you've got a much better recollection of last night than i do, that's for sure
-
that's just encouragement to drink too much hahaha
-
i believe so. what are your plans?
-
how are your man-boobs these days? did you shave your chest for a nice smooth signing surface?
-
they certainly don't take pride in safety during the summer when they're open for mountain biking. i felt horrible for the kid who broke his leg during the DH race sunday for the care he received on the mountain. the first responder was moving his broken leg in all sorts of horrible ways and the kid just laid there and took it like a champ.
-
the addict is a true twin, therefore not going to be the best all mountain ski. it's doable, but they dive in soft snow.
-
i can't believe killy didn't make that list. the crowds of years past are pretty much gone, or are spread out better than they used to be, aside from early season. they've still got the best nightlife on the east coast aside from tremblant, or maybe burlington if we're counting that, and there's a ridiculous amount of terrain. weird.
-
how tall are you? generally with a twin tip you want to go a little longer, since with a turned up tail, you've got less effective edge to work with. you're probably be looking for something in the 170ish range. if you're looking for an all mountain ski, you might want to check out the k2 silencer. cap/sidewall construction for this year, 85mm waist, with a little bit of rocker in the tip. it'll work pretty well for the bumps and be a good go-to ski for the random PA pow day or for spring crud too. it's basically the old PE/extreme, with a new sidewall profile, a little more carbon fiber, and a bit of tip rocker.
-
technically they were slightly different construction, but neither of those skis exists anymore. the revamped version for this year is the revival, 90mm waist, tip and tail rocker, flat underfoot. it'd be an awesome travel ski, but not what i'd want to be on if it's getting a lot of use as an east coast carver. they certainly hold an edge, it's just a very different feeling in and out of a turn when you don't have camber underfoot. i'd equate it to surfing, where you don't get the spring out of a turn that you're used to when using a traditional cambered ski. indiggio, Line has a very broad product range. chances are, there's something there that would work well, but without more specifics, it's hard to recommend something in particular.
-
you've gotta be more specific than that. there's not just 'twin tips' anymore, there's a ski with a turned up tail for basically any kind of terrain you're planning on riding aside from a race course, so give us a little more info. using it as an all mountain ski in PA, primarily as a trip ski up north/out west? like to ski a lot of bumps? short quick turns or longer radius turns? are you riding park at all?

it's probably the same trees we've been skiing for years if i had to guess. i'll try and take a look around when i'm up biking on sunday. they've also done some dirt work and took away the corner of trees at the top of lazy where that log ride was last year, where they always put up take between the trees, and put new guns in on lazy.

RFID chips are super super tiny now. anyway, the corral for the quad looked like it was already cemented into the ground, and it was not right in front of the lift chutes. it's back where the lines end before the attendant calls you out, so i'm really not sure how they're going to have to reconfigure the logistics of all that. Alta did the same thing. Even for a day ticket, you could get a card instead of a paper ticket so you didn't have to show your ticket every time you got on a lift. it looked no different in form factor than blue's current passes but had an RFID tag in it.

they're rfid readers, so no, a photocopy won't work. i saw the things yesterday and it looks like it's going to cause a huge hassle. also, how is this going to affect the VIP line? i really, really hope that's not going away. the turnstyles for the things, once there's some snow on the ground, look like they're going to be about shin height though, which i thought was kinda weird. they're really low to the ground.

pretty sure he doesn't have a car at the moment, hence not able to drive anywhere to meet. i've been on several trips with him, i'll vouch for him. he just likes to change his username a lot, he's been here forever.

there's a few people on the site who i'd buy gear from, but you don't really get a good feel for that unless you've read the message boards there for a long time. their karma system helps to some degree. i think someone made a thread about legit sellers and people to absolutely stay away from, so that's a good place to check first. the saga suit comment is 100% spot on though hah

agreed. i wouldn't give more than 150 for that ski, specifically. the bindings suck, and probably will break, and the skis, while i havent ridden that specific model, are made by 4frnt, and they will break as well. i literally had a pair of 4frnts fold underneath me while carving on my first day on them, and they wouldn't even warranty them.

there's a good chance i'll show my face. i don't think plake drinks anymore though...
-
the term pocket meat just sounds absolutely repulsive. maybe i'll set up a bake sale with chocolate chip cookies and steal the thunder from the race kids selling rice crispy treats that look solid enough to be used to lay the foundation of a house.

more the SKI mag demographic

also, come check out nestor's used equipment sale, which starts at 5pm today. if you get here early, you can usually snag some killer deals. there was a pair of anthems with px12's last year in never-touched-a-rail condition that went for only $300.
-
correct. salomon's cores from that time period definitely do not hold their pop well at all. they were a really fun ski the first year you owned them, but everyone i know who skied them said they pretty much died after a year or so of use. i'll comb through my garage this weekend and see what i've got sitting around, TheRealKT always has some skis that he could sell.
-
yeah the xxl is rather burly. if i remember correctly, bottom end of the DIN range is at 12. i ride my park skis at 10 and have never had issues with prerelease/non-release even hitting bigger stuff out west, so i'd be a bit scared to run something that beefy, but if you're skiing stuff that's definite no-fall type terrain where you don't want the remote chance of your ski coming off, then that's your binding.

hope ya got some strong knees, buddy

If you were comfortable in the ol Lange fit, the new Ones will feel like slippers. For being a race boot, they're Really not that uncomfortable at all, but jeff is right, the performance of the banshee pro or this years rx130 is almost on par with the wc120 and the liner is way more plush.

uhhhh.... pretty sure that video is two years old, but with the addition of the c-bow box. i swear they showed that when they did the movie premiere preseason a few years ago. there's rails in there that we all know have been destroyed, like the horrible dfd s and the transition box. that also had the hip on the first corner two years ago, and we all know how well that worked out. i'm pretty sure snowgrind does those flythrough things for all the stuff they build so they kinda have a visual of what the final product should look like, but size/spacing of a lot of that stuff looks absolutely cracked out.
