  1. i was with john when he was at killy earlier this year, and yeah, at that point, they didnt have a ton in the parks. wildfire, their biggest park, wasnt open. i am going up next week, like the 6th to the 12th or something, and will probably be hitting killington, okemo, and stratton. okemo's pipe is always immaculate, but killy's was pretty good earlier this season too. last year okemo's parks were ok, definately better than most around here, but not the best. mt snow's park last year was the best park i've ever ridden. everything flowed really well, and there was a ton of variety. and i am going to have to strongly disagree with transworld after yesterday, because creek's park sucked, bad.
  2. julia put down a sick run at bear last night, watch out ladies. the little asian girl(dont remember her name but she is tiny) 3'd the 20 footer last night too! the crowd went nuts!
  3. huh kmar? whats your response? any normal rails for us anytime soon or are we gonna be skiing through and art museum for the rest of the season?
  4. chris, maybe some skiers will have to get up there and clean that thing then huh? bear's is fun, i was getting ride 270s out last night on it. the question at blue is, will it actually be set up right...
  5. how bout your standard, stock, simple, normal, usually commonplace FLAT RAIL. circus rails are getting old.
  6. ummm... arent they on friday? i'll be there friday.
  7. since you are from philly, take a drive up the NE extension to quakertown and talk to nick, brian, or peter jr at nestors. any one of those guys will be able to get you dialed in. the met pad can probably be molded into your custom footbed so it doesnt seem quite as bulky, which will help bring your toes away from the sides of the boots, but we can also stretch the shell of the boot if the met pad doesnt fix everything.
  8. anyone else going to bear wednesday who rides park? i dont think me and nastar would get along...
  9. papa, at least one judge has taken notice... and dorsey, like i said, if you need help updating your site, let me know.
  10. 248 is 50-55mph pretty much the whole time except when you go through nazareth and bath, other than that, its pretty much windy back road with no stops. i dont see how going 22 to 512 to 248 to 946 is faster than just hopping on 145 straight to the mtn unless you are taking 22 west and not east though.
  11. doug i completely agree with your idea for allentown. there's really no other choice anymore; its time to start over.
  12. exactly. what jeff said is right too though. there were a lot of requirements i just didnt feel like meeting in order to teach for the program, unfortunately. i dont feel like i would have benefitted as a skier from a lot of the certifications i would have had to take, and therefore, didnt pursue it. and what toast does for freeriders is volunteer work more along the lines of park crew, although he is not a coach. he helps them fix and set up features, and gives the kids some encouragement and example. he's got every right to cut liftlines with them since he is helping the program.
  13. so i'll be there on saturday for usasa, whats the setup looking like right now?
  14. ^ wasnt jeenyus owned by forum anyway, who is now owned by burton?
  15. ^ no one neglects the park with the intent to make things more challenging for little kids.
  16. i dont know why all you people doubt a standard of measurement. feet are feet any way you look at it. a few years ago, okemo had a 70 footer that i hit, and the stepdown at blue is definately comparable size-wise to the hit from okemo.
  17. i dont know who said there is a 70 foot table; there isnt. there are two 20-30 foot tables, the only two in the park. the biggest hit is a stepdown wedge jump, measured at 68 feet lip to knuckle. so you're correct, there is no 70 foot table.
  18. i, along with a few other skiers, would also get the satisfaction of throwing down and showing some snowboarders whats up.
  19. pvc is the way to go if you are on a budget. all the stuff nick said like lexan or uhmw will be super expensive in large quantities. sheet metal isnt bad, just make sure its at least 1/16 thick or it will get chewed up pretty bad.
  20. thats all it says? this could be interesting... i'm game.
  21. that day in particular? they filmed us first thing in the morning when they were solid ice, instead of taking our recommendation and filming that park first when everything there was well groomed, and waiting for the bumps to soften up later in the morning. i love skiing bumps when they are nice, but not when they are rock hard and the size of geo metros.
  22. anyone see their horrible commercial this year? yeah, thats me skiing bumps. thats the only shot they used of my crew the whole day, and the film crew was with us in the park for a solid 5 hours, yet they use one crappy shot of me skiing bumps when they had shots of us spinning onto and off of rails, throwing big tricks on jumps, etc. doesnt make sense to me, but i will be there thursday, skiing like it was any other day.
  23. montage, i'm pretty sure he was. check again. he quoted toast, who was talking about the boarder who won the oakey jam.
  24. D, it was a cab left 270 to frontboard, left 270 out. kev did a left 450 on left 270 out. kev's was stomped, skis dead center on the rail, the boarder wasnt quite centered on the rail, although that could have been his intention, i dont know.
  25. ^ i told you to go hit the cementon rail instead, but no...
