precisely. I work 10 minutes from the airport.

no, not flying with toast. Our schedules worked out so that US out of philly was not convenient for him like it is for those of us in philly. And yes, flying out after work runs the risk of delays.
-
uh oh toast... I'm flying US air out of philly direct. Their 6:15pm to SLC is clutch.

it became blue mtn in 1987

That hole is just a source for dirt for the jumps and berms that surround it. T-bar line is painfully obvious.

thats not true. I went to Shawnee for a comp a few years ago on a pow day. Basically took my two comp runs then went and skied trees with 8" of snow. If I didn't have a season pass I'd probably go there a few times a year with a card like this.

im gonna guess there was a rain/ice crust on the top of it that far south.

Razors reopened around 1 or so? Took that for our last 3 runs of the early session and it was awesome, with the exception of the head wall being a bit scraped. Also heading back up for 7pm and throwing toast into my trunk on the way. He has no choice. -
chow chows are awesome!

that perk usually ends when your home mountain closes for the year

stop. I don't know what happened with bear's park crew over the offseason other than their park manager who I know personally moved west and is not working at bear anymore. I know you don't know either, so stop spreading rumors that at best help no one, and at worst are slanderous.

if you can't find any rhythm skiing the bumps at blue you're doing something wrong
-
they both have their advantages. Frost's advantages, in my opinion, become less relevant when we have continually cold temps and natural snowfall, since the snow quality at blue stays pretty good. It's when temps are marginal at blue and frost is still colder/getting snow that they get the nod from me. That's the main reason I haven't been there much the past two years: blue has had good snow. Location, hours, crowds, etc all also come into play for a lot of people, so yeah, it's always going to be a debate, and not everyone's answer will be the same as yours, for varying reasons that may or may not be relevant to you.

frost this weekend? Better chance for snow up there than blue as of now.

Out saturday, in sunday with lots of layers and hand warmers. Too cold for beer, gonna be a whiskey kinda day! -
Using the term "domestic" in regards to bars and their happy hour specials needs to die. Dfh, yards, victory, etc are all domestic and they sure as hell are not ever able to be purchased as a "half-price domestic" at most bars. Sorry, rant over, maybe I'll give that silly nastar thing a shot if you folks go again next week.

Like jlaw said, this has nothing to do with a skier vs snowboarder thing. The snowboarder in this case is basically just a moron. Not only could he have seriously injured the skier, but he could have just as easily injured himself. I don't understand why people can't just let the skier vs snowboarder shit die. Like two weeks ago some snowboarder was complaining about the VIP line taking too long, when you could plainly see his 6 hour lift ticket on his jacket zipper. I called him on it, telling him he didn't really have any ground to stand on complaining about VIP when he shouldn't even be in that line anyway. His response? Something along the lines of "well, you're a skier so you're lame." I gave up at that point and let everyone else around him in line heckle him for snaking into VIP.

Make sure you mount those up for a 27.5...

He's 7. Skiing's supposed to fun. If he's expressed interest in some sort of formal coaching or training, maybe go for the private. If he's just out there having a good time on snow, as most 7 year olds are, the snow monsters program will probably be the better bet. Source: I used to be an instructor at blue in their kids program.

seths are a super fun ski, but definitely not what ya wanna be on when you get into heavy chop. They deflect pretty bad. The prophets should definitely be more stable for ya.

Morningside reminds me a lot of powmow; really nice loosely spaced trees. Christmas tree is awesome too. You guys get into the chutes at all?
