PBP's War teaser has footage of it from earlier this season. and pollard tried to zero it last year, its in some other teaser this year i dont remember what though
-
i think the nothin but troubles are going to be a cheaper softer flexing version of the TMs. you had a problem getting used to the 160 MSPs because of width? cause they are only 82 waist, which is about the size of any other park ski on the market right now.
-
lineski, i dont think chads is quite 190 feet, its more like 110 or 120 or so, which is still huge, but not nearly 200 feet. also, tanner was not the first to hit it switch. eric pollard tried a zero over it last year but didnt land it, and andy mahre and pep fujas both hit it switch earlier this year, before tanner i believe.

correct atomic. going from my 1080s, which have an 80 waist, to the 4FRNTs made a huge difference. they are so much more stable going faster aslo, but thats more due to the length and stiffness. the fujatives are an 84 waist though, so an 80 waist isnt as bad as you think. i couldnt imagine skiing a ski with a 60 something waist in the park.

so apparently a lot is going on at blue now that they have closed for the season. the morning call ran an article about ray proposing townhouses that would only be occupied during the winter, which is kind of odd. does that mean people who own them couldnt go there in the summer? also, i've heard from several sources that ray might have sold the mountain. anybody know anything on this? finally, freeriders got approved for next year, so i guess you could say this is my first pitch at recruiting kids to join the blue mountain freeride team as skiers instead of it just being open to snowboarders. they finally came around and saw the potential us skiers have at blue to bring some recognition and cash to the place, so the program will start next year in mid january. on a final note, i skiied sunday, easter, and its now tuesday, and withdrawal is setting in already.

i was at bear today too, what skis did you have? there werent many kids on skis really doing anything today, the lip on the second hit got real heavy, but it was still a fun day.
-
can TM's handle bumps, or 4FRNTs? TMs are awesome in the bumps, i would imagine STLs are as well. my 4FRNTs are not the greatest seeing as the waist is 92mm, but if you can ski bumps decently, its manageable, you just have to power them through a little more.

lurker what size msps were you on? cause its a wide ski and takes a little getting used to before you really realize how amazing of a ski it is. they dont like short turns, but they hold an edge and rip when you get going pretty fast. tons of pop and super stable on jumps too. its kinda a big ski to be hitting rails with, but its not terrible. i have like 3 cracks in my edges, but i hit a ton of rails. no other problems with em at all, its an awesome ski to have if we get a dump of fresh snow too. and they have 2 new models next year, the VCT (vinnie dorion pro, real wide powder twin) and the supermodel (beefed up version of the MSP, triax glass instead of biax i believe, but only offered in a 180 and 187) ps. they changed the topsheet on the TMs so they dont pressure crack as easily any more, and for next year, new graphics and stronger, thicker edges and bases
-
yup, they really arent as hard as you would think either, its mostly a mental thing. they're super fun too.
-
ha its cool i understand him. props man, you have a bright future ahead of you for sure. we're trying to get teh skiing freeriders program started at blue for next year, you should definately join, basically practice on weekends and then go around to different comps and such. saturday was a lazy day for me though, i threw a few 5s, mostly just messing around doing stupid stuff with 180s though. i was getting some decent stuff on rails though, i learned switch 270s onto that kink box at the bottom of the park, and blind switch ups and 270s on are always fun.
-
bear's park is still amazing. almost landed my first 7 tonight, and got zeros pretty much locked. one of my friends landed his first 5 and my brother got his first switch 7, and another friend got his first 7 too. all around awesome night at bear creek
-
steeze are you the little kid rippin it up on armadas? i was there saturday and saw this real little kid on armada's throwing down some nice 5's. if thats you, props man. i was the tall kid, green coat, white pants, with 4FRNTs
-
same here, i am going to vermont to ski friday and saturday, hopefully i can get out of the family easter business to hit up bear sunday for the last day though
-
yeah that rail looks nice, i'll be going tuesday night after work to check it out.
-
i definately need to get there agian this season. their slopestyle was excellent, much better than the crap boulder called a slopestyle. and whoever said they were gonna dig out the s rail, you dont wanna hit that thing, they hit it with a groomer and bent it. its nasty.
-
skiing switch and being able to carve a turn switch are two entirely different things.
-
somehow i doubt anything will happen until dennis gets his head out of his ass. nothing against you kmar, but the slopestyle course from what i heard was excellent, and then dennis made the groomers, park crew, or whoever make everything small and crappy again.
-
it was harder to qualify this year, they only took first place each week, and it was all boxes, so everyone was laying down more or less the same run with 270s onto everything. if they even had rails in the prelims instead of all boxes, half the kids in the finals would have not been there. anybody can 270 onto a box, not many can onto a rail. not many can slide rails regular and unnaty equally well like they can boxes either. and then to top it off, no jumps in the finals either. that was complete crap. again, if it was a real slopestyle course like bear creek had last saturday, things would have been way different. we'll see what goes down at blue this weekend. i'm curious to see if any of the boulder kids can slide a legit rail instead of a box i could park my car under.
-
in case you didnt notice, we did get almost a foot of snow monday. and conditions were the best i have ever skiied in pa.
-
that jump is luscious. i dunno if any of you were there for the slopestyle, but minitanner and KT were dropping perfect cork 9's on that thing. three perfect hits in a row in their park really helps you get consistant on stuff cause you get to try something back to back to back. it really helped me dial in my 5's for sure. on another not, blue mountain monday night and tuesday was amazing. the trees off of lazy are real nice when theres almost a foot of snow on the ground.
-
that was the weakest slopestyle comp i have ever seen. why was it not on big boulder slope where there were actually jumps? and i thought style was important in an event such as a slopestyle? hucked 450s onto flatboxes look real weak if ya ask me. if they had legit jumps in that course, things would have played out a lot differently for sure.
-
i dont know what park steven skiied at boulder, but unless they have some super sick park hidden somewhere, they have nothing on bear. i was at boulder friday and bear saturday and sunday, and bear was 10 times better than boulder, easily. 50 foot wedge booter at bear was perhaps the best jump i have ever hit, and thats including stuff at killy, okemo, and stratton. bear creek has their act together for sure this year.
-
the sign's at bear on top of sasquatch.
-
atomic, why would you go to bear for any other reason than the park? that mountain is worthless otherwise, its half the size of blue.
-
so i was at boulder tonight for the z games. we're ready to leave, and two of my friends' skis are gone. one pair was the white 169 vinnie dorion 1080s with s912PE2s and a waldo sticker, the other pair dynastar phil larose pros with look p12s. we were away from the skis for all of 5 minutes and some bastard stole them. if any of you kids ride boulder and see the skis, knock the kid down and punch his teeth out and steal the skis back for my friends. it would be greatly appreciated.
