  1. like i said, NEW helmets. paint the fuse white with red spots and you'll look like toad from mariokart. i'd be very surprised if that helmet hasn't taken a few hits and isn't due to be replaced.
  2. they still make em as new models, but they fit like absolute crap with any new helmet pretty much.
  3. Root's crossfires would work if you can't find something better. Super easy to ski for how quick turning they are.
  4. so that's why i find waxing skis while drinking beer to be a therapeutic activity?
  5. golfing, and apparently he's pretty good at it. is there any way to do just like one day of the bump clinics? i really don't feel like dropping that money and having to commit to the full class.
  6. can we all just be reasonable adults and say rain when it's going to rain? it's not going to change the fact that this season is borderline nonexistent for PA thus far. thanks.
  7. I haven't used it on snow, nor is it designed to be used for snowsports, but I use strava mountain biking and I could see some aspects of it being useful on snow, maybe more so if you're touring to track your progress on the same route with climbing speeds and such.
  8. oh, what used to be the halfpipe at one point, with the big wooden wallride, gotcha
  9. what the heck is dragonfire?

i'm mostly just bummed that they keep upping prices for food at the bar. the beer selection has stayed consistently good, with prices being fair in my opinion, but the food keeps getting ritzier and pricier. when i'm done skiing, i want a beer and a burger, or wings, or something generally not healthy. if you wanna have fancy menu options, fine, but they have at least two restaurants there, and the one is rarely open on weeknights. i'd bet that the bulk of the weeknight crowd is more into burgers after skiing than filet or grilled salmon or that sort of thing.

maybe they could add some more vert? oh wait, they did that...
  12. Don't waste your time at powder. Shitty groomers and meadow skipping. They don't even have porcelain toilets.

yeah, that tyler. he used to be a patroller back in the day. not sure who busted themselves on the s rail, besides everyone... you talkin about ryan rubino who used to work at nestors?
  14. working in the field that a lot of those guys work in, it's kinda interesting. clearly they don't know much about eden, or they'd have realized that they're going to have to be driving down to ogden to get booze for all their startup parties. the liquor store in eden closed a few years ago.
  15. i don't think i actually paid any more to get it same day, but it was like 5 years ago that i did it, so that may have changed
  16. if you're in a pinch for the passport and can spare a day to take a drive, you can go to one of the federal passport offices and just walk in and get everything done that day instead of mailing everything and waiting some indeterminate amount of time. conveniently, one of the 6(?) federal passport offices is in center city philly, a very short drive from you. i ended up doing that when i needed to get one, and it was way less nerve-wracking than waiting for it to come in the mail and hoping i'd get it in time.
  17. sounds like sfb from tgr, but i don't know why the heck he'd be here
  18. i'm rocking 14s on all my gear. same bomber heel, but with a normal person toe with vertical release, and i fall comfortably in the middle of the DIN range instead of at the lower end.
  19. you are now my new favorite member of PASR. thank you for bringing the TGR love. you might be hard pressed to find more than a few people here big, strong, and/or cocky enough to rock those bindings though. i'd be very interested if i didn't already have three pairs of pivots/fks...
  20. 350 new for those bindings would be a very good price. 200 used is still pretty good. If you can warrant rocking those bindings, the skis are an added bonus for that price.
  21. correct, with the exception of a few blackout dates
  22. While I haven't seen MSP's movie, and I probably won't go out of my way to do so, if they put in work, the snow situation last year wouldn't have been an excuse for a bad movie. The PNW got hammered all season long, as did Japan, and it shows in movies like Level 1's sunny. Stept made due and put out a killer movie that had a very skateboard team video feel to it. Poor Boyz movie, albeit a bit stale in formula and sporadic in how one segment transitioned into the next, still had killer skiing and there were definitely individual segments that are stoke worthy. I hope MSP put something cool together, I just haven't been very stoked on the bulk of the stuff they've put out lately.
  23. you legitimately have your own montana now? you just made jeff's setup look like amateur hour.
  24. being on the third and fourth floor of a mid-block center city walkup has its advantages. Just took one of the window units out over the weekend and probably won't need to turn the heat on for about another month, at least. Utility bill pretty much gets cut in half during the winter.
