar? the sale starts the 17th and goes til the 20th.
  14. its a jib board. extruded bases are easier to fix and cheaper to make. helps them keep the cost down i guess?

    Ski Mania Sale

no, we dont, but if you look into it, you'll find that our prices are really not far off from what you could find online for the exact same product, and we'll give you better service than you can get from any website. if i'm correct, we should have some ski packages (skis, bindings, poles) going for less than 200, but don't hold me to that, as we havent set any prices in stone yet.

    Ski Mania Sale

it is the 17th in qtown. we're getting more and more stuff in every day. we just got a bunch of volkl, head, and k2 stuff yesterday, and nitro snowboards should be on the floor any day now. we're finally carrying the karma and mantra this year too. k2's new freeride line looks pretty nice as well. boards - Axis, Burton, K2, LTD, Ride, Rome, Salomon, nitro, and their might be one other company coming in but i dont remember who it was, i dont really work pipedream
  17. how so? everything i've seen or read doesnt really support that argument.
  18. definately check out the dna and obermeier, or orage if you can afford it. also, on the snowboard end of the outerwear game, sessions, ride, k2, volcom, and burton make some quality stuff, but some of them (mostly burton) also make some lower quality stuff too, so make sure to check the specs before you decide. like i said, siver's stuff looks nice and supports the freeride scene, but quality is sub par in my opinion. same deal with oakley. everyone i know who's had oakley stuff has had it either just fall apart on them or have it lose its waterproofing really fast. there's a hefty price for stuff that doesnt really hold up that well.
  19. transworld is the devil. they canned freeze for no apparent reason, and then had the balls to replace my freeze subscription with a tw snowboarding subscription. do they think that since freeze got canned, i dont ski and switched to snowboarding or what?
  20. yeah i dont get why siver charges so much for their stuff when, compared to companies like DNA, Sessions, Obermier, etc, its not really that good. I dont really know too much about Aeryx as far as quality goes, but i'm really not feeling it that much. maybe its just the models in those pictures, but the stuff doesnt look like it fits that well at all.

    Helmets

i have a 9 and its the comfiest helmet i've tried. like the red hifi^ you can get it with speakers in the ear flaps as well. the flaps are removable, and it has plenty of removable ventilation too. however, while it may be great for me, it might completely suck for you. the best helmet for you is the one that fits snugly and will stay on your head in the event of a crash. try on a few different models before selecting the one you want.
  22. good god thats a lot of terrain park real estate. keith, trevor, and the rest of park crew, you've got lots of room to play with this year.
  23. dorsey, IM me and keep reminding me. i have a crapload of footage of me, kev, and boyer from early season where the flat red rail got the royal treatment of pretty much every spin on, of, and switchup possible between the three of us. i think i have some stuff of the jump line as well.
  24. i agree with DH on this one. as sketchy as boulder's comps may be, their prize format isnt all too bad. each winner of each division gets some sort of decent prize, which gets better with the older divisions, like skis or a board, where the younger kids get a coat or new helmet or something. on top of that, all the winners are put into a hat and one is picked, who gets a snowmobile; i'm sure julia explained it to you. that way, everyone who wins their group still gets a solid prize, but there's something on top of that up for grabs too, in blue's case, it is the $1000. is that how its going to go down, or is there just medals for everyone, and one person gets $1000?
  25. just call up the ticket office and tell them you were travelling for a while or something when the due date was for the discounted passes and be super nice about it, they'll probably let it slide. most of the ladies in the ticket office are really nice.
