  1. not too sure how i feel about sticking magnets to my electronic devices...
  2. there are two chambers to it. the bottom one stays inflated to give you some guaranteed distance from the ground, and the top one deflates. once there's some snow/water on top of the thing, it's pretty slippery, so if you land awkward you usually slide it out anyway so it doesnt really hurt. granted, if you land straight on your dome, you're gonna be in sorry shape regardless of what you're landing on unless it's 3 feet of fresh snow.
  3. sylvia's. don't go there unless you want to feel like a pedo. a group of 6 guys in their 20s walking in to a room filled with 8 year olds definitely got some strange looks from the parents...
  4. the bumps on main street were awesome on sunday once the new snow got broken in. for anyone who's still looking for new gear, rockered skis in the bumps absolutely slay. i felt like i was skiing them much cleaner and faster than i ever did last year, and my skis are actually wider this year too. the bumps on challenge definitely need a bit more of a slow and deliberate approach as opposed to main though.
  5. i support all of this except for the christmas music.

    quiver killers

it's basically the same thing snowboards have used for years, it works. plus it allows you to easily fit two pairs of skis in a one pair bag when travelling cause you only need one set of bindings.
  7. i'm too scared of falling in my phone and breaking it to use this... ha

    quiver killers

pretty sure he's the guy who started quiverkillers, but i could be wrong.
  9. john you still have snowblades, right? those should make quick enough turns.
  10. come around is: down rail or down box hip with wooden wallride angled butter box flat rail or flat box flat down flat rail or battleship box(?) small jump wide up rail lower wasn't open yesterday but i think it does: float box or flat rail jump flat down box or flat down rail jump some other rails/boxes? something like that. lips onto everything were prime last night, and stuff actually has landings so it doesn't get bombed. park crew's killin it this year.
  11. my fairing needs a nice diecut. you work at bear, right? i owe ya a beer if you get these made up.
  12. three replies and no comments on the goggles yet? really? you guys disappoint me.
  13. Lower park looks fun but you're gonna have to Mach through it to hit everything. The flat down setup looks so good. Andy's killin it!
  14. Come around was on point tonight. I'm pretty comfortable saying it's the best park blue has opened with. Stoked to ski some more this weekend.
  15. sorry, i meant that they had their own separate compressor setup that the other guns didn't draw from. i realize all snow guns need a compressor unless they're fan guns haha
  16. i could be wrong, but i could have sworn when they put all the new guns on sidewinder a few years ago, they specifically set them up so they wouldn't draw any compressor power from the rest of the mountain so they could blow sidewinder ASAP without affecting getting regular trails open. anybody who knows more about that wanna chime in? the fact that it's the warmest part of the day and it's in the mid 20s and they're not blowing on everything they absolutely can, if that's the case, is somewhat annoying
  17. no snowmaking on sidewinder yet huh?
  18. denali? now you'll really fit in at lehigh

    12-13

bummer that the rain did that much damage, but it's to be expected. hopefully they will blow some snow in the park to freshen things up a bit. riding an icy setup is never fun.
  20. go inside to put your boots on. walking on gravel/pavement and not buckling your boots when you're not in them are probably the two worst things you can do to a boot, aside from melting it. boots are also way easier to put on when they're warm. p.s. when i say i have a narrow foot, i mean stupid narrow. i've tried speed machines on a bunch and they're way too wide for me, they feel like my feet are swimming inside them.
  21. yeah, i did, but it's all relative. doug and i ski very differently and have very different shaped feet. he probably wouldn't be happy in the konflicts, and i'm 100% sure i wouldnt be happy in the speed machines. i'm just glad he finally got something decent that (i'm assuming) fits his foot.
  22. have you looked at the swix fiberlene iron system at all? it basically removes the need to scrape whatsoever. instead of bare iron on your ski, you put what is basically a glorified dryer sheet between the iron and ski, which soaks up the excess wax and wipes your base smooth as you melt the wax. you pretty much just brush afterwards and you're good to go.
