yup. and in other olympics related news, dumont's off salomon and on head now. maybe his skis will stay on his feet so he doesnt get robbed be a slightly better than average 15 year old now.
-
why can't he be hungover on a friday?

kid is brutally honest.

pretty sure he's rocking px's now, but i could be wrong. i run my px's on my seths at 10 toe and heel, and my pivots on my park skis at 9 in the toe, 10 in the heel. 11.5 on a look binding is scary to me. i'm comfortable with the elastic travel in that binding doing its job. i don't think my skis came off once last year when they shouldn't have, aside from the airbag at blue. and riding a 16 on that binding is worthless if forward pressure and toe height arent set properly. when i used to ride salomon bindings, i had the things cranked to 12 and would still pull my ski off mid mute grab because the toe height and wing adjustments would loosen throughout the day. awesome bindings if they're dialed in properly though.

look on the DIN chart and i'd bet 8.5 is what you're supposed to be at. that's where i'm supposed to be too, but i definitely don't leave them there after i'm done binding checking my skis.
-
you can sign off on the binding release and request a specific setting. everything that comes out of any ski shop in this country, unless you sign something that says otherwise, should be set according to your height, weight, age, boot sole length, and skier type. buckmans doesn't do anything any differently than any other shop in that regard.

i'm almost always at killy on weekends, have been going to the place for almost 20 years, at least one trip per year, and have ridden it once. they NEVER ran that chair, like ever. but yeah, it was awesome. and only dumber than the sunrise chair, that goes up, then down, then up again.
-
they work better at night than any lens they make aside from maybe clear, but that's more of a preference thing. i like HI yellow better, personally. none of it's in my possession yet, but i've got lange rx130s, pivot 14s, and ON3P jeffreys on the way.

tryin to hike mt mik? if 6" is for real, i'll be up and ready to ski something.

everything you said is spot-on. and i've said it to them before, and almost got my pass pulled for it. this was well before the current management, and i'd like to think they're doing a much better job at paying attention to the input of their customers. i talk to the park manager pretty regularly, and i know he wants to do a good job there and constantly improve, but it's pretty obvious you can only do so much when you're working with ice. they put new guns on sidewinder this year and widened it again, so provided park crew gets the budget they need to work with that trail, there's no reason it shouldn't blow boulder out of the water. jon at boulder definitely knows how to operate a cat, but andy's got his act together too. blue was super fun last year, and i'm hoping it only gets better this season.

Proceeds go toward licensing fees to pay for the movies in the park program over the summer

It's a fundraiser for the city of Bethlehem, put on by the city of Bethlehem essentially, so I really doubt they'd move it

not nearly as crowded as i had hoped it would be. hopefully the turnout doesn't kill it for next fall. last year seemed more hyped and more 'together', and i think the movie combos this year weren't as well thought out as they could have been. somebody suggested doing one night for ski movies and one for snowboard movies to try and better attract each demographic, which seems to make sense to me.
-
exactly, and that's a problem. their park is good now, why not capitalize on that and bring in some more money?
-
i'm aware of that, but i find it weird that they just list 'red bull' as a line item and don't hype it up more.

don't remember the specific dates, but it was mid-late january, like around the 20th-ish. up til about 2 days out, the forecast was calling for feet of snow down to like 3000 feet, and then the freezing level rose up to about 6000, and feet of snow turned into inches of rain really quickly.
-
in theory, this would be a great year to hit the PNW... but in theory, last year was too, and i rode in rain comparable to what we had here when everything in southeastern PA flooded for days. that said, utah is looking like average temps and above average precip. sounds like january and february should be pretty on point there again. from what i get out of that report though, the mid atlantic is looking at average, unless the AO dips down and rocks us. all said and done, i need more vacation days.

The most interaction I've had with patrol was last summer mountain biking during one of the races. Guy flatted, pushed through a turn and took a tree to the leg and I think dislocated his knee. He was totally calm until the d-league showed up and tried to position him for the backboard by pulling on his leg. Oops.

definitely has not been open for at least 10 years. i remember skiing that when i was super little and still on straight skis. i'm now 27... that was open when old burma was open, which is where they put the small jump line from the mountain bike park last summer.

laughs all around from this one... do they have a proofreader on staff? what's with the luge thing? i guess they've had success with that thing in the past, but is that really going to generate revenue all season long? pretty sure little gap is what was once a legitimate trail, if it's what i'm thinking of. and what's razorback? the cornice above the nightmare/dreamweaver intersection? the station teaching thing sounds like it would be awesome for a first timer/beginner. i'm hoping one of those conveyor lifts is for lower park, that'd be pretty awesome. and i'm very surprise that red bull isn't getting more attention than just naming them as an improvement.

i know you're probably not in a financial situation to get one, but that sounds like some 'lawyer up' crap right there. they basically set you up, right? i thought possession was decriminalized there?
-
let me just say that breaking your neck changes you. i rode with nipples a bunch last year and he's pretty much the most polite and generally stoked person you could find on the mountain now. and he can still spin like a top.

mugshots are double bonus

like, old p14s, or pivot 14s? cause there's not very much adjustment to a pivot heel at all. i'm a 27.5, not sure what the boot sole is gonna come out to since i'm not sure what boots i'm going to be in this year yet.
