Toured sugarbush last Friday, seemed like a cool place. I'd go back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Vetri is mad bank. Talulas and amada are pricy but both are really, really good. If it's a nice day, it's tough to beat a seat outside at talulas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mütter is in center city so you have lots of options within a ~10 minute walk. Pub and kitchen at 20th and bainbridge is really good gastropub type food and they make really good drinks, one of my favorites. Lots of people say it's the best burger in the city. Village whiskey or monks get my vote for that though. Village whiskey is pretty meat heavy, but as the name suggests, tons of different kinds of whiskey if you're into that. Monks is Belgian, really good burgers, mussels if you like them, and the best beer list I've ever seen. Like, $50-$100 bottles if you really wanna play those games. Their house sour ale is really good. If you're looking for Chinese food, dim sum garden is kinda fun, but more so with a group. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What kinda food? I'll get back to you in the morning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah it would have been fun to shred with all the blue bump crew up there, but I'll take high 40s and sunny next weekend. Ending out the season on boilerplate just didn't seem right to me haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Whatcha know about that plumb bob
-
Bowl doesn't look bad, but hillmans is a firm hell no. Seeing as how I don't have crampons or an ice axe, tucks is probably out of the picture for me this year. I don't have the experience to play those games yet.
-
Jlaw what's the latest beta on touring up north? Seen some dudes doing tucks, since I guess they got some snow, but not sure how much was even skinnable. Gonna be up in vt in a little over two weeks and wanna at least get a day in skinning up a closed ski area or something.

I have some BCA magic carpets. They aren't the lightest I don't think, but not are guardians or Jeffrey 122s, so I'm not gonna worry about it. They're relatively easy on/off and I haven't had any grip issues with them, but I've only toured in spring snow. The only time they gave out on me was trying to go up something that was way too steep. Trying to stop yourself while sliding backwards with your heels unlocked is comically difficult.

A reasonably stiff ski with a bit of tip rocker and taper with a long-ish turning radius is your friend in chopped up snow. A little bit of speed and it'll track through crud pretty well. What are you skiing on, out of curiosity?
-
If you can get away with the small, do it. Not only will it be lighter, it will impede the flex of the ski slightly less than the large. I have guardians, and while they're not the best skiing binding I've used, they're passable, and ski much better than marker's offerings I've skied. I can't really speak to the tyrolia or any true tech binding, but if you want to go the tech route, be prepared to drop a lot more money.

Probably saturday -
I didn't know snow guns made powder?!
-
wasnt it gurp? I almost bought a mtb frame off of him last spring I think.

What's the pow ski of choice these days sib?
-
What about cannon? I drove past it last spring on my way to tucks and it looks pretty decent. Good vert, pitch, and they have a tram which is pretty rad. Decent little town with some ok bars too.

i wonder what tretiak is up to these days
-
yeah I timed that trip waaaaaay wrong

Looking like tomorrow or Wednesday for me
-
The drive up and back today was rough, but I'm glad we made it. Conditions were actually decent and the bumps got to be pretty fun when things softened up after 12 or so. Today was 6 in a row for me, running on a few hours of sleep from a red eye back from Tahoe. Gotta get it while ski season is still here!

seeing as how I fly home the 5th, I don't think that really changes things for me. I'm just hoping it's not crusty at this point.

No kirkwood. Northstar, heavenly, squaw, and maybe a day at alpine meadows. My last ski day is Saturday so I'll miss whatever the potential is for Sunday, but hoping that thirsday thing pans out!
