  1. brazillian bbq last night said otherwise buddy...
  2. about the only thing i'd be interested in is the tuning equipment. a nicer waxing iron would be pretty useful, as well as some clamps and a ptex gun.
  3. it was snow when they first turned the guns on. obviously as it warmed up, it was coming out as water.
  4. kinda bummed i can't head up there this weekend. i've got other things to take care of.
  5. agreed, 110%, and he actually knows how to ride what he builds too.
  6. it's happened to me. i was also pulled over for going 45 in a 45, which they wrote on the ticket at 50 in a 45. luckily that one was out of state so i got no points out of it.
  7. i'll bet you a beer that that's the same rail that was in central last year.
  8. in most cases, unless your health insurance is awesome, or your company is awesome for providing it, you have to pay to add dependents to your plan. i was covered by my dad's insurance while i was still in school, but it was cheaper to add me to that plan than for me to have my own plan. legally, companies have to accept you as a dependent until you're 26 now, provided you are filing taxes as a dependent and your parent is claiming you as a dependent. in some people's cases though, and this may be the same with you, it's actually cheaper to find your own insurance than it would be to hop onto your parents' plan, even though you are still allowed to be on your parents' plan. the bill doesn't guarantee you free health care, it just guarantees you access to health care, if i'm understanding it correctly. it doesn't affect me since i'm 26, get insurance through work, and finding insurance on my own would still be cheaper than tagging onto my dad's insurance though, so i didn't pay super close attention to it. looks like a decent way to spend halloween weekend to me
  9. seth rubino also ate shit on the staircase on sidewinder a few years ago, then called us out for almost hitting him when he sat in the landing for about 5 minutes gathering his gear.
  10. yeah, they built all the dumb crap. and that rail is the dfd that was in central last year. tight kinks, skinny, and kinda sucked, if you ask me. the geometry was all wrong. i don't understand it. the old fdf and dfd rails were awesome.
  11. gotta watch out on VT 7. they'll get ya up there...
  12. with doug driving... it's totally doable in less than 5 if you don't hit traffic. although coming from philly, while the distance might be a bit farther, i don't have to deal with the miserable piece of hell that is rt. 209
  13. their post on NS says 10am... http://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/574660/
  14. you didn't witness the infamous dino walk of shame. those cobblestones on main street sure are tricky to navigate without a tree limb for a crutch.
  15. yes, nestors carries full tilts. provided the fit is appropriate (you used to wear L10s so you should be fine), the konflict is probably the boot that would be most appropriate for you. correct. if it fits like a slipper in the shop, your foot is going to be sliding around in the boot, it'll take longer to get your ski up on edge, and your foot will get tired from overcompensating for all the slop inside the boot. bottom line, proper fit and footbeds will do wonders for your skiing if it's something you've never had before. jeff knows, he can almost turn his skis now!
  16. No bootfitting fee if you buy them from the shop. Trust me when you buy a boot like this, you're going to spend a good deal of time tweaking them.
  17. mine are on their way too. my domains just came in the mail yesterday too. once the boots arrive, it's into the backshop then i'm ready to go! stoked!
  18. spot on. underarmour is overpriced for what you get. your money would be better spent on some of the stuff dan mentioned, patagonia, or if you're on a budget, polarmax stuff. as far as pants go, i don't remember off the top of my head, but orage made the benji pant last year with insulation, and i believe it's 15k/15k. i have the shell version and they help up pretty well for me.
  19. have fun 'racing' down that. even with the big drop in, we were sitting on our tails to try to get speed to hit the air bag when it was over there. that's pretty much the flattest spot on the mountain. i honestly think upper school hill has more pitch to it.
  20. they posted that video on their facebook account like two weeks ago. i watched it, commented, asking if blue mountain allows skiing, and both my comment and the video were promptly removed from their facebook account. don't put out poor promotional material and expect people to not have criticism. nothing against the kids in the video, i ride with most of them regularly, but it's doing a very poor job of representing the actual clientele of the mountain, unless that was directed specifically towards a snowboarding message board or TWS's website or something, i dunno.
  21. http://www.skibluemt.com/SkiBlue/SiteAssets/images/mountain/bluemtn250final_rev_091509_760x370.jpg the glade runs are between main street and come around from connector down to x-ing and off to the right side of lazy, in the top right corner, most likely entering from tuts. i didn't take a close look at the connector/x-ing area, but the lazy trees are still pretty tight. it looks like they cleared out all the brush and undergrowth but didnt really remove any of the old growth trees. as you all know, the pitch at that part of lazy is almost non-existant, so i don't think it'll be all too difficult to ski. at least they're finally legitimizing the trees we've all been skiing for years anyway. connector->x-ing was really fun last year when we got fresh snow, as was the whole right side of lazy. it's a shame they're not clearing it out the whole length of the trail, since it gets better the farther down you ski once it starts to get some decent pitch.
  22. perfect weather for doug to wear his mesh shirt when he's out with the 10 year olds
  23. i'll probably end up going friday night as well.
  24. the first responder dude was ski patrol. but it was like amateur hour ski patrol. like if we were not there telling him what ski trail we were closest to, they would have been hiking around in the woods for who knows how long trying to find the kid once they got the backboard up there. luckily they took him to lehigh valley instead of palmerton at least. word on the street is it was a dislocated knee, not a broken femur, although that still sounds absolutely miserable.
  25. most epic fail is pasr histoery? hahahha
