  1. After presidents weekend, unless we get snow, blue will be empty on weekends, and they usually do the spring fling coupons too.
  2. skiers' responsibility code on the neck is pretty hood. nobody in allentown would even think to mess with you then.
  3. I'd want to get $30 for the lense, since it'll be harder to sell the whole goggle without the spare lense.
  4. So, title describes it, I have a pair of black smith fuse goggles with a sensor mirror and persimmon lens. They retail for $90 i believe, I'm looking to get $50 for them. I also have a pair of Scott Airtime gloves, size large (9). They retail for $75, I'd like to get $40 for them. They have leather palms and pads on the fingers, with the side of the finger boxed made of a canvasy kind of material. Super soft, they seem really warm with a lot of insulation in them. My hands tend not to get very cold so I think I'd sweat too much with a glove like these. If you think the prices are a bit high, make me a reasonable offer and I'll consider it. I don't have any use for the stuff so I'm just trying to get rid of it to fund utah in march. Thanks!
  5. your posts keep making cali sound more and more appealing...
  6. it's a gross freezing mist down here right now. i had to chisel the ice off my car this morning. fun times!
  7. interesting. out of all the times i've been out west, i've seen in total one person on snowblades, no lie. it was this guy: http://imgur.com/YJ66q?full. case closed.
  8. This is the dumbest thing I think I've ever seen on this site. Go try a 9 on the third jump at blue on your snowblades and let me know what happens, if you can even clear it. Again, if you're fighting to mountainto carve on skis, you're doing something wrong. I understand that people have preferences about various aspects of life, but snowblades are not a preference, there a spiral-fractured tibia waiting to happen.
  9. It amazes me that snowblades even exist anymore. They're good for exactly zero things. Grow a pair and get real skis. You'll thank yourself a year from now when you learn how to actually carve a turn.
  10. That was the hope, and up until 2 days before the trip, it was supposed to be head deep by the end of the week. We still got some fresh snow at Stevens for the last day, which was fun. Trying to get redemption in Utah in march...
  11. it rained like 6" throughout the week instead of snowing 6'. washout is an understatement. it was still a lot of fun to ride a few places i've never been before, and the terrain there is awesome, but the cameras didn't really come out to play in the middle of the downpour. about 3
  12. it's dumping again in plymouth meeting, about 3" so far. it's pretty moist snow, great for building lips for handrails.
  13. sounds fun. i wish there weren't so many overlapping events this year. some ski areas wonder why they get low turnout. would it really hurt to talk to each other and find out when they're doing competitions so they don't all plan them for the same weekend?
  14. correction: PA public transportation sucks. the public transit system in utah is awesome. you can get to pretty much any of the major ski areas using cheap/free public transit in about the same amount of time it would take to drive and park. if you're staying in or around park city, there's a free town bus that stops at all the ski areas, grocery stores, etc, and hits each stop about every 10 minutes. you can also get from park city to BCC/LCC by bus for about $25-$30 if i remember correctly. buses run from SLC to all the ski areas as well. it's just not as important for the public transit companies to run lines to ski areas around here. realistically, it probably would not make them much, if any, money to do so.
  15. where in philly? i'm in roxborough and got about 2 inches
  16. this statement leads me to believe you've never actually hiked for your turns before. i was out in washington last week, and our first day at steven's pass, within about 5 turns off the chairlift, we triggered three slides. this was patrolled inbounds terrain. had we been hiking out of bounds, things could have gotten ugly really, really quickly.
  17. flying out of PHL. i'm contemplating taking the train to the airport now. dealing with the potential parking lot that the schuylkill might turn into is not high up on my list of things to do wednesday.
  18. i think this is the first time i've ever hoped that we do not get a snow storm in philly. i really don't wanna miss out on riding on thursday. supposedly they'll even be getting snow in the city, so we might have issues on takeoff and landing. this should get exciting...
  19. they're doing beach replenishment all over the place. taking sand from far out in the ocean, pumping it to shore, and then dumping it basically where the wave you want to ride breaks, creating a longer beach for all the lazy people to lay on. it destroys any rideable wave for years before the ocean whips the contours of the sand back into a bar that will actually break and be rideable. the whole process is pretty frustrating because it seems it's always a quick fix, and never done in a sustainable, and still surfable, way. it's just like, ok, make the beach longer so we have more room for people to lay out and tan, but totally disregard the fact that people might actually go in the water.
  20. The parking lot at blue has never really been that bad, the parking lot attendants basically just stand there being self-important
  21. if you need another person to list as an alternate, sure. like i said, no guarantees since i'm coming from philly, but let me know.
  22. got about an inch in philly so far. think maybe they undercalled this one for once?
  23. Out of curiosity, why do you seem so adamantly opposed to dropping the age limit for a full time student discount? Four year students get hooked up all four years but someone who's in a five year engineering program or something gets screwed? Doesn't seem very fair to me.
  24. well that's horrible timing for those of us in the 9 to 5 crowd...
